So I’ve been asking about cars and car seats but not together . We just bought a 2017 Forester (yay!) and we cannot get a good install on the Gracias Slimfit that I bought . I actually bought two 😢. Our Britax Frontier gets a good install but I hate the seat and I want to leave it in our other car. We also tried our damaged Graco nautilus (just for info, not to actually use) and it also slides all around. If you have a forester, what harness to booster do you have?
Replying again—my MIL has a 2013 (I think). She has a Maestro and a Graco MySize for the smaller kid. She also used my radian 120 and Evenflo Securekid before she bought a second seat.

I’m really surprised by all the Graco replies. We couldn’t get a good install with either Graco - the Nautilus or the Slimfit. I guess we could try other Gracos at BBB. I was thinking we would have to avoid Graco.
We are using a seatbelt install becuas DS is too heavy for the latch install.

So we just tried again, and by we, it’s really H, and we’ve gotten it tighter. It’s within the 1 inch of permitted movement. It’s just sooooo different from every other seat and car combination we’ve done which all don’t budge. I’m so over shopping for car seats that I think we are just going to keep it.
We had an Outback and Legacy and the Frontiers were great! Why don’t you like it?
It’s not the fit, that thing doesn’t budge. The seat itself is not holding up like one would expect, the foam is ripping, the armrests are separating and the straps twist a lot. Our Foonf has had much more use and is in waaaay bettter condition - only a bit of discoloration on the seat. Our Nautilus (which was in the accident) similarly looks in great condition. I know everyone loves them but I don’t.

Oh that sucks! We are on our second kid in ours, had them at least 4 years, no issues!
