Has anyone tried or looked into that cleaning product they've been advertising on Instagram and FB? It's apparently a reusable spray bottle that you put water and then a packet of salt/baking soda/vinegar into and then this device electrifies it or whatever and then it becomes this industrial strength cleaner that is also super safe for kids/pets/whatever but kills everything?
I'm slightly interested because I hate buying several different cleaners for different parts of my house and if one thing can get the job done that would be great.
I’m not sure what product you’re talking about but you can make your own cleaner with water and vinegar and then refill the bottle. You generally don’t need different cleaners for different places. If you’re worried about a specific illness that might be going around in your house you can use diluted bleach to clean surfaces like the toilet.

Maybe, do you remember what it’s called? We tried something like that a few years ago. I don’t recall being impressed with the cleaner, but the spray bottle was the best! It had a flexible tube with a metal piece at the bottom so you weren’t left with cleaner the sprayer couldn’t reach. We refilled with other cleaners and used it for years until the bottle finally broke.
I have naturally curly hair and have made my own flax seed gel. I loved it but it does seem to go bad after about a week or so. I stored it in the fridge too. So it is kind of a pain to make it every week. Much cheaper though and works really well.
Thanks! I can't really see myself making it every week, but it's worth a shot.
Update: I made it! The texture of it kinda grosses me out, but it works great - better than the curl souffle that I normally use, and it was pretty simple to make.

Yeah, I will do bleach if we have an unknown GI bug/virus for sure. I guess I'm looking for a good catch-all cleaner so I don't have to have one for the kitchen and bathrooms and stuff. They purport this stuff to be able to clean eating surfaces without having to rinse with water after like some disinfectant cleaners, which is why it interested me.

I like the Better Life brand for all purpose cleaner. I use it in the bathroom, kitchen, tile floors, on the walls, etc. The only thing it's not GREAT on is windows, IMO. I remember the owner going on Shark Tank and spraying one of the cleaners straight into his mouth. We've been using it for years.

images.app.goo.gl/hj34yh8esVBDmtPu6 Thanks to this thread, I pulled the trigger and bought those reusable cotton rounds. Also found a product to replace my (beloved but supremely wasterful) Say Yes to Grapefruit makeup removing wipes. Face Silk makeup remover pads. I did some research and thought $20 for a single Makeup Eraser cloth was ridiculous; I mean, I need it every day. Face Silk is 3 or 4 pads for about the same $$. They are sitting in my mailbox right now, I'll report back!
I will give a thumbs up to my Pela compostable iPhone case. I had wanted one for months, but waited until the tear on my old case became untenable (of course, the not buying new until you need it part is key) and then I finally bought one on sale a couple of months ago. So far I really like the color and that it is eco-friendly. As a bonus, I’ve found that I significantly prefer the texture/grip over previous cases, too.
Thanks! I just ordered these to use with my toner! I hope I like them! Not only is it better for the environment, but it will be cheaper long term and I don't need to remember to buy more cotton balls! My leftover cotton balls should be enough for any time I don't do laundry quick enough for a few years!
Ok so my reusable cotton rounds came in and they’re good except they’re more absorbent than a regular cotton ball so I feel like I’m going through more toner. I wish I could buy toner at Costco to decrease how many plastic bottles of toner I will go through. Any solutions? Toner/astringent really helps keep my acne under control.

Which toner are you using? Can you put it in a spray bottle? Or, can you just put it in your hands and pat it on?

I use my hands to apply my toner. Just a small amount splashed on to my face.

wanderingback. Good ideas! I’ll try using my hands. A spray bottle sounds good too. It’s just Clean and Clear toner. Nothing fancy, but I obviously don’t want to be going through more plastic bottles otherwise it kinda defeats the purpose of the reusable cotton rounds.
We just finished our roll of aluminum foil and I've been reading up that that is even worse to use than cling wrap even if we reuse a bunch. Which means I really need something to replace it.
Needs to be oven safe Food grade silicone (or other reusable medium) Would love to find one that fits a 9x13 baking pan
Does anyone have something like this they recommend?

These are just silpat mats though right? I need something to cover my baking pan when I put it in the oven and then to top odd sized bowls or fruit when I fridge them.

I use silpats as covers in the oven too. Beeswax wrap for the fridge.
meltoine, I never even thought of that w/r/t silpats as covers. I'll give that a try in the mean time.
And winecat, I was hoping for real reviews. I see some by GIR that look great but have seen the ones from Earth and Friends on IG and am now wondering about those. So many options!

We also just use vinegar and water to clean our surfaces. Nothing different for different areas.
How do people keep their silicone stuff from getting gross. Over time everything silicon I have ever had from baggies to bowl covers eventually gets sort of cloudy/greasy or sticky.

What am I doing wrong?
Every once in a while I hand wash my plastic stuff with blue dawn dish soap. It strips any residue left from the dishwasher.

Can you soak them overnight in hydrogen peroxide? That has got my ~5 year old Diva cup looking like it did the day I got it.
