Intel officials warned House lawmakers last week that Russia was interfering in the 2020 campaign to try to get Trump re-elected, five people familiar with the matter said. That angered Trump, who complained Dems would use it against him.
I admit, I am enjoy fluff, so I like some of these people a bit more now, and some a little bit less.
I will say, Michael J. Fox for Buttigieg makes so much sense, this whole campaign I have been trying to figure out who Mayor Pete reminded me of, and now it's obvious. He's Alex P. Keaton.
Well, thanks for ruining John Cusack for me!!!!

Mulvaney says U.S. is ‘desperate’ for more legal immigrants
“We are desperate — desperate — for more people,” Mulvaney said. “We are running out of people to fuel the economic growth that we’ve had in our nation over the last four years. We need more immigrants.”
“What the hell was that all about?” Trump said. “We’ve got enough problems with South Korea with trade. On top of that, they give them best movie of the year. Was it good? I don’t know.”
Neon, the U.S. distributor for the subtitled film, shot back on Twitter: “Understandable. He can’t read.”

But he doesn’t love GWTW. Ridiculous.
Of course. He can't possibly pass up the opportunity for a racist dog whistle.
The new W.H. personnel chief called in liaisons from cabinet agencies for an introductory meeting and asked them to identify political appointees across the government who are believed to be anti-Trump, three sources familiar with the meeting tell Axios.

Isn't Michael J. Fox Canadian? (yeah, I could look it up, I guess)

Yes. But his foundation is based in the US and I assume he lives here at least part-time.

He is. I remember because he appeared at the Vancouver Winter Olympics in a bit with Catherine O’Hara and William Shatner.
I also remember an interview with him years ago where he talked about meeting the Queen and was debating whether or not he should now because he’s a subject.
Fuck that guy. He benefited from an independent progressive splitting the vote three ways in both elections. Now that we have ranked choice voting, he’ll never get re-elected, especially with the hard left turn that has taken place downstate.
I do truly wonder if she was always voting against party when it was inconsequential and I missed it, or if it’s since LePage/Tea Party/45. I voted for her at least once. I don’t want to do the math to see if it was twice. I felt comfortable with an experienced moderate. Not happening this time.

Collins’s role in the confirmation of Betsy DeVos, the Education secretary who has, among other things, cut funding for the Special Olympics. As a member of the Senate Education Committee, Collins could have voted to give DeVos a negative recommendation, but she didn’t. Yet once DeVos was in front of the whole Senate, and had enough votes to get through, Collins voted against her, an example of Collins not using her vote powerfully when she had the opportunity

U.S. Sen. Susan Collins is asking the federal government to reverse changes that have put more than $1 million in grants for rural Maine schools in jeopardy.
Collins sent a letter Thursday to Education Secretary Betsy DeVos opposing changes to the Department's Rural Education Achievement Program, which provides grants for services such as technology, mental health counselors and physical education teachers in small and rural schools.
Thanks Susan, glad you are concerned. In the meantime, I’ll be a County Girl in rural Maine teaching children with disabilities and mental health concerns, who’s only access to technology is at school or on Mom’s phone.
UMaineTeach I am one who has voted for Collins several times. I even remember arguing with my husband about it: "but she has so much power it helps the Maine economy by keeping government projects here." The consequences of her votes didn't seem so dire until recently. Anyway, sorry world for helping keep Collins around for so long. (I didn't vote for her in 2014, though; my husband won the argument!)
John Cusack has been a toxic asshole for a long time, definitely before he discovered Bernie. There’s a reason his career tanked suddenly. Yet another reason to hate Bernie - secondhandedly giving John Cusack an audience again.

And now Russia is apparently trying to help Bernie too. SURPRISE!
"U.S. officials have told Sen. Bernie Sanders that Russia is attempting to help his presidential campaign as part of an effort to interfere with the Democratic contest, according to people familiar with the matter."
Well of course they want him to win. But it’s also annoying that Bernie mentioned that some of the online harassers could be a part of this. What a fucking cop out. Now they get to blame their shitty behavior on this.

Had coffee with a friend today. Her friend’s friend was a staffer for Amy Klobuchar. Klobuchar asked the staffer to *shave her legs* while they were going somewhere in an SUV.

So, this happened to a friend's friend's friend? Seems legit.

Wait. Klobuchar asked the staffer to shave Klobuchar’s legs? Like she just whipped out a razor? Or she asked the staffer to please shave her own legs?
The Trump White House and its allies, over the past 18 months, assembled detailed lists of disloyal government officials to oust — and trusted pro-Trump people to replace them — according to more than a dozen sources familiar with the effort.
Since Trump's Senate acquittal, aides say the president has crossed a psychological line regarding what he calls the "Deep State." He feels his government — from Justice to State to Defense to Homeland Security — is filled with "snakes." He wants them fired and replaced ASAP.
