Or spouses/partners who work at a hospital or medical facility?
Just wondering if there’s anyone here I should send good vibes to. DH’s sister works at a nursing home and she’s been posted at the door to turn away visitors. (She’s usually an admin assistant.) so of course we’re hoping for the best for her and the residents she’s trying to help.
One of the families we are really close to includes a dad who is a cardio-thoracic surgeon who does ER call in a hospital and a mom who runs and owns a rehab facility for the elderly. I talked with them last night. They are already sleeping in separate rooms, he’s using his own bathroom, etc, because he’s resigned to the fact that he’s going to get it. They’ve also made contingency plans for help to move in if one or both adults get it. They are rabid about social isolation right now. In fact, she called me to vent about another parent posting pics of her kids not at home when the entire family just got off a cruise ship.
DH is a cardiologist. His office is doing teledoc for two weeks but he still has to see consults at the hospital where they have at least one positive case.
More worried about my mom who is 71 and works at a nursing home. I have no confidence in the nursing home’s plan and my mom is elderly and on immunosuppressants. But she won’t retire 🙄
I lurk here and I am an RN in a hospital. Thankfully I am in pediatrics and this doesn't seem to be hitting the kids as hard, but I do worry that our chronic patients will be hospitalized with it.
