I found myself musing the following stupidity and I'm wondering if other's have their own ridiculous musings to share.
The 22nd Amendment bars anyone from being *elected* to the presidency more than twice. There is no such limitation on someone becoming vice president multiple times, or even becoming vice president after serving as president. And there is no limit on someone becoming president after multiple terms by some means other than election. Like ascending to the presidency after the death, incapacity or resignation of the president. I wonder if Trump, or the next crazy boundary pushing president will try some bullshit like that to stay in office more than eight years
(our very own Putin, American style. Or, perhaps, presidency Bloomberg style).
Is this where we put our (hopefully) irrational fears?
Because if so, and along those lines ^, I think Ivanka will wind up VP at some point or another.
ETA: assuming a second term. He might even put her on the ticket for this upcoming election.
i am not sure Trumpers would race to vote without Pence, the ultra-conservative Christian, on the ballot.
maybe i'm overestimating them. but my thought has been that they basically voted for Pence.
The conservatives I know are voting for Trump because they truly like him and his "policies" and "beliefs". My work partner said the other day that he would really love it if Trump was reelected, and then his daughter was elected, and then his son. He also would be super happy if he was impeached, removed, and then reelected. He said, "how is it any different than when Hilary ran after Bill was president?"

I cannooooot with this.
I think the MAGAs would love it if Ivanka were VP. Then, 8 years later, Don Jr., then Eric....you see where this is going.

I think Pence gave them a good excuse to vote for him in '16, but Trump doesn't need him now.
Right now, if Trump put Ivanka on the ticket they could give white women who lean conservative a reason to not stay home this year - our first ever female VP!
Also, don't most conservative Christians think that Trump was selected by god himself? Or is some second coming? I admittedly don't follow that group, but I think that Trump would do JUST fine without Pence.
If I'm really going down this rabbit hole, Trump puts Ivanka on the ticket and wins, resigns after 2 years making her an incumbent in '24 (and the first ever female president, which isn't that what most of us were wanting anyway?? /s).

Quoting myself - I think Pence would resign and give his full support to Trump/Ivanka, so as not to make waves. He's a puppet and he's always known that, and I'm guessing Trump's co has something on him.

Republicans don’t care about anything other than Trump being a republican. I don’t think they really know about the policies outside the talking points on Fox News.

“God uses imperfect people through history. King David wasn’t perfect. Saul wasn’t perfect. Solomon wasn’t perfect. And I actually gave the president a one-pager on those Old Testament kings about a month ago. And I shared it with him and I said, ‘Mr. President, I know there are people who say that you say you were the chosen one.’ And said, ‘You were.’ I said, ‘If you are a believing Christian, you understand God’s plan for the people who rule and judge over us on this planet in our government.’ ”
“I think evangelicals have found their dream president,” Jerry Falwell Jr., president of Liberty University, told The Washington Post’s Sarah Pulliam Bailey months after Trump’s inauguration. “I’ve never seen a White House have such a close relationship with faith leaders than this one.”
It appears that Trump has embraced the belief himself, tweeting quotes from conservatives comparing him to the “second coming of God” and even proclaiming “I am the chosen one”...

i do know that many christians believe that God allows leaders in certain places or whatever in the sense that they are "ordained" as leaders/bosses/etc. by God.
i have never heard anyone other than Trump himself claim to be a second coming. that doesn't mean they aren't out there. it just means i haven't seen it and not sure if i can handle that level of crazy
