So far my new report is doing well. I hope the weird early mornings that he has to do for the next few months don't send him running. He is a retiree (early retirement from state government), so technically, he can be choosey about the job.
DD for about 2 seconds, wanted to join the dance team at school, until she found it was work. She doesn't want to play volleyball, but she wants to be known as doing something. I told her, whatever you do, you have to do your best, hence the drop of the dance idea. Now she may want to go back to gymnastics? She hasn't done that in years. I don't even know if they have a 14 yr old class. She hated it and said it gave her a headache.
The girl we think DS has a crush on is coming in for the weekend. She lives about 5 hours away and her parents are friends of ours (and a part of the fun family I have adopted myself into). He keeps asking about her, but then gets all clammed up when we say something. Hopefully this will put off the stage 5 clinger who will not leave him alone. Last time he posted a picture that cooled her for a little bit.
rere, look into a tumbling class for your DD. Our gym offers tumbling for the 12 and up crowd and is open to any skill level. It is mainly geared for those who are thinking about cheerleading or dance. One of DD's teammates older sister started it up because at 12 she was tired of taking classes with 7/8 year-olds.
My dad's new roof is leaking. He has been busy trying to deal with that and phone calls and what not which is making this week even more stressful.
DD has made such improvement at gymnastics this month. She gets to stay on team but they still need her to conquer some skills in the next couple weeks.
School is not going well. They are mid year so required district testing is happening and DD is so frustrated with having to take test every day and says they don't learn anything because they are always taking a test or her teacher is at a meeting so they are stuck with a sub. She is doing an extra at home project for her teacher on Jackie Robinson.

We have to do a hero report for 2nd grade. It’s 100% done at home. I’m not loving it. Ds chose Steve Irwin which is a great choice for him. But it means more reading and writing for ds (not his favorite) and time which is in short supply. I hate at home projects for elementary school.
DH and I spent the morning with our new financial planing team. We are really impressed and I felt so much better about things when we left. I’ve been managing our portfolios, but I feel that I’m officially out of my depth. And we have so many questions about how to handle so many things around DH’s company that we really needed a team to come in and set us up the right way. Also, based on what we’ve saved to date, we are set up well for the future. I honestly breathed a huge sigh of relief when we walked out. We have a bunch of stuff to do regarding estate planning, but we now know what to do.
I have 1.5 clients, and DH is going to hire me if things work out with his new hire. All that work will take up 10-15 hours a week, and that will just about max me out with all the kid stuff and DH being unable to help with anything. Any more than that and we will need to hire more help, so we can make that decision if we need to.

Drama at my former work location is crazy! The small thing that made the news is now a big thing in the news after a directive was leaked to the media. IA has been interviewing my former coworkers and management is nervous after they lied to the press. I'm glad I'm not there dealing with the drama.
DD connected her roundoff back-handspring last night in practice. She got a clap and a good job DD from the head coach and a dog pile from her teammates. She was so excited. It looked like she was flying through the air.
DH started his new job in June. A couple months ago, his boss stopped showing up to work with no warning. HR got involved, said he would be out for personal matters, he ended up coming back for a while, and then resigned to deal with what he'd been out for previously. No one knows what the personal matters are. It's probably something lame, but my mind is speculating some kind of drug or criminal matters. Just about everything else you'd be willing to share the reason.
Anyways, they've been trying to figure out who they hire to replace him with, and the unanimous conclusion has been they want DH to do it. They broached the subject yesterday, and DH seems agreeable to it. I keep asking him what he gets in exchange, but he seems to think he'd move into a managerial role with no additional comp, since they're technically the same level (his salary band as an individual contributor is the same the managerial level), and that seems... not worth it to me. But then again, I have zero desire to manage people. I much prefer being an individual contributor. I also have no idea how big companies with salary bands work. All of my experience is with midsize companies (150-300 employees), and his current company has about 40k. I'm hopeful that if he chooses to do it, he at least gets a nice slug of stock.
ETA: He is also the man who was asked at his former consulting job to stop taking on customer roles and start working on developing a new business line and assumed that he wouldn't get his bonus because is staffing volumes wouldn't be where they needed to be. I had to tell him to make sure that wasn't the case before he agreed to it. He's a smart man, but he does not understand certain things.

My employer launched their new public website yesterday and it still looks like something out of the 1990s. One of my teammates and I were making jokes about it for much of the morning.
ilovelucyvv, we must have the same web developers. Our most recent upgrade brought us into the late 90's. Pretty sure when I started it was the equivolent of geocities.

DH is still on light duty and hating it. But he's growing more appreciative of what I'm accomplishing during the week and understanding of the things that I am not accomplishing during the week. So that's nice.
Our roof still isn't 100% fixed. DH is avoiding calling the roofer. The tile that DH's friend cracked over 2 weeks ago is still on the wall and we havent heard from him in over a week.
I made it to the gym 3 times this week and that's the second week in a row. It does so much for my mental health. I'm also working on a proposal for one of the contractors that worked on our house. His entire account would meet my lofty premium goal for the whole month of February and finish up what I was missing for January. My brothers friend is the controller for a big landscaper and he is working on gathering their info. That alone would meet my premium goal for probably 3 months and I would shit.
DDs had the stupid talent show today. They were both amazing!! DD1 was flawless, got a ton of praise from parents and friends. DD1 and DD2 played a duet and did very well too. I’m glad it’s over.
DD1 came out of school crying because that little psychopath that caused all the trouble earlier this year stomped on her foot over and over again because no one was around. She had red welts on her feet. DH and I unleashed on the principal and our lawyer has been informed. I am at my wits’ end. This stuff just doesn’t stop.

That makes me so sad for your DD mae0111 It sounds like she had a great performance and then the day ended on a sour note. I hope you guys can catch a break soon.
