FPs for split stay

How do FPs work for a split stay?  We arrive April 1 and are staying at one of the All Star resorts, then transfer April 3 to Boardwalk.  Can we only do FPs on February for the first part of the trip, or can we do FPs for the entire trip?

Update:  I logged onto MDE on my laptop this morning at 7:00 (60 days from April 1), but the website wouldn't let me select FPs.  So I tried on my MDE app on my phone, and I was able to reserve FPs.  I was able to get all the rides we wanted, including Smuggler's Run.

Fps are based on your park tickets, not your hotel. If they can see in your reservations that you are staying on site, you should be fine doing them for the whole trip. I'm not exactly a pro at this though, just planning a trip for March. Anyone who can confirm?

Your fast pass booking window is based on your hotel reservation so for a split stay, you would have to book your FPs based off of the 60 day window for each reservation.  disneyparksmomspanel.disney.go.com/question/split-stay-new-datebased-ticket-system-fastpass-window-395273/

Thank you, alleinesein! I'm starting a new job on Feb 3, which is our FP day for the majority of our stay, so I guess I'll have to make sure DH and I have all our morning things done so we can reserve FPs right at 7:00 and hopefully we'll be done by the time I need to leave for orientation!

The system is jacked up and sometimes it lets you and sometimes it doesn't.  So if it works, great but if it doesnt, then you have to wait.  DVC members lose their everloving minds over this all the time in my DVC groups; they love their split stays and throw hissy fits when they have to call to book their FPs because the system doesn't let them book for the second half of their split stay.
