tripleshot I always have the opposite problem at DD and refer to their coffee as "lava" LOL I'm sorry you got cold coffee this morning.
I'm so tired today. And when I went to the bathroom when I got in the office I noticed a grease stain on the front of my sweater. Luckily, I very rarely get up from my desk during the day, but I do at least a few times and I'm trying to decide if I give enough fucks to go in the kitchen now to work on this stain or just leave it until I get home tonight.
We got two trees taken down yesterday, which was a whole saga in and of itself and now I realize just how uneven our front yard is. So now, we need to look in to having a crap ton of dirt brought on so that we can level it out before seeding and planting anything new. I'm sure that won't cost a crap ton of money (insert sarcasm here).
@sameoldstory, I had a small corner of my yard leveled last fall. I think they brought in about 15 yards of soil, but I might be remembering incorrectly. What I do remember is watching them do the work of leveling … you don't want to do that yourself. Anyway, I paid about $1,000 for the soil, leveling, and seeding. Oh, and I wished they'd tamped it down better - walking on the new section was pretty squishy for a while.
I've already called some stranger a dumbass on Facebook, so I think I'm off to a salty start to the day.

Oh yeah, we definitely would be paying for the leveling work! We did some last year, or maybe the year before and it was only a few yards and it was a lot of work.

We had a large part of our yard cleared, leveled and seeded a couple years ago. A family friend did it for us (not for free, lol) but I know my neighbor got a comparable quote from a local company. I can PM you if you'd like.
I impulse-bought curtains for our LR at Costco on Thursday, and DH humored me and grabbed rods at Home Depot and put them up on Saturday even though it wasn't really urgent (we haven't had anything up since we had the room painted a couple months ago). He hung them like two inches lower than I would have liked, but there's absolutely no way I can actually say that and definitely not worth the effort to move them so I'll be living with that for the next 20 years.
The weekend went by so fast Saturday was super productive, and yesterday was busy, but I don't really feel like I got any down time, or solid time with either kid. DH is OOT most of this week, so I'm going to make myself let some stuff slide at home and let the evenings be less hectic.

That would be awesome, thanks! I've only ever hired one landscaping company and that was last year and it was a nightmare, a local recommendation would be very appreciated.
This weekend was stupid, lol. I tried to get caught up on stuff for grad school, but still feel like I'm behind. I barely left the house so I definitely feel like I should have been more productive. We did clean the house, watched a couple of movies, and I talked on the phone with my sister, so it wasn't a total loss. But I also feel like I may as well have done something social or fun since I didn't really accomplish as much as I wanted to.
I have a lot of dry skin right now - patches of my face and my fingers, in particular. I'm ready for winter to be over, even though I feel bad complaining about this winter because it's been so mild.
I think we need to have our garage floor torn out and re-poured. Not excited about the cost of that, but I think it's necessary to prevent car run off from seeping in against the basement foundation wall. Maybe DH can get the nice sealed garage floor he's always dreamed of out of it.
Possible unpopular opinion: I really hate my ThirdLove bras. The straps always slide off and I am constantly pulling them back up. The bra otherwise fits well and it doesn't matter how tight or loose the straps are. Once I get into clothes shopping for my new job, I am definitely getting new bras. I'm very excited about getting rid of these.
It's really hard to find motivation to do stuff at work when a lot of it is stuff that is only necessary because the person who comes after me won't have a damn clue what to do otherwise. I really should have gotten my shit together on this stuff a couple of years ago. lol
We had the meeting with the chief of police and our crazy neighbor on Friday. It went okay I guess. This guy is clearly full of anger but we remained calm and cool and his true colors really showed. He agreed to stop screaming at us and flicking us off, and we agreed to stop filming him if he really does stop. At the end of the meeting the chief suggested we all shake hands and crazy neighbor refused.
A guy I’ve been seeing invited me to go to Moscow with him in March. For free. I unfortunately had to turn it down because my stupid ex threw my passport away and I haven’t replaced it.

