1. How far along are you?
23+2
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week?
I rolled my ankle REALLY REALLY badly yesterday playing tennis. Like i couldn’t walk when we got home. I was terrified I fractured it or something. Luckily it’s much better today, but as much as I love tennis, glad there is only another few weeks of it (depending on how playoffs go!).
Also- glucose text next week. I always thought it was 28 weeks not 24, but ya know, this is the time of pregnancy my memory starts going, so who knows!
3. Questions for the group?
None right now!
4. What’s your favorite way to treat yo’self when you’re pregnant?
Manicures and pedicures regularly especially when it starts getting hard to bend down and do it on my own.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week?
I start my twice weekly NSTs today. So many appointments now. I hate this part, although obviously I'm glad they're keeping a close eye on baby.
3. Questions for the group?
4. What’s your favorite way to treat yo’self when you’re pregnant?
I don't really do anything in particular. Maybe that's partly why I'm having trouble with anxiety this pregnancy? Idk, I just don't really have time to myself. And I'm not a massage or even a pedicure person, I hate people touching me so I still prefer to do the latter myself even when bending over is difficult. It was much easier to find time to do things for myself during my first pregnancy when I didn't also have a toddler to look after.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I got sent to L&D last week after 2 NSTs showed a heart arrhythmia on the baby out of nowhere. I've now been referred to MFM again to get a fetal echo on Thursday. To say I'm stressed out is an understatement.
3. Questions for the group? Anyone have any experience with late pregnancy arrythmia discoveries? I've had so many ultrasounds, so we know it wasnt there prior to 33ish weeks. I'm just praying it's nothing major.
4. What’s your favorite way to treat yo’self when you’re pregnant? Usually something to appease my sweet tooth. I'm easy to please.

1. How far along are you? 27 weeks
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I bought the nursery paint last weekend. Now I just need DH to get moving and actually paint. My BIL will be staying with us for the foreseeable future. He has no clue what this new baby is going to do to our currently pleasant living dynamic. Stay tuned for how many weeks it takes him to find his own place, haha.
3. Questions for the group? If you had 2 or more kids already (or are about to), how long did you/will you stay in the hospital after kid 2 (3, 4, etc) was born? With my first we stayed as long as they would let us. I liked having the help. With this one, I feel guilty and think I should get back home to DS faster. I'm having a c-section so really my options are stay two days or three days.
4. What’s your favorite way to treat yo’self when you’re pregnant? I feel like maybe I have never done this. I'd really like to get a massage this time since it's my last pregnancy. I'm not big on pedicures and I'm pretty cheap about maternity clothes. This time I plan on getting all of the pricier things that I want instead of getting cheaper alternatives (like actually getting the hatch night light instead of buying a lamp).
murphybrown, I also felt guilty and wanted to get back but my pain just wasn't under control. I had my cs on a Friday and was discharged on Monday. I'm having a cs again and I'm planning on staying. The kids will be fine, plus I'm looking forward to the alone time to bond with the new baby. Your DS will be fine if you want to stay

Thank you, that's really reassuring. Luckily, if all goes according to schedule, he will spend his days following my surgery in daycare so that should give him some normalcy. I do love the idea of soaking up some baby snuggles uninterrupted before jumping into reality.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I’m just so tired. /sob I can’t get comfortable and even with unisom I’m not sleeping much. I’m still working (tomorrow is my last day; induction scheduled for Thursday and my grandfather’s funeral is Wednesday). I’m just kind of over everything right now and everyone is annoying me.
3. Questions for the group? How do I get this baby out before Thursday but after Wednesday midday? Ugh. At my 38w appointment I was 1.5cm, soft and 60% effaced. They didn’t check me today.
4. What’s your favorite way to treat yo’self when you’re pregnant? I’ve gotten 2 prenatal massages that were amazing. I had planned to get a pedicure this past weekend, but that didn’t happen.

