Last Friday, January 10th I went to my 38 week OB appointment. They took my BP and it was very highly (160/100). My doctor told me to go home, get my son from school and get my bags ready and head to L&D. As soon as I got to L&D they put me on the monitors and my BP was through the roof (high 180s over 120s). They immediately placed an IV and gave me BP meds, but they didn’t work. They called my doctor and said I was having the baby ASAP. I got hooked up to a magnesium drip (which was terrible) and was told I would be having a csection in next hour or so. He has been breach this entire time. I also started to have some contractions. By the time he was out it was 6:37 pm. They kept saying “what a big baby!” He was 8lb5oz and 20 inches long. I was able to do skin to skin and nurse in recovery which was so much better than last time.
Csection recovery has been easier in a way but also crappy because I still have post partum pre eclampsia and am on BP meds and monitoring my BP.
Gavin’s billi levels are being monitored daily right now. They were still normal but on the higher range so they want them to come down. If they don’t we may have to go back to the hospital to put him under the lights. He didn’t pass his hearing test in one ear so we have to go back at 3 months to see if it clears up. He also has a lip and tongue tie we need to take care of.
Hoping we can get a break soon and really just relax at home. Gavin’s big brother Gabriel is in love with his little brother. I am happy he’s in full day kindergarten so we don’t need to worry about entertaining him 24/7.

He is the cutest! I’m sorry to hear about his bilirubin levels; I hope they resolve quickly so he can go home.
I’m sorry to hear about your BP, too. I’m glad your doc took it seriously. Mine was elevated postpartum with my first and I also had a c/s. It was a lot to deal with on top of having a newborn. Hugs!

Congrats! He is adorable! What a whirlwind story. I’m glad everyone is here and safe. FX that your BP and his bili issues resolve quickly. DD1 had moderate jaundice nitially and luckily we were able to clear it enough so she could go home with me. I have lots of adorable pictures of her sunbathing in front of the window at home. She’s a healthy (and WILD) almost 4yo now!

Congratulations, he's SO cute! I'm so sorry to hear about the pre-e, I delivered DD at 38w due to sudden onset pre-e and was then rehospitalized with pp pre-e when she was 4 days old and had to do 24 hours of mag and the whole bit. I hope you are feeling better and that Gavin gets to come home soon. <3
