We have a pool. It is a rectangle. My yard is also a rectangle. I just found the as built survey we had of the yard when we redid the pool house and have learned that my pool is not squared up to the side of the yard. As in, it's slightly crooked.
I've lived here 10 years and clearly never noticed but now it's all I think about when I look back there.
Is it square to the fence, just not to the property line?
The fence is on the property line. It is square to neither. By, like maybe 6-12 inches. I am 100% ridiculous here.
But it just reminds me that the same people who put in the pool were the ones who bought and installed a like $2000 range hood, but didn't bother to hook it up to electrical or a vent that vented outside. All flash, no attention to detail. I am renewed in my annoyance at them for all the random small shit we've discovered over the years.
At my last house, something was crooked in the kitchen. The backsplash started on the left with one full tile at the top and full tile at the bottom. By the time you got to the right, there was a full tile at the top and a sliver on bottom. I’m not sure if the upper cabinets or the lower cabinets were the culprit. Drove me crazy. I noticed it when I was cleaning one day and then it stood out like a sore thumb.
There is a house that I drive by everyday that added on a covered patio in the back. One side of the roof is caving in some. It really bugs me! I’ve wondered if the homeowners even know since they probably can’t tell from their yard!

These people a few blocks down built a very expensive, brand new house. There is an AC unit or something that takes center stage under the front window. If you architect can't come up with a plan to put in on the side or in back, like a normal, at least put a cute little fence in front of your main stage appliance.
When my husband mis-matches my son’s socks. Like he’ll match a pair with red stripes on the bottom to a pair that’s plain on the bottom. It absolutely doesn’t matter at all once C has shoes on, but it bothers me so much that I have to undo the sock balls and search for matches.
Keeping with the "house" theme, a family bought a really pretty house down the street from us. It has a big bay window in what I would guess is their dining room. They have three large framed paintings/prints just leaning against the windows. You can see the wire that they're meant to hang from. They've been leaning against the windows for maybe 2 years! YEARS! It's all I see when I drive past the house. I don't get it.

Oh, yeah. Our neighbors have a corner hutch blocking like 1/3 of a picture window in their dining room
Well, I literally have OCD so quite a few things. But, in general, it bothers me when other people don't follow the rules. Like, I can't roll with the punches when it's like, "this is the policy at work," but then people don't have to follow the policy. It's a rule. The POINT is to follow it.
This blends nicely with my H's approach to life as the child of two lawyers that all things can be challenged and what applies to who is a matter of interpretation.
An example closer to yours though is that in our last house, the elevation was colonial, so, five windows across the front - two in the master, one in a guest room, two in a larger bedroom, same on the bottom floor in the living room and dining room. But NONE of them were equidistant from each other or the walls. WHY? It made me batty for years.

One of our living room windows is like that. It’s on a slight angle. Our house was built in the 50s so I assume it’s settling-related but we had the foundation checked and it’s not that.
My OCD thing is when people leave lights on rooms they’re not using. Oh! And when our neighbors’ guests park in “my” spot in front of our house. It’s a public road, but I feel this irrational rage when I see a car there. (We only have a one-car garage.)

I have irrational rage about this. We do not park in front of our house. We only have one car and we park it in our driveway, which could reasonably hold 4 cars if 2 sets parked tandem. We also have a one car garage but we don’t park in it. Our next door neighbors have a similarly sized driveway and also have a garage (2 car) but they own 3-4 cars (for 2 adults) and instead of parking in their driveway or on the street in front of their own house, they ALWAYS park in front of our house. There are about 3 car lengths of space in front of theirs, and about the same in front of ours but they never park on “their own” part of the street.
It’s petty because it is a public road but it’s annoying that they have so much space and park right outside of my damn picture window where I have to look out at their car and tromp across my lawn to get to their front door and bust up my curb with their bad parking.

I have two types of black & gray striped socks. Half are the same stripes, but the other half are normal stripes up the ankle, but the foot part alternates wide and narrow strips. H always pairs one of each. I swear he does it just to keep things interesting. When I have shoes on, you can’t tell. But it bugs me.

Leave them a note? We had some tiles missing from our roof we can’t see and didn’t know until we got a leak in our bedroom. I wish someone had told us!
Ditto on the public parking on my street. There is a very popular restaurant kitty corner and a block up from us and it has really brought the traffic. I’m completely, ridiculously annoyed at all the cars on my street now.

When I’m at the store and people start putting their stuff on the belt before I’m done unloading. Hello YOU CAN SEE MY FULL CART, DUMBASS. It’s super annoying to have to constantly shove their stuff to make room for mine.
Also, the rules things. It’s so bothersome when rules exist but they’re followed willy nilly. The kids soccer organization is run like this and it drive me insane. Not that it matters in the grand scheme of things, but my kids have lost games bc of people randomly following/not following rules.

When my mom calls, she says, “Hi Mel! This is your mom.” I know who you are!
I was over my grandma's once and heard this message from my cousin: "Hi, Grandma! It's your grandson, John." WTF??
I don’t understand what’s wrong with this. I have a very uncommon name, and if I just said my name, I’m fairly sure my grandmother would know that it was me, her granddaughter. But a more common name? She probably knows ten people named John, and would appreciate knowing that her grandson John had called.
Two things house related. 1. Our neighbors garland on their balcony is crooked. I REALLY want to go over and fix it. 2. Another neighbor has had a suitcase on their porch for three weeks now. It’s a nice one too.
I get way too emotionally invested in things that have nothing to do with me. Tonight I was at target and they were arresting a woman for shoplifting. I started crying because I felt so badly for her. She took children’s Tylenol. I went up to the officers and offered to pay for the Tylenol, and instead they started berating me and telling me to stop interfering with their investigation. They were literally manhandling her and treating her so terribly, over such a small thing. I definitely don’t condone shoplifting, but I can’t stop thinking about her. Yesterday, at the airport, there was a woman with the lost bag and they were giving her the runaround. Since I fly a lot, I offered to step in and try to talk to them. She was very grateful. My husband was super annoyed though because it took an extra 30 minutes. Basically, I think I care too much about things and other people, and while I don’t think that that’s a bad character trait, I probably should spend more time on things that actually affect me.

If you're calling her grandma, it's her grandchild.

When people respond to an “annoyance” thread with “I’m annoyed at myself for XYZ.” I don’t know why that bugs me, but it doesn’t seem in the spirit of the question, lol.
My neighbors recently redid the exterior of their house. New siding, windows, etc. the siding is not level with the porch roof. It’s a full piece of siding on the left and by the time it gets to the right side it’s only about 1” tall. Drives me batty every time I drive by.
