I am still annoyed at how the media has been treating Warren. She is currently third in delegate count but some are acting like she is nonexistent. Hoping she gets a good bump from tonight.
I'm at work, bummed I couldn't watch! Another Texan for Warren here, hope to early vote but I have a bunch of down ballot races to research still. My H did just donate again tonight! I hope she gets a lot more media coverage after this.
This is your regular reminder that primaries should be decided using ranked-choice voting.
This is how I was able to select the leaders in the Lib Dem party - you can rank choice the ones you want and even leave blank anyone you don't care about. It was really a good thing.
I just wandered over to the Bro-cesspool that is reddit. Even they are losing their shit over Warren tonight.
I donated again. I am chomping at the bit to go vote but work is a shit show and I haven't been able to sneak away. Maybe H and I can go together this weekend.
Drive by from your local Bro Troll.
Warren killed it last night. "Warren and Bernie" was trending heavily on Twitter, and the general consensus I saw (and agree with) is that Warren was the winner last night, she and Bernie (who was second) really effectively beat Bloomberg to a pulp, and everyone else needs to go home.
Yeah, a lake house. But in my experience it's usually a 600 SQ ft cottage with no central heat and a water line that draws from the lake that your grandparents built in the 1940s. Somehow I think Bernie's summer camp is less rustic.
IIRC, they sold Jane's mom's house and paid in the vicinity of $575K for the "lake house."
However they juggled it, they paid cash for a house worth $575K. I have a Bernie Bro in my FB feed buying a house abroad somehow even though they haven't worked in years. Guessing inheritance has a role here too. But they totally understand the plight of the poor.
I cannot find an entire video of the debate. I had one going, but had to pause and when I came back it had an error and then said it was made private, which it was a bigger news station so The other lets me watch the hour leading up to the debate and then stops.
I was only able to watch the first 45 minutes. This morning, the first news report I heard declared Sanders the winner (NBC I think). On the drive into work I listed to NPR where the focus was on Bloomberg but a caller, who is an EW supporter, said she thinks EW should let the others tear down Sanders Bloomberg and stay about it all. Another caller said he thinks the writing is on the call for Sanders to be the nominee.
I find it interesting that the general debate watching public and CEP disagree so much about debate performances. While I agree with many here who thought EW did really well, we should not be surprised if she doesn't surge or if Bloomberg survives another day.

Anecdotally, I see a lot of people in news article comment sections say that they were waffling, or hadn't decided, but they like Warren before, and now they are all in.
I don't think it will change the minds of people who are solidly supporting other candidates, but some people who drifted away from Warren might come back, and it will definitely help with undecideds.
But the other factor is the huge number of people who have already voted early in NV. They didn't get to see her eviscerate Bloomberg!

Huh, I feel like every news outlet I've seen has declared EW the winner. Even Fox News lol.

I really wanted to like Amy Klobuchar but the article about how badly she treats her staff ruined her for me. I thought Elizabeth Warren did a great job last night and I don’t hate Joe Biden.
I loved watching Bloomie being torn down over everything...NDA's, taxes, billionaire status, racist policies...it was all delicious.
I thought Warren was amazing. And I really thought that Pete did well with the Amy exchange w/r/t Mexico. I get that sometimes people forget names, but she was really dismissive of the moderator's concern about it. And, honestly, it is a little :/ to have someone who is involved in a lot of policy decisions to not be able to name the president of that country. Would someone forget the UK PM? Germany's chancellor? It's just smacks of not really caring. And I'm not saying Amy doesn't care about Mexican politics, but it is not a good look to have that attitude of "this isn't jeopardy, so I can not know things".

jigsy, I agree about Klobuchar. I also think she is going to take a hit from him bringing attention to her voting record re: judicial nominees. And even though I think Pete did well bringing both of those things up, their constant back and forth bickering ended up not being a good look for either of them.

Warren suffers from #2 syndrome - she is a LOT of peoples' 2nd choice. So while she might not gain people who are fully committed to other candidates it could be the push she needs to get to #1 with a substantial number of people who otherwise like her but have narrowly favored other candidates.

Last night, I remembered that one time Obama did a funny video where he said, "F*** you, Chuck Todd" so I went to look for it. (White House Correspondents Dinner 2016) I honestly just wanted a clip or a GIF. Anyway, I watched the whole thing, and I had two thoughts.
1) Joe Biden has aged a lot in 4 years. Wow. I wish he'd stayed Fun Uncle Joe. Alas. 2) My how far we have fallen.

You are way overestimating how indicative two NPR callers are of the general public.
ETA: Campaigns have people who continuously call into radio and TV shows. Chances of those callers telling the truth about their preferences? 50/50.

I just made my first ever campaign contribution. To Warren, who I've been backing from the beginning. She'll be in Seattle this weekend and my ailing mother desperately wants to go, but I don't think she can handle the walking and standing around. I promised to find a live stream she can watch.
We're an all-mail county, and ballots are being mailed out next week. Our primary (we got rid of our caucuses, thank gawd) is March 10, so I hope Super Tuesday doesn't wipe out all of our choices.

I agree that people who call into any show are just as likely to be lying. I was thinking of other debates as well, when people here thought someone performed really well but that candidate did not rise in the polls.
I've read a few articles on the debate since this morning, and most list Sanders and Warren as winners. The consensus seems to be that Warren had the strongest performance but Sanders didn't face a lot of attacks so his front runner status was not challenged. That was a win for him. I would agree with that assessment. I'm anxious to see post debate polls. I hope it gives Warren a strong bump. I think she will give her a small bump because sexism.

I listened to it on the Rachel Maddow Show podcast today.

I looked at the event and it says it’s ADA-compliant. Maybe email them to see what your options are?