We test drove two electric cars last night (both Hyundai). They were nice, but the gas version is 20K and the EV version is 40K. They felt like 20K cars still, which sort of sucks. ALSO I would give anything for dealerships to offer child care. We have 3 more cars to check out and the one trip to a dealership took nearly 3 hours. I don't know how we are going to manage to find time to look at the other cars.

calamity I am so invested in your crazy neighbor saga. I'm so sorry you're having to deal with that. I'm glad the police chief got to see the crazy first-hand. I hope things improve!
I worked events Friday night and all day Saturday, so my weekend felt like it was 30 minutes long. At least tomorrow is Free Pancake Day at IHOP!

1: can you pump it up? my dad had to do that to his driveway and the city did it to our driveway after re-doing the road.
2: I hated my third love bras too. they flattened my boobs and the straps never stayed up. they also don't carry my size in the full coverage bra so they lie about having a size for everyone. I've been really happy with my Simone Perele bra but it's 100$

Hmmm. I hadn't considered it, but that's definitely an idea. The issue is specifically with the slab toward the front of the garage, so if we could mudjack it, that would basically resolve the problem. I'll look into getting quotes for that too. Thanks for the idea!
Seriously, they're the worst. I'll happily replace them with more expensive bras. I only own two bras anyway.
DH left this morning for a work trip in Wyoming. He said it’s crazy windy and snowy out at the airport. I have a ton of errands to do today and I hate being out in the wind. The husband of a staff member of our school passed away last week after a short fight against brain cancer. I’m so sad for their family. They have two boys. I’m teary this morning just thinking of them because today is his funeral.
DH is working from home today apparently. Completely messing with my schedule, just by being here lol. I work from home but 12:30-9pm. The mornings are my alone time. And in theory time to clean and run errands. But more importantly, alone time. Go to work DH.
He called me at 10 on Saturday night saying he thought DS had strep. Told me to come take him to the hospital. He lives 3 hours from me and he’s only 15 minutes from the hospital.
I told him that since it was his weekend he needed to bring him. He told me he’s reporting me to CPS for medical neglect.
So, when H left yesterday, I wanted to do something for him at home. I completely cleaned out his garage bay, which had boxes of my mom's stuff and just crap of ours, put stuff at the curb for free and have some stuff boxed up for charity. Tonight I will start really sorting the stuff I had to move back in and figure out what is trash, what I need to run to my mom's storage unit to deal with much later and what I need to find a new place for in our house. But, I want that done to a big degree before he gets back home. We have not both been able to park in our garage in over a year. SO, I feel good getting that part done.

We've been talking about replacing our car for the last few months, and this weekend it started acting up so we're taking that as our sign. I have to work, but DH is planning on going test-driving with his dad tomorrow. Here's hoping we have a new car by the end of the week.
I'm having a hard time getting motivated this morning. I'm having trouble prioritizing work this semester because I have 4 semester long projects, 2 group and 2 individual. And I find it really hard to work on things without concrete due dates for milestones. I could create them myself, but...again, finding it hard to get the motivation so I end up frozen.

Last week was a shitshow. The head of our dept at work abruptly "resigned" and left everyone in a frenzy. This leadership change led to the decision to hire consultants to look at the division of work and make sure we are "staffed appropriately." Our interim dept. head told us it is to look for places to hire more people and not to worry...but it's the reason I was laid off from my last job so I'm a bit nervous.
On top of that: one of the pipes in our kitchen burst and we didn't notice until the next day when we found our basement floor flooded. We had to bring in a clean up crew and in order to get all of the water out they tore up half of our kitchen floor and ripped out half of our cabinets/countertops. The water was in the living room too so that carpet needs to come out. We already spoke with our insurance company but UGH, what a disaster. They will cover it all, but we now have no kitchen. On the bright side: We are getting a completely new kitchen and living room now, so I guess that's good. I just hate the disruption in my already hectic routine.

I just got new bras and I'm really liking the Wacoal ones I got. I was replacing some LeMystere bras that squeaked when I moved and the straps slipped. So far, I have not had to adjust any straps. I got the Awareness underwire bra. It's good for winter because I'm wearing sweaters and scarves, but I'll want something with a little more lining for spring.

leviosa, I'm sorry for saying this if there's some backstory, but WTF is wrong with your XH? JFC. Dude, take YOUR SON to the damn doctor. Medical neglect? GTFO with that bullshit.
So excited for the next season to drop next month. We have our spring break trip the week before and I plan to watch the last couple episodes then to be ready.
