Hello, all. I recently posted about doing a quick WDW trip in May. DH and I talked and we decided to scratch that and try to go in November. We were just there in October and the kids had an amazing time. We did Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and thought it would be fun to go when the Christmas decor is up.
I just requested a Beach Club or Polynesian studio for Nov 13-17 through DVC Rental Store. Those with experience, how likely is it that I will end up with one of those? We're crossing our fingers!

I'm not sure how likely you'll be to get them - I think it just depends on whether someone who owns at those resorts are interested in renting out their points. Food & Wine typically runs through mid November so Beach Club may be harder to get than Polynesian.

Poly is wide open right now as well as a few other resorts. As long as someone with home resort priority has the points available and is willing to book it, you should be fine.

We didn't have trouble getting the dates we wanted at the Poly when we went through DVC rental for March, which is a popular time to be there. It did take a bit to hear back though.

So I’ve already heard back that Poly is available (pending a member agreeing). We are planning on being there for 4 nights and probably doing 2 park days (MK, Epcot) plus the Christmas party.
Is the pool at Poly good? I know BC pool is the best. What other pool is a favorite on property? My kids love to swim.
Wondering if I should hold on longer to see if BC becomes available or try to book something else now.

dancingirl21, we tried to get Beach Club for our December 2018 trip, but it was unavailable for DVC rental (we went through the DVC Rental Store too). I feel like BC is hard to get for DVC rental in general. We booked Poly, and we all loved it!! My kids were 7 and 9 when we went.
The Lava pool at Poly is awesome. My kids asked to leave MK mid-afternoon on our last day so that they could swim one more time in the pool. (Not sure how old your kids are, but there was also a nice splash pad for young kids.) Our DVC room was in the Tokelau building, which is right by the quiet pool. It was a quick walk to the Lava pool and main building. The quiet pool also had a beverage station, so we could conveniently refill our refillable Disney mugs.

Thank you! My kids will be 4 and 7 when we go back. I’m thinking Poly might be nice just to be on the monorail. Thanks for your input!

To make a DVC rental work first you need the room to be available. Then the broker needs to find an owner with points to rent.
I would not wait for Beach Club. The availability for the room is not there. think it would be hard for a renter to get exactly what you requested at this point.
The Poly does have your room available for your dates so now all the broker needs to do is find an owner.

Thank you for explaining this to a newbie DVC renter
We have decided to move forward with the Polynesian. It may work out better anyway, being on the monorail and with its proximity to MK. Hopefully a member is willing to rent to us.

You’re welcome. I know DVC can be confusing at first. Hope they find an on owner for you.
The Poly is great! My kids loved the slide at the lava pool. And we’d always do lunch at the quiet pool.
The other good thing about the DVC rooms there is that you are super close to the TTC- we never actually used the Poly monorail station except once coming back from somewhere.
We also loved seeing the fireworks and water pageant at night (but maybe they discontinued that? It’s been 2 years now.)
Can I ask a DVC rental question? We are hoping to stay in a studio at Boardwalk next year for President's week. we'll put the request in as soon as it's allowed, but does that sound like a reasonable possibility? this will be my first time renting points so I'm not sure what to expect.

I couldn't get one at 7 months this year, but if they can find a Boardwalk owner willing to rent you have a shot. I don't know that I'd be able to estimate likelihood of that though! Good luck!

I would see if you can get your request in now. Then the broker already has it when the window opens. I think you might be okay.

The sooner, the better. No one can book it until 11 months out so it really comes down to finding someone who owns at that resort who is renting out their points.
I thought I can't request until 11 months out. Does this mean I can still put the request in now?
No one can book the room until 11 months out but I was under the impression you could put in your request prior to that. It does look like maybe you can request right at 11 months? I would ask!
We own at Boardwalk Bronxgirl and tend to go Jan/Feb. I wouldn't plan on a "cheap" standard room or Boardwalk view, but if you're good with the Pool/Garden view you'd have a decent shot at Boardwalk for President's week, based on my experiences booking there. We just got back from our annual winter Disney/Boardwalk trip last night. I'm already planning our next one

We just heard back that availability was lost for our dates, bummer. Has anyone been right after Thanksgiving? We would fly in on Saturday and leave Wednesday. We’d probably do a park on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or some combination of those days.

We did arrived Thanksgiving day & stayed through Monday in 2019. We really enjoyed it. Dinner at Liberty Tree, Christmas Party, Disney Springs Tree trail. I want to do it again in a few years.

We were there for Thanksgiving this years. I would go at that time again.
