Can we celebrate a little bit? I need something positive in my life right now. I don't care how stupid it is, share away. Let's get some tiny rays of sunshine going.
1. The weather today is supposed to be sunny and beautiful and warm enough that I can put on a sweatshirt and open my windows for some sunshine and fresh air. 2. My college friends and I use the app Marco Polo to send videos back and forth since we all live far apart. We have ramped up our video sending like crazy in the last week. It's helped a lot with feeling isolated and alone. 3. I watched and danced along to Ben Platt's instagram dance party last night and oh man, did I need that ridiculous stress relief. I think you can still access it via his profile if you want to watch it. (He's a Broadway star, for those who have no clue who Ben Platt is.)
I’m winning the pajama game... My skin is so clear now that I stopped wearing make up. Sounds like I need better make up when everything opens up again.
Today is DS2's birthday. He is so excited to have pancakes and sausage for dinner tonight (and so am I). The weather will be nice until dinner time. After lunch, we'll give DS2 his birthday gift (a Step2 roller coaster). We'll set it up in the back yard and let the kids go wild. I still have to work, but I'm getting a lot done from home.
On Saturday, we'll have a very small party for DS2 with my parents, FIL, and my 2 brothers. We'll be a little over the 10 person limit (there will be 15, including us) recommended by the CDC, but I don't care. We need to do this for our sanity. DS2 will be so excited since all he asked for his birthday was cake.
The weather is beautiful here today! I’m planning to take the kids to the beach for a “field trip” later this afternoon. Before anyone gets upset, “nice” means it will be 45°F at the beach. We will be in winter coats, and it will not be crowded. We will look for rocks and shells and do a project to figure out who lived in there.
My new bathroom is basically done (minus paint). The kitchen is moving along. He’s cutting and hanging drywall today. Progress!!
I’m going to attempt to make a nice dinner in my makeshift kitchen tonight. Grill steaks, baked potatoes in the toaster oven, salad.

1. The kids don't have to wake up at 6:30 in the morning. They've been able to sleep until 7:15-7:30, and wake up when their bodies are ready. 2. I've been able to make DS more robust breakfasts (e.g., pancake and a smoothie), so that has been good. 3. I've exercised every day since 3/14. Not a huge win yet, but now I have time to exercise every day, without being able to say I'm too busy as an excuse. 4. The kids have time to explore other interests. I downloaded a French language learning app for DD, and DS has explored some websites like Nat Geo Kids and a history website for kids. 5. I don't miss the rush to get out the door in the morning or the rush to leave work to get home and make a quick dinner before whatever activity we have that night. I've been able to sleep in a bit and have time in the evenings to play board games with the kids and work on small projects around the house.

DS1 doesn't usually get a lot of math homework other than "count from 12 to 99" doing regular school. Now that he is home on extended break, I am getting to see him do much more math and I am thus learning the Common Core method. I think this weill help next year when DS1 will get lot more to do at home and many parents I have spoken with are overwhelmed with helping their kiddo since it is a different way of doing math than most of us learned.
I wish I could say the weather is better, but it really isn't for us (yet). It is more sunny, but still mid 30's to mid 40's. We're supposed to get snow again this weekend. They are projecting warmer weather next week (50's) and I cannot wait.
We're in San Diego and are in the middle of many straight days of rain - which is not helping my mood.
I do like that I don't have to wake the kids up early, and also that I don't have to fly weekly and drag myself to in-person client meetings during my third trimester, like I did during my past pregnancies.
