1. How far along are you? 39w4d by my calculations. 40w5d according to my ultrasound measurements.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I am veeeeery close to having this baby. He’s still stubbornly posterior which is annoying. I’ve had two stretch and sweeps and am now hanging out at 4cm dilated. Yesterday they ran an NST since he was quiet overnight and I’m having steady contractions that I can’t feel, and intermittent big ones that I can feel every 30 minutes or so. They are not long though.
3. Questions for the group?
4. The temperatures have dropped here. What Fall foods are you craving? In the past week I have gone on a soup frenzy. Today I put together a massive crock pot of borscht. So many fresh veggies. I also made a Jewish Apple Cake last night. Mmmmmmm.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I've been feeling kind of lousy the last few days although that's probably due to some added stress. My sister is coming to visit next weekend and I have so much to finish this week.
3. Questions for the group?
4. The temperatures have dropped here. What Fall foods are you craving? It's still stupid hot here (in the 90's all weekend) but I am ready for soup season. Hopefully we'll cool down a bit fairly soon, I am beyond done with hot weather.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I got released from MFM last week. Baby girls growth was still good and blood flow with my cord was as well. I'm so glad to just be solely with my OB again. I have an appt with her today to follow up after my MFM appt.
3. Questions for the group?
4. The temperatures have dropped here. What Fall foods are you craving? It's still blazing hot here (90s) so most fall foods dont even sounds good to me yet. I love soup in the fall and bonfires and s'mores normally.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I have soooo many emotions right now. I'm super excited to meet our little guy Wednesday morning, but quite frankly a bit scared of the recovery part of a c-section. All the unknowns about it are driving me crazy. Also, our life is going to be forever different. Not that I didn't already know this, but the day is ultimately here now. All that being said, I'm so ready to no longer be pregnant. This morning was so weird not having to get up and drive to work since my last day was Friday. I am logged in doing a couple easy last minute things I didn't get to, but it's literally only about 30-60 minutes worth of work. I could totally get behind this type of work day
3. Questions for the group? For those who have had a scheduled c-section before, what in the world do you do in the 2 hours between arriving at the hospital and the actual surgery itself? I know there's IV set up, eventually administering the spinal, I'm sure paperwork of some sort, but it seems like so much time in between.
4. The temperatures have dropped here. What Fall foods are you craving? I WISH the temps had dropped here It's still in the 90s every day, although, I guess I'm happy to say it's not in the 100s? I want all the warm fall comfort foods. Soups like chicken noodle, chicken & dumpling and then to be able to really enjoy my nice hot coffee rather than sweating my butt off to drink it.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I am done done done being pregnant. DS was born at 38+2 so I hope DD is similar. I am so uncomfortable and she is so low it is just constant extreme pressure and feeling like she’s going to fall out. Random contractions but nothing consistent.
3. Questions for the group? Nope!
4. The temperatures have dropped here. What Fall foods are you craving? It is still way too fucking hot here. I am not happy about it. Also all I want to eat are underripe peaches. I could eat a dozen a day.

1. How far along are you? 33+4
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I had my first NST and all looked good. The past week I started to get really uncomfortable, swollen feet, random headaches, super slow and tired...it makes me dread the next 5 weeks.
3. Questions for the group?
4. The temperatures have dropped here. What Fall foods are you craving? Everything pumpkin and apple!

1. How far along are you? 22 weeks
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? My in-laws left yesterday after over a week of being at my home. I only hid in the bathroom from them a handful of times. I think even the two year old breathed a sigh of relief.
3. Questions for the group? Where are you getting cheap bras? I got two from target: one was great, the other had an underwire that was really uncomfortable. I'm larger chested and while the weather is still hot, I need something that lifts and separates to keep me from being a sweaty mess.
4. The temperatures have dropped here. What Fall foods are you craving? We are still in the 90s, too. But I just found this fancy ramen at the grocery store and dropped the a/c a degree just so I could enjoy it for lunch. I was not disappointed. I'm ready for chili and pie. Also getting excited for a holiday season full of comfort foods.
Hope baby decides to come soon aprilsails and that you can get some rest in the meantime, at 4 cm I would be going crazy waiting.
1. How far along are you? 18+6
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? Starting to feel a little more, far from consistent I’ll take it!
3. Questions for the group? Any nonalcoholic nonsoda drinks you guys recommend? I’m getting SO tired of drinking water all the damn time. I miss wine, not so much the effects as just enjoying a beverage that has substantial flavor.
4. The temperatures have dropped here. What Fall foods are you craving? Well, they’ve dropped here too but only into the 90’s- I’m glad to be done with triple digits but sadly it isn’t soup weather yet. Once it is I’ll probably eat my weight in grilled cheese and Trader Joe’s tomato soup. Damn Delicious’s chicken potato chowder will go on my dinner list at that point too, along with baked ziti though I won’t wait for it to cool down more for that one. Basically if it has carbs and cheese, I want it.

