I figure lots of could use this now so post all gifts questions here.
I have no idea what to get my 3.5yo boy as his big Santa gift. He already has a million things from his older brother and everything he wants is small. He has all the bikes, paw patrol, superheroes, kitchen set, fort, etc. already. Santa will bring big brother a hoverboard so I don’t want little bro to get a $20 toy and have it be so uneven. We only get them 4 gifts (want, need, wear, read) so it needs to be something special as Santa brings one big want in our house. I’m thinking maybe the sea patroller but idk about more paw patrol stuff.
ETA. Maybe a power wheels?
UPDATE: We went with a motorcycle power wheels at speed of a whopping 2mph. We will see how this goes. I think he will love it.
Does he have magnatiles? A big set of the real ones will run over $100. DD1 got them when she was 3 and the kids still use them a lot (10 and 6.5). They’ve held up perfectly and they get abused.

sandandsea, I think a power wheels would be a good gift. The batteries take forever to charge, so I would recommend charging it a couple days in advance of Christmas since he'll be excited to try out his new gift!
I need gift help for my parents. I usually get my dad concert tickets, but there aren't any concerts in our area that he would be interested in attending. I'm thinking jewelry for my mom since they had their house broken into a couple of years ago and a lot of her jewelry was taken. My parents are in their 70's, don't travel except for camping, my mom likes gardening, my dad is a farmer.
supertrooper1, is their a master garden class you could sign your mom up for? What about a weekend trip into Seattle or over to Victoria?
Shopping vent: BIL wants this special LA Charger t-shirt that I can find no where in store here. I ordered it from NFL.com with the 4-7 standard shipping yesterday. The tentative arrival date is 12/20 because processing can take up to a week before it shifts. So I will be the idiot shipping stuff the last second. BIL also said 4yr nephew wanted this $30 ball cap. DD told me no way she would put her name on a ball cap that nephew can't even wear to school and that can get lost too easily. So we got this cool stem building kit that is aged from 2-7 instead.
sandandsea, Skateboard? We only do 1 gift from Santa, and then we fill their stockings with little stuff. My 4 year old wants a skateboard, which isn't a bad option if you don't have them already.

186momx, off to look into the master garden class. Thanks! Seattle is out since they will even take the long way around to Eastern Washington to avoid Seattle.

Are there any cool camping supplies they’d like. Like the hammocks or blow up couches/loungers I see advertised everywhere?
We have magnatiles and they aren’t a fave. Ds1 has a skateboard and I can’t imagine DS2 trying it and not ending up in the ER as he’s very accident prone.
Dh is worried the power wheels will distract him from riding a bike. So he’s thinking Maybe the power wheels motorcycle type thing. This is when I need Santa!!
DD (7) has said she doesn’t want Santa to bother bringing her anything because she only wants 3 things and she has 3 family members, so she’s fine. I don’t know what to do with that, lol. He’s bringing her some little stuff, but nothing big. DS wants Osmo and a Projex game where you shoot ducks in outer space.
No idea what to get DH. He’s a runner. He has every gadget, shoe, sock, etc, known to man. He’s doing a marathon in Feb. Or at least he plans to. Every time he plans to do a full marathon he gets hurt the first time he runs 20 miles. So I hate to get him something for that in case he bonks again.
My newly 4 year old is the same. We already have all the typical big gifts (play kitchen, baby doll stroller, AG dolls) bc of her older sisters. So we went with a (used) power wheels. Bought one off FB marketplace that is practically brand new and only paid $60. I just didn't want to spend a lot of money knowing it will only be used by one kid.
I need something for DH. And my sister. And my mother.
I'm thinking of putting together a reading box for my sister - gift card for some kindle books, and... something else. Just need to figure out what.
But for my mom and DH? I'm at a loss. I'm considering a toaster for DH since he constantly complains that we don't have a toaster or a microwave. He doesn't even eat toast! (So basically, since the kids and I eat toast every morning, we'd be the ones using it.) (I got him a bidet last year. It was his favorite thing ever)
Round one of santa letters, my kids asked for magic power to turn into animals. Elf on the shelf left a note from Santa that his magic has to stay at the North Pole, so come up with something new. Figured that would save me.
New list? Jet pack and DVD of Frozen 2. I'm totally screwed.