1. How far along are you? 30+3
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? Just tired and feeling behind in baby prep but also trying to think ahead, so overwhelmed also.
3. Questions for the group?
Did you do anything to acknowledge/ mark the end of your time before the baby? Because of a planned induction and custody schedule for my youngest step-daughter, I have a likely date of the last weekend with youngest SD that we will be a family of 4. I feel like I want to do something.... but I have no idea what, lol. And DH I just got married 18 months ago, so it’s not like we’ve been a family of 4 for long.
4. What’s your favorite way to treat yo’self when you’re pregnant? Um..... I don’t think I have anything. Between work, school, the kids, and so much going on, I am just trying to make time and energy needs meet. 😐
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? At a work conference until tomorrow and then H and I leave for the NC mountains with our pups for our baby moon trip. It’s a trip we do every year, but this will be our last without a new family member.
3. Questions for the group?
4. What’s your favorite way to treat yo’self when you’re pregnant? I spend A lot of time on Sundays grooming and pampering myself.

murphybrown I went to the hospital on a Saturday night for an overnight induction, had DD2 on Sunday morning and was discharged Tuesday. I probably could have pushed for a Monday discharge, but honestly, DD1 was happy at home with the grandparents and I and DH loved the time just to get to know DD2 before heading back to the crazy

I don't have any experience or advice related to an arrhythmia, but I am thinking of you G22, and hope everything comes out okay.
1. How far along are you? 37+5
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I started WFH exclusively last week and it has definitely helped make things easier. Just working on trying to wrap things up at work in the next few days as I keep feeling like I am going to deliver early, which likely means she will stay put well past her due date. I also decided to decline an indiction at 39 weeks, I'll work on trying to move things along naturally at that point.
3. Questions for the group?
4. What’s your favorite way to treat yo’self when you’re pregnant? I have really tried to stay active throughout, so have definitely prioritized time for exercise which helps me feel like myself, and have treated myself to monthly mani/pedis throughout. I have also treated myself to the things that I have really wanted or would make me feel more confident about my body changes, overall buying fewer, nicer/splurgier things.

Yes my DD2 had this... I want to say it appeared around 37ish weeks? I actually noticed it on a NST but no one mentioned it so I figured it was in the realm of normal, and then a week or so later I thought I was in labor (false alarm) and the nurse mentioned the irregular heartbeat. I had an OB appt the next day and asked her about it and she was pissed that no one had written it down in my charts, apparently. She said she would normally send me to an MFM, but my csection was scheduled for the next day. After DD2 was delivered she was checked out and still had the irregular heartbeat, but it was normal by the next day and ever since. The dr said that is usually the case, that the blood flows differently after birth and things usually normalize. I can’t remember the exact medical phrasing, sorry! I hope it’s the same for you!
1. How far along are you? 38+5, and my last MTBM! scheduled for a repeat csection on friday!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? only two more days of work, but have a decent amount to get done. need to buckle down tomorrow so wednesday can be easy. thursday i took a personal day, my mom gets here to stay with DS1 and we're getting pedicures, yay! friday we will drop DS1 at school then head to the hospital, which is so weird, yet convenient, lol. i can't wait to meet him and see what he looks like.
3. Questions for the group?
4. What’s your favorite way to treat yo’self when you’re pregnant? this time there were two things i wanted to do - pre-natal yoga classes so i could have some time to focus on me and baby and keep myself moving, and i boosted my wardrobe from last time with a fun stitchfix box for a few months. it was a nice way to focus on me, get some new things to mix in and fun (i'd never done a service/box like that before). i also did an afternoon of amazing spa treatments when we did a little babymoon trip and that was great too.

i'm scheduled for surgery on friday and expect to be discharged monday. i'm fine staying longer. DS1 will be with grandma all weekend and will have WAY more fun with her than he would with us and a newborn at home. she's planned ice cream outings, trips for donuts and happy meals already. i figure let him live it up in grandma-land where he will be certainly living his best life, lol.

we just did this this weekend as our last weekend as a family of three. we let DS1 pick all the things, he made a list of everything he wanted to do - bounce place, favorite dinners/restaurants, donuts from his favorite place, movie and basically all he could eat candy, bowling, etc. we were busy all weekend, but he had so much fun, it was worth it. we talked to him a lot about how the next few weekends we will be at home a lot, so this was the time to get out and do all the stuff we won't be able to do for a bit.