2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? Our big shower was yesterday and it was so lovely - we got so many nice things and just had a great time. The giftcards also allowed us to order a few remaining big items to finish up the nursery so I'm excited for those things to arrive this week.
We also did our hospital tour last night and my 1 take-away was that if you deliver anytime from 8pm-7am, there is no food service for you LOL. I'm serious about my hunger so loads of snacks just went on the hospital bag packing list.
3. Questions for the group? I asked my induction without pitocin question in a separate thread and am SO appreciative of the great info and insight! Thank you!
4. The temperatures have dropped here. What Fall foods are you craving? It's hot as hell here. I'm still decorating for fall this week, because if I wait for fall it'll never happen.

sloan favourite non-alcoholic drinks are: Lemonade and ginger beer mixed half and half- kind of like a dark and stormy Orange juice and sprite/7up Sparkling ciders- we’ve been able to get these great organic ones from Costco that are non alcoholic and are peach, pomegranate, and raspberry blend flavours. Also flavoured sparkling water and weird ice tea mixes. There’s lots of those out there too. ETA: I’m Canadian so I also love virgin caesars. This would be like a virgin Bloody Mary if you’re into that sort of thing.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I got my first "are you expecting?" at 11w!! I haven't gained any weight yet, but I guess my abdomen is looking a little...distended? Anyway, I wouldn't have been upset by the question because some people at work already know, and I didn't ask them to keep it a secret, so I figured the word would get out at some point. But this colleague specifically said "I noticed your bump and thought I'd ask!" And now I'm feeling self-conscious about people scrutinizing my body at work.
3. Questions for the group?
4. The temperatures have dropped here. What Fall foods are you craving? I am craving fall temperatures We are still in the 90s with no end in sight!!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I guess I am going to make it to my csection date on Friday. At this point, I have things planned for the week and family coming in on Thursday so I will be a little annoyed if they decide to make an early appearance. LOL. Baby boy's growth scan last week showed he is measuring 9lb 2oz (!!) and baby girl is measuring 6 lbs 13 oz, I am measuring 50 weeks and am SO DONE.
3. Questions for the group? None this week
4. The temperatures have dropped here. What Fall foods are you craving? It is still pretty hot here, but I always crave sweet potato casserole!
rbp, I am horrified for you. Who in their right mind asks that?? sloan, I drink Honest juices when I need something with some flavor. murphybrown, I got some softer bras from Motherhood Maternity when they have sales and I have liked them. farfalla2011, from what I recall with DS, it really was just that, getting hooked up to IVs, signing paperwork, etc. and just trying to relax before getting rolled in. Once I got in, they had to do the spinal and get all the anesthesia in place before they got started. Good luck on Wednesday!! aprilsails, have you checked out the Spinning Babies website? It might help? Maybe not?
Post by aprilsails on Sept 16, 2019 14:15:57 GMT -5
pickel I’ve been rocking the spinning babies maneuvers for about two months now. They only think he will likely turn during labour since unfortunately his head has already engaged. Too much time spent at a desk apparently.
I just got home from a 7km walk. I feel a bit crampy. Come on baby get out!
We also did our hospital tour last night and my 1 take-away was that if you deliver anytime from 8pm-7am, there is no food service for you LOL. I'm serious about my hunger so loads of snacks just went on the hospital bag packing list.
I'm right there with you on eating! I realize there will be recovery and pain meds that will interfere with my normal eating schedule and it will be different, but I wish I had an idea of when I'll be able to eat real food on Wednesday! I am thankful for a first thing in the morning appointment so I'll hopefully be able to eat at sometime in the afternoon. My days are normally scheduled around eating haha

1. How far along are you? 13w
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? We told DS and our parents about the baby over the weekend! DS was stunned and didn't know what to say. Our parents were shocked because everyone assumed we were one and done.
3. Questions for the group?
4. The temperatures have dropped here. What Fall foods are you craving? All the soup! And apple cider.

2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? Not too much going on, just what seems to be normal aches/stretching. I did dance the night away for 4 hours at a family wedding last night and was feeling pretty proud of myself, but boy was I sore today!
3. Questions for the group? We are meeting with a potential pediatrician tomorrow. Any recommendations for questions to ask or topics to cover? I have asking about any background she has in lactation, as well as guidance on vaccines before flying, and traveling with an infant to elevation (we would like to travel to Peru while on mat leave). Anything else I should be asking?
4. The temperatures have dropped here. What Fall foods are you craving? Craving all of the fall foods and excited to do some fall decorating too. Hoping to make some lentil and chicken soups soon. Fall/Winter I go into major soup mode!

