My 14 month old woke up yesterday with her nose pouring like a faucet. It’s all clear though, no fever, or signs of difficulty breathing. A little coughing but not much. She is chewing everything so I’m certain she’s teething. Just wanted to ask though because I don’t remember my older 2 ever having this much snot while teething. Literally all day yesterday it was wipe nose, throw out tissue, wash hands, and repeat.
Edited to add her eyes have also been watering. I have done saline wipes, Vick’s on her chest, and put a humidifier in her room. Other suggestions welcome.
I'm going through this with E2. Snot snot snot all day. For over a week now. He's had a productive cough off and on but that is improving. AND he's teething. In his case, I'm sure it's a cold that he's taking forever to get over and teething ar the same time.
DS has had a cold for about a month straight. I'm pretty sure it's actually 3 different colds that have run together, but all of them have sounded exactly like this. No fever, very little coughing, nonstop runny nose. He's also chewing on his hands nonstop, so I think teething is thrown in there as well.
DD had a dry cough and a snotty (clear) nose every time she was teething. Now she's had a runny nose for around a month without fever or anything else so I'm just blaming winter/daycare. I did catch her licking the window at daycare with another kid yesterday so...
On top of what you're already doing, we found that raising her bed always helped, especially to stop the snot going too much down her throat. And flushing her nose with saline (or doing saline aerosols).
