I am thinking of a Spring Break trip, end of March. We generally hit the gulf side in Florida (Anna Maria area). We are thinking of trying something different.
Is Gulf Shores family friendly? Beaches and water, are they nice? Other things to do beside the beaches- nature centers, kayaking, etc?

Very family friendly. Orange Beach and Gulf Shores are both wonderful, family friendly resort towns and the beaches are beautiful. It is definitely a high rise condo, area though. The Gulf State Park is there with lots of hiking trails and other outdoor adventures. Gulf Shores also has a wonderful zoo that I highly recommend. So many restaurants, amusement parks, etc.
Yes, very family friendly, and the beaches are beautiful. Depending on how long you’re down here, if you have a rainy day you could take short day trips to New Orleans (3 hours), Mobile (1 hr), or Pensacola (30-60 minutes). Mobile has the USS Alabama and a decent kids museum. Pensacola has a really first-class Naval Aviation Museum and iMax — it’s on base and currently only accessible to DoD ID card holders but should open back up to visitors soon.

Yes very family friendly. A lot quieter than Destin or Panama City. There are great nature trails and zoo. Beaches are beautiful along most of the gulf in that area. Pensacola naval museum is pretty neat and I think it was free or cheap.
I feel like I should point out that it's not necessarily super warm there at end of March...just in case you are expecting totally hot beach weather. I think it can really vary.

I'm from Minnesota, does that help for a point of weather reference?
It was 40 here yesterday with snow still on the ground and many people were wearing shorts and tee shirts.