1. How far along are you? 18 weeks 5 days
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? Been feeling very overwhelmed this week. Work has been crazy, and only a few people know I’m pregnant so juggling all of the appointments have been fun. Plus we are officially in our 5 month and have done nothing to prepare for this baby. So much to do in the next 4 months to get ready
3. Questions for the group? Did anyone use a doula? If so was it worth it?
4. The temperatures have dropped here. What Fall foods are you craving? Apple cider

2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? i'm so over jeans and pants that are not leggings. i think i'm done with them. dresses and leggings from here on out. feeling huge and getting super tired so fast. i just want to sleep an extra two hours every morning, can that be arranged? it's impossible to get to bed much earlier than i already do and i'm already planning a two nap weekend even though it's only monday.
3. Questions for the group? no questions but an update to a previous question. we traded in our britax bucket (set to expire in early 2020 for the chicco keykit since there was that super good deal at target. i just got the snap and go frame from bed, bath and beyond with a 20% off coupon, so once that gets here we will be set for the first few months. kept our britax stroller and will use that once baby can sit up. i also decided to go ahead and get the spectra pump. woooooo.
4. The temperatures have dropped here. What Fall foods are you craving? all the pumpkin things, like every year. so excited i'll get to have some pumpkin beers soon, they are my favorite. but, like many others it's nowhere near fall temps yet. boooooo.

1. How far along are you? 25 + 4
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week?
We have our first daycare tour today, and I think we have it narrowed down to 2 pediatricians. And the contractor coming out to fix the roof near the location of the Reno and get a new quote on the Reno since DH is thinking about reconfiguring the space a bit more.
Many of my friends still don’t know I am pregnant, just a little fear in telling the world after our loss last time and mostly just being private. But I realized I am letting the anxiety take over each day and I want to make an effort an being more joyful about this pregnancy (which I am. He is very much wanted. But I am also scared). I wrote a Facebook post 2 weeks ago, didn’t post, re-wrote it because it still empathized my anxiety too much, but I still haven’t posted. I have no idea what I am waiting for.
3. Questions for the group?
Who has done a social media “announcement”? Just a post or something creative?
4. The temperatures have dropped here. What Fall foods are you craving? I usually love all the pumpkin flavored stuff, but I am just not into this year. I am actually grateful for the cooler days and the need for sweaters in the morning, except none of them fit great :/

Ouch dock. I hope you are able to keep your bp down for a couple more weeks. That’s not a fun night at all.
With respect to work I think it depends on your length of leave. I would definitely not commit to coming in during your leave, that isn’t right. Since my personal cell is also my company phone I committed to fielding client phone calls and redirecting as required while I am away. My emails should have been redirected to a coworker last week, but apparently IT still haven’t done that so I am still getting them. Since I haven’t gone into labour yet I am ok with passing them along, but things are going to change soon and I’m not getting paid for this nonsense right now.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? We received our genetic testing results and there were (thankfully) no abnormalities detected. We go back on the 27th for another ultrasound to check the holes in the heart. Hoping they have closed by then.
3. Questions for the group? None.
4. The temperatures have dropped here. What Fall foods are you craving? Not really, still drinking a lot of lemonade/wanting all things lemon.

3. Questions for the group? - nope
4. The temperatures have dropped here. What Fall foods are you craving? - Ugh. Nothing right now. I’m sure I’ll be starving in about 20 minutes but at this moment, thinking about food is making me nauseous.

doglove , I too have lemon cravings! It has been by far the most consistent craving I have had all pregnancy long. My main vice is real lemon from the jar (b/c I'm too lazy to squeeze hundreds of fresh lemons) mixed into my water, no sugar added. Everyone thinks it's the strangest craving ever, but I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one!!
dock, my leave will be 5-5.5 months and I intend to be fully off and not working that full time. I am prepping now by working to determine who my team will report into, and bringing my team members up to speed on areas I have been managing that will fall to them, along with trying to lead strategic planning before I leave. I'm 33 weeks now, so over the next 3-4 weeks I intend to focus on transitioning all projects I have been managing to other folks. At this point I still have people trying to dump projects on me, which stresses me out given that my departure is eminent, however it's also upon our leadership to plan for that actively.

During my pregnancy with DD I would eat whole lemons and survived on lemonade through the entire first trimester. With this kid (DS) I ate an entire avocado every day plain for about 4 months straight. Cravings are so weird.

Lemonade has been my longest so far - going strong now for 8 weeks!
WinterWine - I had my H buy lemon juice so I can add to my water and bake with it because I can’t with the fresh squeezed lemons either at the rate I consume them!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? Had my baby shower on Saturday and survived despite the fact that A) I really hate being the center of attention, and B) my MIL tried to pull some truly ridiculous drama the morning of. People were so generous - I have a lot of “Thank You” cards to write!
3. Questions for the group?
4. The temperatures have dropped here. What Fall foods are you craving? It’s still pretty warm here, but I am craving chili, soup and anything pumpkin - including pumpkin beer! Cannot WAIT!
