People keep using the term "establishment" and I don't think they know what is actually means. I am calling people out on it left and right on my friends' FB posts. Kamala Harris was establishment... AYFKM? So that's been fun and by fun I mean banging my head against brick wall fun.
Also the establishment kind of is not so bad.
Trump is an anti-establishment guy, and he turned the GOP from a party that was run of the mill gross and corrupt into a white nationalist money laundering ring that is an arm of the Russian government.
People who are committed to the Democratic party will behave in the best interest of the party. The DNC may suck, but I'd rather a team of people committed to building a good party, than some outsider who wants to burn it all down, or will govern without any regard to what it does to Dems down ticket or the party's future success.
Right, watching Nancy Pelosi in action is fantastic and she is "establishment."
What gets me about the "establishment" line is the double standard. A white male CEO can run as an "outside the establishment" candidate, but the most viable path to political power for white women and POC remains "the establishment."
It feels like changing the goalpost. For centuries, white dudes didn't let white women and POC have access to political power. Now that they're busting in, the white guys are rebranding elected offices as "the establishment."
I'm getting a root canal next Monday and I'm really hoping the doctor who does my procedure is an "establishment" endodontist. I prefer to hire/vote for people who know what the fuck they're doing.

She was my top pick also. But the news from staffers this last week or so has had me wondering what was going on behind the scenes. Ultimately, I think she made a poor choice with Juan Rodriguez as her campaign manager.
