I did the Philly half a loooong time ago and I remember the marathoners had to cross the half finish area and keep going and thinking what a terrible set up that was and mentally I'm not sure if I'd be able to keep going if I were doing the full! That has soured my thoughts on Philly to this day!
I did MCM this year and it was great, and I got in through the lottery on my first try.
How about wineglass? I did the half. I'd say it had low/moderate crowd support compared to bigger city races, but it was a pretty course, well organized, and I think its all downhill.
I'm contemplating if I want to do another full this year, and keeping this list for reference.

The philly half and full marathons are now on separate days so that's not a concern anymore! And we didn't have to cross the half finish line for the full, we just went by a similar area and split off.
Thanks for the input, all, lots to think about! brooke77, Montreal wasn't even on my radar so thanks for mentioning. I LOVE Montreal and its a fairly easy trip from Boston.
I'll def let you know what I decide (and would be happy to meet up with anyone else running or in the area
I haven’t run the full, but I did the Monumental Half in Indy last year, and registered for it again this year. Flat, lots of spectators - I really enjoyed it. Several friends have run the full and have really liked it.
I don’t even go here but randomly saw this on the app and was going to suggest Indianapolis. It’s flat and I’ve had friends come from all over to use it for their BQ course. We are not runners but spectate every year!
I didn't get into Chicago either (such jerks - they know I'm trying to get legacy! lol) so am torn between Milwaukee and Indianapolis. Family lives in Milwaukee so it's convenient - and it's a slightly downhill course. Only concern is the time of year - it's the first week in October (before Chicago) and can be hot.
Indianapolis is guaranteed being cool weather. And it doesn't sell out until around the time of the Chicago marathon (I was keeping close watch because it was so hot this year that I seriously contemplated doing Indy instead of Chicago at the last minute. Thankfully the week of the Chicago marathon the temps dropped and it was fine).
Anyway, the lead coach from my running group says Indy is a great BQ course with cool weather so I'm slightly leaning in that direction.
