Jessica is the literal worst. I got so mad when they were in Mexico, in the bar, and the producers puller her away to talk. Then she compared what Barnett’s trip would be like if he’d been with her—Jessica— so much more deep, blah blah blah. She’s awful.
I only think 2 couples will last. I can’t remember anyone’s names even though I’m watching at the moment, but... I think the interracial couple and the couple with the Venezuelan girl will last. The rest, nope.
Barnett is a douche. Why are so many normal women attracted to jerks??
Barnett and the chick 10 years older than him (plus his other storylines) was a classic stupid girl falls for idiot jock and only hears what she wants to hear scenario that just organically played out in front of our eyes, I was riveted lol.
Ugh I cannot believe Jessica and mark got engaged. She does not deserve him!! She ditched him just like a day ago for Barnett and then came back when Barnett ditched her?!
Don’t feel sorry for Mark; he played right into her hand. They’re all fools. He’s going to go sideways when she ditches him, it’s going to be hard (amazing) to watch.

Jessica’s voice drives me crazy. It sounds normal when she’s doing interviews with the camera, but it becomes an annoying valley girl voice when she talks to guys.

I'm not normally into reality dating shows, but this one has sucked me in.
This interview with the creator answers some of the questions asked in this thread. Apparently 8 total couples got engaged, but they didn't show 2 due to time constraints (or maybe they were just boring!). And they basically spent all day long in the pods.
I hate Jessica. She is the worst. She is just so predictable terrible.
I really felt bad for Carlton when he first admitted to being bisexual. When he said that he wasn't sure that anyone would love someone like him, it broke my heart. But, he was clearly on the defensive when he was talking to Diamond about it, and I found it strange who he kept insisting that no one else had a problem with it, but when they were in the pods, he said that all the women he had dated did have an issue with it. So...maybe he was just looking for a reason out, because he didn't really give her much of a chance. But, god, hen they were fighting I just wanted it to end.
When Cameron was proposing and professing that he loved Lauren so much...after what...three days? I was like, yo, seriously. you do not. lol And Damiens proposal was also german embarrassing. But, Giannina's response was equally awful, so I guess they are well suited for each other?

I actually felt like Diamond was open to discussing Carlton’s sexuality and could possibly have come to understand his fluidity if he weren’t so defensive. That made me sad. In a way I respected him for waiting to deal with that face to face instead of from behind a wall, but he should have been more aware of how blindsided she would feel and that she might need a bit of processing space. A lot of these folks just needed some on the spot counselling; they should have replaced the useless hosts with a therapist lol. Even that host from Love Island or whatever could have done some magic here.

Yes I don’t feel like it was a hard no from her at all. And while I do think face to face is usually better, in this case I feel like it was a conversation that was really better suited for “pre-engagement” rather than “post-engagement”. I mean seems sort of unfair to propose while withholding that info.
And his reaction when she came back to talk to him was unbelievable.

He trapped her, emotionally and sort of physically. He tried to force a magnanimous reaction and then lost it when it wasn’t instantaneous. That whole exchange fascinated me, it was just a total communication breakdown. Gianina (?) on the other hand was so impressive with how she dealt with her partners insecurities, like in that brief conversation she showed him how people in a healthy relationship should communicate. I adore her, I think she’s probably too good for that dude but he could surprise us lol.
the issue with any of these shows, is that they all make things happen in less than three months, when that first liking someone feeling is super high. I would love to see something like this be done in a long game where they are together for at least 6 months before marrying. I don't know, i think it would give people a better chance at success.

BUT NO DRAMA!
I agree. I do believe that they believe what they are saying is true in that moment. I imagine all your feelings are really ramped up in these situations. You are have more emotional conversations a lot faster than usual, so that forms a weird bond. I am usually pretty reserved when it comes to having emotional discussions on dates because, at least for me, as soon as that happens, I form a new level of attachment. In my case, it leads to nothing because over the following days or weeks, nothing comes of it. But here, they are having that hit of hormones consistently, so even after a few days, I can understand why they think they are in love.
Plus, on this show in particular, they haven't had access to the outside world for 3 weeks, so there is nothing else to focus on.