Ds had a really cool train set with interchangeable parts. Easy to operate, battery operated. It seems (from memory) that there were some for that age, because it was during the Thomas the Train obsession.

Does dh have a nice knife? My dh has recently started cooking ribs and loves this knife I got on prime day. I can post a link if anyone wants it. It’s in the $20 range.
Sister or mom what about a lavender microwaveable heating pad? I’m getting them for my kids stockings.
My sister wanted a bunch of cheap necklaces for work that look nice but are more trendy made for a year or two but not heirlooms.
My mom has asked for a new blow dryer or hair curler roller things. Or one of the amazon essential fleece jackets or a nice throw for the couch.
sandandsea Is he too young for LEGO? Wha about a fancy Hotwheels set?
Yes these are all things they love/have. We are overflowing with legos and trains.
Is it fair to say I loathe hot wheels sets? Seriously they never work like they’re supposed to and my kids are always disappointed it’s not like the commercial.
He does have a razor scooter he loves and is good at riding.
I think we have just accumulated too many toys as ds1 is almost 8 so we have had lots of years of collecting boy things and they haven’t outgrown anything yet since they are 4.5 years apart. They are blessed with lots of grandparents and great grandparents who spoil them. Many grandparents send clothes, theirs send toys....always.
And yes, please link the knife. Part of the problem is that DH's birthday is 12/17, so I have to double up on gifts for him. And he's one of those people who buys what he wants, so finding a gift is hard.
I added the not blow dryer to my list however I’m skeptical. He hair is nice and straight and almost dry to start with in the video. If mine started like that I wouldn’t need anything!!

DS is THE WORST. He wants toys that no one sells, he wants to describe a toy he's made up in his head to santa so santa can create a toy that matches his design. How am I supposed to buy that? A lot of ideas he has are off shoots of existing toys on the market, but are different. I was resorting to telling him that Santa has elves that are buyers and elves that are toy makers, but he can't make stuff that require a license due to intellectual property laws...
We bought him and his sister a scooter for christmas, and he told me yesterday he doesn't like bikes or scooters.
mustardseed2007, don't get into it to much just say the elves don't have time to make a toy to order in the 2 weeks to Christmas, so he'll have to pick from existing toys.
I buy presents ahead of time, so I told my kids that the elves stopped making toys about 3 weeks before Christmas and start getting them ready to go out on the sleigh (to prevent them asking for something the night before and me feeling like oh I had to run out and get that last minute thing).

My hair is not straight and I start with towel dried hair and it comes out great in under 10 mins. (Disclaimer is that I have 1/4 of it shaved off). I pay very little attention to my hair while I dry it now, I focus on reading. It's the best. And it also answered my dilemma of what to get for my mom for Christmas.
There is a Revlon version that has like 13k reviews on Amazon (and is cheaper). The Milabu head to head said she liked this one better, and when I bought it it was on sale for the same price tag as the Revlon one. (Also please say I'm not the only one who wastes time watching the Milabu videos on FB)
mustardseed2007 - I’m laughing because I’m feeling the same way. DD2 wants a pony and a puppy. Hard no’s. DD1 announced yesterday that she doesn’t like unicorns. Never, in fact, liked unicorns.
Me: 😳
I have unicorn robes, PJs, journals, pens, etc etc etc all wrapped up for Christmas. Because before yesterday, ALL THINGS UNICORN.

I was asking her about the Dyson and she said she doesn’t like it b/c it doesn’t get hot enough and she does a lot of straightening treatments so needs a good hot dryer.
DH got a Dyson hair dryer for me for my birthday yesterday. I like my $20 Conair better. It frizzed my waves and sounded exactly like the drill on your teeth at the dentist. It’s going back. Honestly using it with that sound so close to my ear was like torture.
