I just finished the latest episode.
I get the Jessica hate but I haaate Amber. She annoyed me from the start.
Hated Carlton too and agreed that he set Diamond up to fail. If she didn't flip out then he would have flipped out on her for not flipping out. I'm glad she walked away from that mess.
Lauren is my favorite. I think she's amazing (what content does she create??). This was my favorite quote about her and Cameron:
"Lauren is a black woman whose work as a “content creator” requires a colorful assortment of bodycon dresses. She voices the kind of sanity and self-awareness that makes the show palatable and even interesting, as when expressing incredulity at the whole thing. The scene of the big reveal, in which he is visibly nervous about what she will look like and she is visibly smoking hot, is deftly edited."

Ok I’m not reading this thread cause I just started and am on the first episode. The show already irks me and I’m judging myself for watching lol. But of course I’ll continue! Major eye rolls with the "love is blind, race doesn’t matter." Also, how are they madly in love after 3 days? I get going in to this wanting to find a partner but you do not have to be madly in love after talking a few times.

I can’t stand amber either but at least she is straightforward in her assholey-ness.
And every single one of their jobs were perplexing to me. I guess they were being vague to protect their workplace? Who knows.

I don't get why Amber is the only one with an old job. She is an "ex tank mechanic" - is it because she doesn't currently have a job. Or the job it too boring so they use this other one because it is more spicy?

I think because part of her image is “I can hang with the boys” so tough and “un-girly”
Ok I’m caught up now and I am rooting for Lauren and Cameron. I thought they were a little awkward at first but I think he’s just quieter than average.
But I am SO uncomfortable with Jessica and Mark. “So I’m not into this. I’m taking off my ring.” “But please. Yes. Please. Why? Come on.” “Ok fine I’ll try again.”

I feel like I’ve seen this dynamic play out before:
pretty girl with a nice guy Nice guy thinks this is the best he’ll ever get Girl thinks this is the best guy will ever get Girl walks all over guy Guy takes it Girl breaks guy’s heart Girl comes crawling back guy takes her back Rinse repeat

I was neutral with her until she was at the bar with the 3 dudes in Mexico and was like "just me and the boys, story of my life. Meow."
#deadtome
Jessica is the worst. That voice. If you sound like a cartoon preschooler at the age of 34 and spend your life being like "why don't relationships work out for me?", you need to develop a relationship...with a qualified therapist. Leave dudes alone for a bit.
But Kelly and Kevin and Lauren and Cameron are so cute it almost makes me believe in the concept.*

Omg THE VOICE. And the worst part is how much of an act it is because she doesn’t sound like that at all in her interviews. You’re TRYING to sound like that? WHAT. WHY.
Amber is hard to watch, and I say that as someone who watches A LOT of reality TV. She's so thirsty and desperate, it makes me uncomfortable. It's that second-hand embarrassment your guys are always talking about.

Also, apparently the producers said that a bunch of couples got engaged, they just didn't show it. I really wish they had listed who all/how many got engaged. Even if they didn't follow them.
You would think they would, if only to prove their "experiment" works.

There is a list - hang on I will find it. It wasn’t a lot more than shown. Maybe 2.

Again still not reading the thread yet lol. But are these proposals real?! Are these actors?! I CAN NOT with the dramatics. I didn’t even cry when I got engaged to my Ex after we’d been dating for 5 years.

I’m not sure that anyone 100% emotionally stable would agree to go on a show like this, so that probably accounts for all of the drama and theatrics.
Or actors. Could definitely be that.
As an aside: Someone mentioning jobs up thread reminded me. Wasn’t it Jessica who is listed as a “regional manager”? I laughed and laughed and thought of Michael Scott.

Lol yes very true. But I thought this might be more like Married At First Sight, the dramatics seem much less on that show, like no one pretends to be madly in love after 3 days. My SO jokingly judges me for the few reality tv shows that I watch since that’s pretty much all I watch. I am now judging myself! This is so bad, haha.
Also, why did they even bother having hosts. I don't fault Nick and Vanessa for signing up because it's not like either of them has anything else going on, but what on earth was the point of them?

None and I feel like whoever did the lighting, does not like them or at least, not her. It was not good.

YES. They could have had a background narrator. So dumb.

THIS TOO. she looked terrible and she’s a beautiful woman! I wondered if the lighting was bad for everyone because Jessica looks much older than 34 but Lauren and Kelly look beautiful so I have no idea.

🤣 I watch NO reality tv (unless Top Chef counts) so this is so out of character for me. And reminds me why I don’t watch it- it’s way too easy to get sucked in and overinvested.