I know. lol It could be more boring for us, but a better chance for them. Do you remember that show where the couples swapped for several weeks? I liked that one a lot.
I find it strange to be upset about someone’s past relationships (as long as they were healthy).
I realize this isn’t a common occurrence but it literally has zero to do with you, so what difference does it make?
It doesn’t seem to me like she’s actually upset about the relationships, more that he intentionally hid it from her during their pre-engagement conversations (which he did by his own admission.)
He is clearly dealing with some very serious internalized biphobia but he definitely handled this poorly and I’m not sure I fault her for being concerned that he wasn’t honest and about how cagey and manipulative he was during the conversation where he did share it with her.
I’m only on the episode where they first get to Mexico. WHY. I DO NOT WATCH REALITY TV WHY DID I TURN THIS ON I CANT STOP WATCHING.
Also I feel like that Rory guy was a plant. The only time we ever saw him was when he was counseling the other guys. It’s like they plopped a therapist in there and pretended he was a contestant.
Jessica sucks so bad. Mark makes me sad. Imagine wanting to have a partner so badly that you’d take that.
The southern guy who led everyone on sucks. Fuck that guy. Again imagine wanting a partner that badly that you’ll settle for that fuck.
Kenny and Kelly and Cameron and Lauren are the only ones with a shot. I think K&K are the only ones who have a shot long term. Cameron and Lauren seem sweet but also still super awkward and uncomfortable. But like I said I have more to watch. Giannina (right?) and what’s his name seem into each other but it doesn’t seem like it’ll last.

I don’t think she was in the wrong here at all. I think he wanted her to flip out, because he hasn’t processed whatever is his hang up about his past. I think he set her up to fail regardless of how she acted.
My statement was just a general statement since he said other people he’s dated have had such a problem with it. It blows my mind because I don’t know what difference it makes in the present.
H and I binged this as our "trash tv break" from doing homework and housework.
I feel Kenny and Kelly, Cameron and Lauren, and Damien and Giannia(?) have a chance. I was rooting for Diamond and Carlton until he changed when they met at the resort. I agree with a PP that I think Diamond was open to Carlton's fluidity but wanted to know that info pre-engagement. It was his defensiveness and he didn't let her talk or say what she was going to say after thinking on it. He kept cutting her off and assuming.
I dislike Jessica so much (and the high pitched voice!). I have a feeling she may string Mark along and be waiting in the wings for Barnett. I do think she is drinking heavily. Mark was trying to have a conversation with her and she was definately drunk. Or maybe I'm just noticing so much alcohol on this show in general.
I like the concept of the show but the rush to get married just makes me cringe so much.
Yes, I hate Jessica's breathy flirty voice. Ugh. Also, has she been on a show like this before? She looks so familiar. Remember the one where they were all living in that big house and had weddings at the house? This was maybe 2 years ago. ugh, this is driving me crazy.

I disliked Carlton from the beginning. The stuff he said about growing up wanting to be Hugh Hefner, only dating beauty queens, etc. is just red flag central. Barnett also seems like a total tool, but his fiancé doesn’t seem much better so maybe that’s a good match, lol. It was fascinating to watch Jessica act like a total ass over him. Was she the one at the beginning who said something like “he seems like he could be a player and I like that”?
It cracked me up that Jessica giddily said, “He could be a literal troll and I wouldn’t care! Our connection is so strong!!!!” right before meeting Mark. Then a decent looking guy who’s a little short comes out, and she’s suddenly repulsed.
To add to the Jessica hate, it was also pretty gross when everyone was hanging out in the pool and Jess and Barnett were talking and you could just tell she wanted him to say he made a mistake so badly. I feel bad for Alex, but also don't because he chose to go into this knowing she was trash.
I also find it interesting that Jess and Alex aren't the only ones not having sex, but she is the only one who has to tell everyone. She is just blah. lol

Do you mean Mark? Jessica is so shallow, there was no way she’d be remotely interested in Mark IRL.

The Wedding House?
I don't know, that does not sound familiar. I need to do some digging.
