Another another where to stay poll

We are trying to finalize our Christmas 2020 trip to Disney World. We are currently booked at the Contemporary but Eric is suggesting going back and staying at Beach Club. We have stayed at Yacht Club our past two trips.

Where would you stay?

We’ve stayed at YC/BC for our last few trips because we like being close to Epcot and HS, and the pool is amazing. I don’t know how important the pool is to you. We usually get park hopper tickets so we can hop over to Epcot for dinner after going to a different park in the morning. If you stick to one park per day and/or plan to spend the most time at MK, the Contemporary or Wilderness may make more sense.

We stayed at WL one year at Christmas, and the holiday decorations were my favorite of any resort. But Contemporary is a little more convenient to MK.

Don't you guys do MK on Christmas day? If so, I would think that the proximity of the Contemporary at such a busy time would work best.

I love being able to work from the contemporary to MK. That will always win in my book.

I love Beach Club (pool + popping over to epcot for dinner!) but I’d pick contemporary if you are planning lots of MK time. Beach club also has abysmal quick food options. Sometimes I don’t want to drag my kid into epcot or over to boardwalk, we want to get something quick and go to the room! We make do with the grab and go options but it’s honestly the biggest negative beach club has.

Contemporary, for me! The location would be so nice with having a walking option to MK during such heavy crowds.

Our family spends more time at HS and Epcot so Beach for sure. But it depends on how you do Disney.

I will add that forever reason, though, both my kids love Wilderness Lodge the best of all the resorts.

I voted for Beach Club because the pool sounds amazing. We are hoping to stay there sometime. I wish Disney still allowed pool hopping for resort guests, because we're staying at Boardwalk for our trip this April, so we're close enough we could walk to it. At least we can look at it when we go to Beaches & Cream for dinner.

We've gone to WL to eat at Whispering Canyon Café, but it's too similar to places we can stay a few hours away in northern Michigan, so not something we want to pay Disney prices for. For Contemporary, I just don't like the look of it. "1980s modern" (ETA: although I know they're updating the decor, the building itself is very 1980s modern) has never been my favorite style.

I voted for Beach Club. I would only do Contemporary if you aren't in the Garden wing - I'd want to be in either BLT or the Tower rooms.

Voted for Wilderness because it's on the monorail and I don't personally like the contemporary theme-ing and if you stayed in that same Beach Club/ Yacht Club area last time, it's time for something new!

Wilderness isn’t on the monorail. You can take a boat to MK though.

This is why I booked a split stay here for next week. So DD can get her heart's content of MK! On our past 2 trips, we've barely made it out of Fantasy Land so she has a lot to explore.

I have heard great things about Wilderness Lodge over the holidays so I would consider that. However being able to walk to MK is also really tempting.

For the holidays I prefer the theming at Beach Club and Wilderness Lodge over Contemporary. However, going actual Christmas week, I'd probably do Contemporary or Beach Club, despite my love for WL Holidays, for the walkability to the parks at the busiest week of the year.

Monday-Saturday
We will doing all 4 parks but will do 2 days at MK. The last MK will be our departure day.

If you didn't go there so often, I'd vote Contemporary. But I would prefer the convenience of being near two parks, especially during the holidays, so I voted BC.

I don’t think I would bother with a split stay then. I guess I would lean towards Wilderness Lodge.

We do too! It’s our favorite resort and we have been itching to go back to it so when I saw it was less than our original reservation at Contemporary I switched our reservation to it.

I’ve been wanting to go back there, but it’s always the most expensive resort when I check for our dates. Hopefully one day!

Wilderness decorations at Christmas are fantastic!  It's my favorite resort during the holidays.