Thank you for sharing! I'm so glad it wasnt anything major for your DD!
Initially it showed up 2 weeks, but no one mentioned the arrythmia specifically, just that the NST was a bit wonky and we'd tried again the following week. So when it happened again last week, they sent me to L&D to get monitored there. Same thing happened there but they released me after a few hours and just said to do kick counts and watch for labor signs. Nothing about an irregular heartbeat. Then the next day I got a call from my OBs office saying they were referring me to MFM for the fetal arrythmia and I was completely blindsided. The NP was shocked no one said anything when they let me leave L&D.
I have my weekly appt with my OB tomorrow and hope to get some more answers about what she thinks, but I'll see MFM Thursday to get checked further. When I spoke with the NP last week she said that it most likely wasnt anything serious, but they wanted to be proactive and get it checked.
2. Spent the day in the ER yesteday because they thought I was having another ectopic. I had a weird dull ache in my lower right abdomen and then some tingly feeling originally and then my leg turned numb. Sat and wasted my entire day in the ER but thankfully not an ectopic and they were able to see a gestational sac in the right spot.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I do not go here at all, I just lurk to follow some of my friends who are pregnant, lol. BUT...
I had such severe tailbone and lower back pain that I swore I would never have another kid again. It was awful and the only discomfort I had throughout my entire pregnancy. It started at about 12 weeks and lasted until I delivered. Things that helped (VERY minimally) were massage, sitting on a yoga ball, swimming and some gentle heat. I did see a chiro, but I really do not think it made a difference for me. Other women loved it.

I had HORRENDOUS hip pain with DS, and early on had pubic symphysis pain this time around. I’m honestly astounded how much the chiropractor helped (I don’t think it’s placebo, because I was super skeptical and honestly scared a little).

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear you never got any relief. Luckily mine hasn't been severe yet, but I can only imagine it will get worse as I get further along in this pregnancy. Thank you for suggesting some things that may help.

I may need to find a chiropractor. So many women say it can help.

I was basically at the “it cannot possibly get worse” point and figured worst case I’d waste my money. I did draw the line at bringing DD once she arrives, even though they push for it.
Look for someone trained in the Webster technique, I googled to find mine.
2 Not much going on, just working to increase calorie intake and I bet I will have a good gain in 3 weeks.
3 Any back pain ideas? My lower back/hip hurt and spasm. I'm a newborn and family photographer and this is my busy time of year so I'm always bending and running after kids. I also have a 2yo who needs to be lifted. Tylenol is a joke. Heat is helping. Anyone know if topical things like bengay or salon pas are ok?
4 I've not done much to treat myself aside from getting a house cleaner. I got a good cut and color around 12w because I was endlessly sick and just feeling all around lousy and wanted something to perk me up.

1. How far along are you? 30w5d
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? After several weeks of being super uncomfortable, especially when standing for long periods (I bake! It’s a lot of time on my feet!), last week I gave in to the Facebook ads and got a blanqi support belt thing. I ordered it on amazon prime. I was skeptical bc $38! But omg so worth it. I can not only stand and bake for an hour or so without feeling like my abs are splitting for the rest of the day, but I also walked around the zoo with the kids for 4 hours and was totally fine. It’s been $38 well worth it. Also I made some cookies to bring to the hospital to thank my doctors and nurses. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to make some cute cookies (they are living in the deep freeze for the next few weeks).
3. Questions for the group?
4. What’s your favorite way to treat yo’self when you’re pregnant? I take a LOT of baths. Fall scented candles are a given. How much Epsom salts I require depends on the day. I often check out when H gets home and he will feed the kids and I hide in the tub in silence for an hour or so.
2. Not much going on here! Anxiously awaiting my anatomy scan in two weeks.
3. Nope
4. Does sleeping count?
murphybrown, I stayed for the full two nights with my second. My mom brought my oldest in for a few hours every afternoon, after which she happily went off with Grandma, so I enjoyed my alone time with my new baby. This time, I’m due during flu season and my kids probably won’t be allowed to visit, so I’ll likely ask for early discharge.
1. How far along are you? 24+1 today. Viability! Though she needs to stay put at least three more months.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? Finally got my flu shot yesterday- went to Target since they give you a $5 coupon for doing it there and my OB office doesn’t do them so I had to go somewhere anyways. Have my 24 week appointment today so I get to hear her heartbeat which is always reassuring.
3. Questions for the group?
4. What’s your favorite way to treat yo’self when you’re pregnant? With DS I took a lot of baths, I need to do that more I just never feel like getting my butt off the couch after we put DS to bed. Mostly I eat my favorite desserts. Since our grocery bill benefits from not drinking I feel zero guilt buying high end ice cream.
