I know it's only Valentines day, but this stuff sells out so quickly.
Also--I know this shit is bananas, unnecessary, etc. You don't need to tell me, cause I already know. It brings me joy, so there.
I want matching Easter baskets for the kids with their names on them. Ideally I want the PBK ones, but I just can't spend $100 on 2 Easter baskets. It's insane.
There seems to be a good amount of other kinds on Etsy and other sites, but I also don't want to buy crap. So--has anyone bought personalized ones that aren't PBK, but still cute and reasonable quality?
Or just tell me to order the PBK ones. LOL
They don't need to be baskets. Fabric buckets are ok too.
I have been casually looking at Easter baskets for years for my four kids. Like, probably like 4 years now I have looked and thought about whether to order. I have never found anything as good as PBK. However, I can also never find FOUR that I like enough to spend all the $$ on them. By the time they go on clearance, there's definitely not enough good ones. So I just keep looking every year and meanwhile they have a hodgepodge of random baskets collected over the years. I think it's cool that PBK came out with the collapsible handles, too...unless there is a problem with them that I don't know about.
I have looked all over and have yet to find anything that seems as nice or comparable. Target had something pretty good last year, but I think they only had plain monogrammed liners? I want different for each kid.

DS's is from Etsy (liner is blue gingham with his name embroidered). DD's I bought the liner cheap from Ballard designs (it's pink gingham with her name embroidered) and got a white basket from Michael's. DS is 11.5 and has had his basket since he was a baby so yes I'm very pleased with the quality. Unfortunately I don't think that Etsy seller is around anymore.
Little boys Easter outfits are my faaaaaaaavvveee. I love those!!
Order the small PBK ones. They are nice quality and super cute.
They do have some coupon codes, but with personalization and shipping I believe the cheapest I got for the basket and personalized lining was around $65. Yes it’s insane.
It's a little cheaper and I think just as cute. My one concern though is that if it gets dirty I can't really wash it versus the basket with liner I can just wash the liner. I may have just answered my own question.
I got L one from target with just the first initial and then my mom found a matching one somewhere else for A last year.
But I agree that if you like the PBK ones, you might as well get them while they are young and will have many more years of use instead of trying to find a replacement that isn’t quite right.
Maybe keep an eye on the Lands End website for the canvas monogrammable buckets? I don’t see them at the moment but maybe they’ll be on the site soon, if they’re doing them again this year.
We have the PBK one and like it, but we only have one kid.
FWIW, for egg hunts we use cheaper fabric buckets from Target or wherever. We use the bigger basket for Easter morning. To be fair, most of the stuff inside comes from the grandparents, and we add a few things. Since we put it all together, we feel like a bigger basket is warranted, rather than making three smaller ones.

Like, you know you can get a basket for $1 right? lol
I think I'd probably just get the liners you like from pbk and find a cheaper basket. Surely their baskets can't be that unique in shape and size that you couldn't find something similar that the liner would fit in. I think we actually got our Easter baskets at Michaels. Maybe toss a craft store on your list of places to check if you feel like questing for your baskets?
I guess I don’t see PBK as some beacon of quality.
You will use the basket for one day each year. Buy what you like but I certainly wouldn’t spend that kind of money on a basket. Yikes.
Agree on the quality thing. Although, everything I have bought from them has been fine quality with the exception of my 5th stocking not matching the rest. And using it 1 day a year is what's giving me hesitation.
PBK always has things that are JUST a bit cuter than the competitors. That's how they get me. Stupid PBK.

Hahaha! Yes, it’s marketing and they’ve tricked you into thinking you neeeeed it! It’s one day - any basket will be great!

That's what we have now!
I think I might buy the liners and then head to Michaels with it. Worse case, I can always order the "real deal" later, but something tells me that won't be necessary.
I went to a Michael's a few years ago and picked out two cute baskets different colored baskets (on sale $6 a piece), purchased a few fabric pens and decorated them. Voila! Lovely cheap Easter baskets that have stood the test of time. You can see it in the picture here.
I bought the kids coordinating baskets from Personal Creations. They're similar to the PBK style, but cheaper ($14.99-$19.99 with Personalization, but there's usually an online discount code somewhere on the interweb).
We're on year 4 and 6 and they seem to be holding up just fine.
We got DS a $1-ish one from Walmart and it's still going strong 6 years later. Like PP said, it gets used 1 day per year so I didn't really see the need for "sturdiness", lol. Also, while we do an Easter hunt, Easter isn't really a big deal to us with pictures, etc., so it's not like the Easter basket makes it into any photos or anything.

Those are cute! I kind of feel like they're not doing them this year. If they are then they are super late. Easter stuff has been out since 12/26 LOL.
I thought the same thing. But that 2017 press release I linked to above was put out a month before Easter that year so maybe they release them late?
We have three gifted baskets that we use for DD - two identical ones from Made for Retail (idk where these were purchased but I’d bet they’re from a place like Michael’s or Christmas Tree Shop), and a fuzzy bunny basket from Hallmark. Otherwise we’d probably get a basket from a craft shop or Dollar Tree - again, try CTS, they always have stuff like this for each holiday.
I had to go up to the attic and check the tags on our baskets for this post, actually, because I had no idea of the brands.

I'm not an easter person at all but those are cute!

I just went back and looked that the buckets and the description says "machine washable", but then the care instructions say spot clean. LOL. Maybe I need to email them.
I bought metal easters buckets from target on clearance and one of these years I’m going to order vinyl names from Etsy and stick it on them. I have 3 kids and I’m not interested in spending PBK kind of money. Buy them if you want them but just remember they get used once a year and your kids really don’t care about the basket, just the crap inside it.
Better yet I might never get around to putting names on them so I can pawn them off on my kids when they have kids and get all offended when they don’t want them lol.
