Indulge me in a goofy question... Do you dye your grey hairs? If so, do you think about how long you’ll keep dyeing?
I have few enough greys so far that I’m handling it with the home box of dye. I could stop now and let my hair go increasingly salt & pepper until it’s full grey. The ease of this appeals to me. But I’m not sure I’m ready to be a person with grey hair.
I have very little gray hair, and if genetics play out, that’ll be true until my mid-50s. What I do have is taken care of because I color my hair to change its color, not just to hide grays. I’ll probably keep doing that.
So I had auburn hair that started to go grey when I was in my early 30’s. So my dark red hair was streaked with white. I started highlighting blonde into my natural auburn and the blonde kind of covered the white.
Until it didn’t.
So now in my mid 40’s, I’m doing an all over color to get my auburn back, then blonde highlights. It usually lasts me 7 weeks or so. It’s $$$$ but I feel better when I do it.
ETA - I will eventually let it go. It appears that my hair will be like my moms, as our hair was a similar auburn. She has beautiful thick silver hair now. Once I know it’s not all streaky, I will let it go. She was in her late 60’s when she stopped coloring.
I get highlights like every six weeks so have no idea if I have any grey hair. I totally think it can be beautiful but I think I’m too superficial to go grey. Part of that may be living in SoCal - not a ton of fully natural people here. I make a larger time and money investment in eyelash extensions so the hair appts seem like not much of a commitment.

I’m holding out for the never go gray option. My mom didn’t start going gray until her 50s so I have 15 years, right? However! It’s very noticeable in her black hair and will surely stand out in my very dark brown and while I find H’s gray kind of sexy I doubt feel that way about my own. I imagine I’ll have it dyed. I don’t dye my hair now though so that’ll be a change.
I just turned 50 this week. 😳 i dye and will for awhile yet. I’m an “older” mom and don’t need to look older than i do. And i feel that grey hair really does age you. I’m not ready for that.
I would LOVE to just go grey but I’m just to vain.
I’m 37 but suddenly have a ton of gray hair. I was dyeing it but I am now trying to grow it out. Check out #grombre on Instagram. I’m too tired to care at this point in my life.
I’m 37 with no grey yet. I don’t dye my hair now and haven’t for around 15 years so I can’t see starting dying at any point to cover greys. But my hair is a color (like a blondish brown sort of naturally highlighted) that greys will probably blend in. I plan to rock the grey and be the female version of a silver fox. Mostly, I’m too cheap and lazy to dye my hair now and I don’t see that changing.

This is a concern for me too as I’m about to have a baby at 39. I saw a woman in a maternity store yesterday and was a little surprised she was pregnant because of how I judged her age. But then I realized people are probably thinking the same thing about me.

I’m 39 and just starting to get some grays. My hair is darker brown but I have a lot of reddish in it and some lighter natural highlights so the grays are pretty well hidden so far and I ignore them u less they’re standing straight up on top of my head. (Does that only happen to me?) I will dye my hair for a long time once I get more gray. I’ve never dyed it before and am kinda looking forward to trying other colors but not enough to dye it now as I generally like my natural color.

I'm 38 and I think I might be all over gray if I really let my hair grow out. SO definitely like...a long time from now. I don't have a date in mind but I don't want to think about it, lol.

I have red hair so I am growing white rather than grey hair. My mom's hair, which is redder than mine, kind of faded in color rather than be noticeably white. She's in her early 60's and more of a light orange. I am hoping my hair follows her path. If not, I plan to let it go natural and not dye. I don't have the patience or the money to dye regularly. As it is I sometimes forget to get it cut more than every 4-6 months and don't imagine I'll be any better remembering with the need for a color treatment.

I am currently trying to disguise my grey with blonde highlights. I’m only 35 and don’t have a lot but its enough to bother me. Eventually i plan to be one of those people that have a mix pf brown, blond, grey that you can’t figure out what color my hair really is . No in all seriousness I’ll probably go blonder as i get older.
I have dark brown, almost black hair. I just turned 40 and started graying at 18. I have to dye my hair every 2-3 weeks. I dye it professionally every 8 and then touch up at home in between. I can’t imagine letting it all turn grey before I am 60. Maybe even 70.
I’m 37 and have scattered grays. I have a lot of natural highlights that seem to disguise them and the majority of them are hidden by the way I part my hair.
Right now, I do nothing. I’m not sure I ever will. Lazy and cheap. And also prone to changing my mind, so my answer may be different in a year.

Thank you for the tip on #grombre - so many gorgeous ladies with grey hair! I’m 39 for a little while longer but I’m seriously considering letting go of the hair dye. Nice to see some inspiration.
I'm 33 and don't have greys that I can see yet. But I am naturally a light brown/ blonde, with the front looking almost white blonde. To make everything even out I typically dye it a darker blonde. I use the boxed dye at home, so it's like $5 every two months and take half an hour. I don't feel like the boxed ones are too hard if you aren't doing something more complicated (like highlights).

I'm 37 and no grays yet. I have brown hair, so they'd be easy to spot if I had any. I'm praying I'm like my mom, who still has mostly dark brown hair (some grays here and there) at 73! (Although my sister is 2 years older than me and she's getting some grays.) If I don't end up getting my mom's awesome hair genes, I will for sure dye my hair as long as I'm working and the kids are in school (through high school).
There is one mom at my kids' elementary school who is full gray (I assume she's around my age) and she rocks her gray hair. I admire moms who have that kind of confidence!

I got a small gray patch in the front when I was 28 and it's always been obvious if I don't color it since I have dark brown hair. I get it blended in with highlights every few months. I'm sure I'll be coloring my hair until I'm at least 60.
I've had gray hair since I had my first kid at age 29. I have quite a few more and I will be turning 40 this year. My hair is dark brown so the clusters of gray are starting to become more noticeable on top of my head. If I part my hair differently or pull it up, then you can't really see the grays. I probably won't do anything about the grays because I'm lazy.
I have been covering grays since I was 21-22. At the salon. Every 6 weeks now. That makes it 20 years. While I will eventually let it go, I enjoy looking younger than my age and am not quite ready for that transition. I envision a pixie cut when I do it. Like Carol from the walking dead in the earlier seasons.
I'm probably just going to let it go unless it looks really bad. I've done highlights once in my life and hated it so my hair is natural and dark brown. I can't picture dying or highlighting my hair. One of DD's friends mom's hair is silver streaked and it looks pretty cool. She said she was just so happy to have hair after chemo that she didn't care that it was grey. She is sporting a very sexy looking A-line bob.
I honestly love the idea of just grasping the grey and going for it, but I'm an "older mom" and MANY of the women I'm around and friends with are in their late 30s/ early 40s (I just turned 50 last week) and I really don't need to feel even older than I already do by having grey hair!
I also don't want people mistaking me for DS's grandmother.

I am 38 and super gray. I salon dye and highlight every 6-8 weeks. I spray paint my roots with that Loreal root spray when it gets close to salon time.
