Omg there was not ass crack showing. Like zero. Honestly didn’t lady Gaga wear less clothing or at the very least the same amount of clothing as these two? Don’t remember anyone having an issue with her outfits.

Remember, people commented on her ‘muffin top’ which is just as eye roll worthy.
Sure, she does. But this should have been a little different because it's a family event. Their talent is undeniable but they can show that off without bedazzled ass cracks.
You don’t think parents take their kids to her concerts?
If that's what you choose to do that's perfectly fine. I don't care. This is a different event.
It doesn't matter how much you want to poo-poo me....it doesn't change anything. The show is over, the post was asking opinions, I gave my own. I'm not trying to change your mind, and you're not going to change mine. I don't care if you loved it, I don't care if you hated it, I don't care if you think I'm ridiculous for not liking it.
Pole dancing in itself is not sexual. When it's in a strip club and the person is naked is what makes it sexual.
Also, the strength required to pole dance is unbelievable. J-Lo trained for months and months to be able to do the movie Hustlers, which she was nominated for a golden globe.
I'm very "unclenched" in general but I thought it was way over the top sexual. Why the crotch touching? Asses right in the camera? And don't try to tell me that's "traditional Latin-inspired dancing". Our friend's 9 year old son left the room, he said he was uncomfortable. He did that on his own, no adult had made a comment about the show until that point.
I also don't think the show is geared towards kids, for one. And, depending on the Latin dance it is inspired from it very well could be. I just watched it again and find nothing overly sexual and frankly, I think if people are saying that then they have very little to no knowledge or experience with latin dance. It is passionate and sexy and I think the show was great.
And given that it was hosted in Miami, the show was right on the money.

I loved the show and thought both Shakira and JLo were amazing.
And I don't get the complaint about them dancing on the poles while young kids are watching. I wouldn't imagine young kids would know about stripper poles. To young kids they'd just be... poles. My 11 and 13 yo certainly didn't associate them with stripper poles.
I wasn't sure if J.Lo fell or purposely slid into the camera. I breathed a sigh of relief when it was a slide. Dancing in those high heeled boots is unreal.
Also, is the half time show supposed to be kid friendly? I guess I never thought it was trying to be. This show seemed tame compared to past shows. They wore dance outfits. Maybe a bit more revealing, but they had on nude bodysuits. I'm not a fan of crotch grabbing in general, but wasn't surprised to see it.
Didn’t this air after 8:30 pm or so? Must everything be family-friendly? Without debating whether it was or not, ffs football is violent as hell, the show aired after 8 on a school night, so why exactly should this be considered a family event?
I’m not sure why the superbowl halftime show is supposed to be family friendly. Do that many kids actually watch? Mine run in and out of the room during the game. They much prefer the commercials to the actual game or halftime show. And after Janet/JT nipple gate nonsense, I would think everyone would be on alert during the show. It’s not something I would actively encourage my kids to sit and watch.

It's not. I don't even think games are kid friendly. The last game I went to I was so annoyed with the drunk fans that I have no desire to go back. I will go to a hockey game or basketball game any day and take my kids.
And really, i don't think there was anything shameful in that show. If they had done it differently, I think it would be doing a disservice to who they are and the city hosting them.

I'm not one who thought it was inappropriate nor do I think football needs to be family friendly, but for us West Coasters it aired at 5:30.
Last year Adam Levine pulled off his shirt for no discernible reason while performing at the halftime show. He just likes to perform shirtless. I dont recall complaints about that not being family friendly. But two Latina women wearing dance costumes that fit within Latin American cultural norms are an issue?
It gets very tiring that anything done by women, and especially minority women, has to be criticised for not doing in a way that must please every human everywhere. Not everything has to be family friendly, anyway, and maybe there needs to be more reflection as to why a woman's body isn't considered family friendly.
Ok so all I took slight issue with here was the crotch touching. But I also thought Adam Levine taking his shirt off was unnecessary. Comparing this to him or Madonna or Michael Jackson is annoying bc they didn’t perform so of course no one is criticizing them right now. You have no idea how anyone would feel about those.
