Professor Karlan is NOT having R’s BS, & I’m here for it! Called out out doug collins BY NAME and says she is INSULTED by his suggestion that she hasn't reviewed the fact. Says she's read every transcript and the testimony of every witness.
This was the BEST!
Bummed I have to get on a call I'm leading right now. I want to keep watching!
Me too.
I wonder what Collins thought was going to happen by demeaning the witnesses.

Ok, I disagree with this dude, but at least he is presenting his side thoughtfully and in a measured manner. If the rest of the GOP could conduct themselves like this fellow, we might be able to have an actual discussion and :shocker: work together on things.
I appreciate that Turley isn't just saying IT'S WRONG. He is saying some things I disagree with but at least he's not trying to say the entire thing is a sham.

It makes me wonder how the GOP reps are going to question him.

Except... he's talking about nonsense like even his dog is mad. That has no place here
I don’t understand this angle of “there’s not enough evidence...” There’s a literal shit-ton of evidence. It’s not an attack, he DID all those things!
It’s so fucking infuriating. 45 admitted it and then called for it in front of everyone during a lawn presser.
I don’t understand the gop wanting the whistleblower. I guess they just want someone to yell at. In no way would the whistleblower help them. I know he she isn’t coming forward but I wish they could.

And they also want to “out” the whistleblower to discourage any future whistleblowers 😠

I mean, I agree the dog thing was ridiculous. And I don't agree with this being rushed.
But he didn't scream about how the entire inquiry is wrong. He started off by saying he didn't vote for Trump and struck a tone that seemed thoughtful (in most ways). He said it wasn't the "wrong time" to do it, because it's important to investigate when things look wrong. And he said the call was far from perfect. etc etc etc.
He is the first person on the GOP defense that seemed somewhat clearheaded.
I love that they are purposely not calling on Turley because that’s exactly what the GOP would do. Turley also appears on fox so he has incentive not to be all in on 45.
Karlan just made an amazing point that I never really realized. Sondland's point about the investigations being ANNOUNCED vs being undergone is proof that 45 cared about harming an opponent and not about corruption. Put so simply it's really obvious.

I paused the hearing while I was on my call and now I missed a good portion because my local news (CBS affiliate) broke in to show Pence arriving to the local airport. Ugh.

Oh, I totally agree with that. And I think it's ridiculous that he can claim there is insufficient evidence. But his demeanor is so starkly contrasted with the other GOPers that it's hard to even reconcile them together. If they scream and come at him like they will obviously do the other 3, I have no idea how it will play.

Except his whole argument explained by lack of cooperation with subpoenas. Which is obstruction.
I don’t like that he is pointing out weaknesses, but playing devils advocate, think of his testimony in a different way. He is laying out a roadmap to impeachment that could/would gain bipartisan support. I don’t think slowing down proceedings would necessarily be a bad thing.
