Trump's campaign is bringing on an alum of the controversial data firm Cambridge Analytica, a move likely to raise alarms among Trump critics and data privacy advocates who worry the president will push the technological envelope to get reelected in 2020.
was5, I fear Warren is between a rock and a hard place. She's raring to go after Bloomberg in the debate tonight, but if she does, she'll fail to put any daylight between herself and Bernie, voters will continue to think of her as Bernie light, and he'll likely continue to be the front runner, even if she eviscerates Bloomberg (who isn't even on the ballot in NV). I think the smart thing to do is to start to chip away at Bernie's popularity because his momentum could snowball. If he wins NV, then he'll look good going in SC, etc, and Warren might be done after Super Tuesday. There's still time to take down Bloomberg, but it's a delicate balance.
Also, Bloomberg is now running the ad about he and Obama were BFFs, which is kind of a lie.

I've seen a couple of those ads and just heard one on the radio this morning
Is it a desperate attempt to deflect from the stop and frisk issues, or a pre-planned attempt to present himself as an alternative for voters who like Biden because of his association with Obama?
ETA: And I agree with your analysis of Warren's predicament. I hope she plays it well.

The Bloomberg ads I've been seeing are heavily featuring POC. I think he knows that stop and frisk is coming back to bite him and he's trying the "See, I have black friends supporters!" approach.
Stephen Miller apparently found someone as awful as he is to marry him this weekend, so that’s depressing.
My theory is that no one who works in the administration could find someone willing to date them who doesn't also work in the administration, which is why the whole department is becoming fairly incestuous.

msmerymac, carmenere, the ads featuring President Obama started here a couple weeks ago. I think that was his attempt to take Biden's selling point, now he's focusing on Sanders. I agree that Warren is in a very tough spot. She may do better in the debates since she won't be the main focus of attacks. Maybe the 3 men (Sanders, Biden, Bloomberg) will take each other down and she can stay above the fray.
As for Buttigieg, I heard an analysis on MSNBC that he has hit his wall. The person speaking said it was expected that he would not do well in the South and he won't gain any ground from this point. They were surprised that Sanders seemed to surpass what everyone predicted to be his ceiling in the polls.
I saw this floating around on Twitter earlier, from a few reporters I follow. This is the first news outlet I’ve seen pick it up, and Rachel Maddow tweeted it out as well.
Trump Offered Assange Pardon if He Covered Up Russian Hack, Court Hears

I walked in on the end of a local news story that had a quote from someone saying that Warren, Pete, and Amy needed to drop so that everyone could form up behind Bloomberg to beat Bernie and Trump.
HE’S BEEN IN FOR LIKE TWO MINUTES. SHUT UP. Plus you only named the women and the gay guy.
And then it switched to quotes from Bernie and Bloomberg that was basically- ‘Bernie just had a heart attack!’ ‘So did Bloomberg!’ ‘Liar! I only had some stents put in!’ ‘A LIKELY STORY’

Oh fuck that! Bloomberg has no fucking business being in this race. Allowing oligarchs to literally buy the presidency is not okay. And he’s awful.
Trump is in town to stump for Cory Fucking Gardner. It's cold AF here and some MAGA dipshits camped out overnight. Stupidity is an excellent insulator both literally and figuratively, it seems.
I admit, I am enjoy fluff, so I like some of these people a bit more now, and some a little bit less.
I will say, Michael J. Fox for Buttigieg makes so much sense, this whole campaign I have been trying to figure out who Mayor Pete reminded me of, and now it's obvious. He's Alex P. Keaton.

Ok I can’t imbed it correctly but it’s a Twitter quote from Matt Fernandez: “I hope Bernie wins the nomination and picks Pete as his VP. Then the election becomes Doc and Marty trying to take down Biff.”
Are we placing any bets as to whether he's serves anything and if so, how long before he gets a pardon?
My money is on pardon. I don't know enough to say whether he'd theoretically serve less time, but he's a wealthy white guy, so probably.
As much as I want to see Stone rot in prison, I think the judge was very wise in her handling of it. She thoroughly reviewed and debated each of the prosecution's aggravating factors and fell within the DOJ's new recommended sentence, demonstrating that her sentencing wasn't biased and that she fairly heard out both sides.

I know nothing of legal stuff, but I agree with you. I think it's more than a slap on the wrist but it's also lenient enough that Trump and Co. can't throw a tantrum over it.

He will throw a tantrum and he will probably pardon Stone, but Judge Jackson did everything right. But man, it really pisses me off that none of that matters.
Intel officials warned House lawmakers last week that Russia was interfering in the 2020 campaign to try to get Trump re-elected, five people familiar with the matter said. That angered Trump, who complained Dems would use it against him.
Fuck that guy. He benefited from an independent progressive splitting the vote three ways in both elections. Now that we have ranked choice voting, he’ll never get re-elected, especially with the hard left turn that has taken place downstate.
Of course, why not! Is anyone investigating Nunes, because there seems to be some shady things there?
Maddow also mentioned that Russia is not only interfering in the general election but also the Democratic primary. Not surprising but very frustrating.
