Hi everyone! I mostly lurk here so I can live vicariously through everyone’s Disney trips 😋 and have a funny/cute story to share.
We were visiting my in-laws in Orange County this weekend and headed to Downtown Disney so I could at least be Disney adjacent for a couple hours. We stopped in at the Grand Californian lobby because I love that place. To get back to Downtown Disney you have to go back through the security line.
As the security guard was looking through my diaper bag, he asked me if I had any mousetraps inside. I chuckled and said no, then he asked if I had a glass slipper.
Me: Unfortunately no glass slipper! Security Guard: What do you mean “unfortunately”? You’ve got this prince right here (indicating DH)! Me: oh he didn’t come with a castle though (maybe not the wittiest answer but in my defense I was distracted trying to get my bags out/open and wrangle the stroller) SG: well here at Disney the castles all belong to the princesses, not the princes. That’s why it’s Aurora’s castle and not Prince Phillip’s...
And he WENT OFF - full sass shaking his finger at me and extolling the virtues of being a princess and not needing a man to get a castle. Then he turned to DH and told him if he (DH) caught me being disloyal and flirting with anyone to try and get a castle while on property to come get him (security guard) and he would line up all 16 princesses and let DH choose one and they could retire and go live in the princess’s castle with servants for DS and I would have to work 2 jobs to support the lazy prince I settled for.
It doesn’t sound so funny when I retell it, lol, but it really was cute and on trend for Disney. I was totally charmed to experience it in the security line of all places! He had obviously put some thought into it, or maybe they are required to have a little banter like that, IDK. Disney Magic for the win!
