I used to get them a lot from the pool deck/locker room in my competitive swimming days. I've tried the OTC wart removers, but unfortunately they never did much for me. They would shrink them, but never get the root and then they'd come back.
I've had them frozen off with liquid nitrogen, and that doesn't usually get it either, at least not on the first try. I have had the most success with having them burned out. My primary care doctors have always done it over the years.

I used the target wart bandaids. It took a long time though. I used it for 2 days at a time, then used another. I think the directions say don’t use it that often.
I tried using something similar on ds and it didn’t work. Pedi gave us a prescription for compound w and it isn’t working either. I have an appointment for the dermatologist next week
DS3 had a few warts on his hands, some big, some small. He was 5 at the time, so I didn’t want to try OTC meds. I took him to a dermatologist who prescribed a cream that is usually used on genital warts. Lol. She warned me just in case I went home and googled it and had a shock. It took at least a month of applying it nightly before bed, but they did all clear up. It’s been a few months and there’s currently no sign of them coming back. The dermatologist opted to try the cream first as it was the least invasive option. The next step would have been some sort of injection into each individual wart. I’m so glad we didn’t have to go that route! DS would have freaked!
Someone posted about some treatment from amazon. I think it was in October. Does anyone remember? My son has a wart and we went to the dr. to remove it. It’s still there. It cost us 265.00. I guess I would like to try something else before another 265.00 treatment 😭😭😭
Just start with the regular OTC stuff and see if it works for you. If it doesn't, then you can move on to other treatments.
I had one in jr. high that didn't respond to treatment and I had to have the dermatologist do something to it. However, DD had one that disappeared super quickly and easily with OTC Compound W. I'd start with that first.

I had success with apple cider vinegar. Soak a cotton ball and use a bandage to hold it on over night. Remove each morning, shower like normal and repeat each night. Less than 3 weeks and the wart pushed out of my foot. Full disclosure, this wasn’t the most painful thing ever, but it also wasn’t pain free. However, it was the only solution that worked for me. I tried duct tape and OTC stuff and none of it removed the wart completely.
Lurker, but my 13 year old had a foot fuuuuulllll of plantar warts over the summer. I have a friend who is a PA for a dermatologist. She told me to buy Bazuka wart treatment on Amazon. It’s higher concentration salicylic acid than is available in liquid form in the US (it’s from the UK). She said to put it on nightly, but before putting it on file it down with a pumice board. Then put duct tape on it overnight (my DD used compound W band aids that are also treated with salicylic acid instead).
She did that for a couple months and was able to get one of them gone, and shrink the massive one. And then when they were much smaller the dermatologist was able to freeze them off. Then she continued with the treatment above for a week. And they finally were gone. Don’t go to the derm until you’ve been treating it at home consistently for at least a few weeks. My derm at least, will only send you home to try the above treatment to shrink it down to a manageable size to freeze off first. If you try to just freeze them off first you will likely end up needing multiple treatments so that’s why she does it that way. But seriously buy the Bazuka in Amazon, it’s worth it.

With DD we tried the pads, they did not much, she eventually just peeled them off.
With DD, he had warts all over his feet (like 4 or 5 of them) and a huge on on his palm.
This made them all fall right off in like two weeks without and sort of consistent use (he didn’t always want to do it and it wasn’t worth the fight). And then healed super fast.
My pedi said he all busy refuses to treat them in his office as the freezing off hurts, can be pricey and doesn’t usually work.

My youngest son had two feet full of them over the summer- about 13 total. At one point it hurt to walk. Pedi recommended a podiatrist or let them go. He was in pain so I was going to call for an appointment. But one started to peel and fall out. We hadn’t done any sort of treatment. The rest shortly followed. Most were gone in about 3 days, with all of them gone in about a week or 10 days. I think they had run their course and his body was rejecting them. They came out like little seeds.
I would start work the OTC stuff for warts. It has salicylic acid. My brother used the canned air for cleaning computers on his when he was younger and they never came back but that is not the recommended treatment.

This is what I use in London. It's awesome. And if it doesn't shrink them, then I go to the GP. Usually what happens for me is that they shrink and then eventually go away on their own.
