Since we can’t really talk much about plans for the weekend, how about just sharing something good? Or nice? Or silly?
Mine is that I’m managing my anxiety a bit better. I’m doing meditation and saying decades (for non-Catholics, that’s 10 Hail Mary’s) when I feel overwhelmed and it’s been really good.
Another is that we are making each other laugh. DH tied plastic bags over his shoes this morning to keep them dry while taking out the trash and we all giggled.
2nd graders on Zoom is putting a smile on my face. DD2's class were all showing off their wiggly teeth this morning. We need more Zoom meetings like that in our lives.

I usually meet every-other Friday morning for an hour or so with a few moms from our kids' elementary school for a prayer meeting. This week we did a Zoom meeting. One of the ladies and her husband have their own business, so they pay for a subscription (apparently you only get 40 minutes at a time on the free version). I was happy to seem them and have our prayer time, even if we couldn't be together in person!
We are going to take our trailer out of storage tomorrow, which will be a three-hour round trip because we store it at the barn on the farm where my grandma grew up (my mom and uncle jointly own the farm now). We do have to drop it off to be repaired, but there won't be any in-person contact because the place is closed on the weekends, so we'll just do a key-drop. We'll probably get take-out from our favorite restaurant in that area, eat at the cottage, and then head home. It will be nice to at least see a change of scenery.
After my screaming fit for everyone waking me up, DD took the rest of the night to write nice notes like you're beautiful, you're an inspiration, you're my best friend.... and she left them on my coffee pot, treadmill, purse, door, steering wheel, ect… for me to find when I woke up.
I have three girlfriends from growing up that I’ve known since we were all 6 years old. We’ve drifted apart somewhat as adults but we’ve reconnected a bit through all of this and now have an active group text going everyday, and we’re planning a zoom chat.
DD has zoom chat scheduled today at 1 with her gym sisters/friends. I can't wait to listen to them. One of her friends mom works for the university so she is setting it up over the university account
Tax deadline is now July 15! No we are not working 7 days a week until July. We are taking Sunday off!!! And closing our doors to the public. We will take stuff out to the car like the all the restaurants are doing. Fingers cross Oregon connects with the new deadline.
DS1's elementary school principal has been doing bedtime stories every other evening this past week on Facebook Live. The principal takes some time to talk to the students about what is happening, reads some comments from the feed to say hi directly to some students online, reads a few stories, and sings some silly songs. The kids think it is hilarious to see their principal sing Baby Shark on the internet. The principal has also offered to team up with the middle school principal to do some online discussions about teaching at home and how to talk to the kids about the corona virus. I love how our little community is offering support online. Even residents with students in high school or in college have tuned in to the story time just to say hi.

186momx, you made my day telling me that tax deadline is now July 15th!
DS started riding his bike yesterday without training wheels! It's been a struggle to get him to learn. He still needs help starting and stopping, but I'm so happy he can balance on his own!
Work has been great about giving me time off to spend with beau and for the funeral. I have 15 weeks of sick leave saved up so PTO isn't a problem. But in my old job, they would have given me crap about taking sick leave since it's not my immediate family member and made me use vacation time (and limited how much I could take). My supervisor said take as much bereavement sick leave as I need and my trainer has been covering for me.
I ordered noice cancelling headphones today. I have high hopes for these, particularly when DD likes to sing to her dolls. She inherited my tone deafness.

I almost have my stairs repainted. I have one more coat on 4 risers and one side of the baseboards. My office got repaired last week and my new desk just arrived.
If I can get grout put on the tile that I had to replace last week, I could have a finished bathroom, foyer and office by the end of next week!!
We've gotten 4 boxes of decorative stuff unpacked this week too.
Lots of progress on the kitchen. The appliances came today, which is great since they closed the store and laid off all of the sales people. More Sheetrock up, cabinets laid out, heaters installed. I’m going to see if DH can hook up my washer and dryer this weekend since the bathroom is mostly done.
The governor did not lock us down, so work will continue until it does. Hoping they can somehow get my stove hooked up sooner than later...

1) I was so happy about the tax deadline too. I haven't had time to even look at it
2) I had my kids signed up for bike riding classes which are of course canceled. I wish I had time right now to work with them.
DD had a blast talking with her gym sisters/friends. Zoom on your phone without wifi doesn't work very well. She used 90% of my data for the month luckily I have lots of leftover rollover because we never use all our data. I need to dig out my old camera and microphone from my laptop days so she can chat again on Monday via one of the office desktop computers.

Our nanny voluntarily said she'd like to take some unpaid vacation time right now as she wants to just stay in her house. I'm so happy about that! Cost savings!
So I don’t mean to brag, but I used my Instant Pot yesterday for the first time, and I totally didn’t even blow up the house! And now I’m really excited to cook more with it. I really miss my kitchen and I’m really sick of takeout. Win!!
We went to the beach yesterday (something that’s still allowed during shelter in place) and had a blast. I should have had the kids wear swimsuits even though it was only 65 degrees. They ended up going in the ocean in their clothes and getting soaked, but thought it was awesome. It was easy to stay far away from other people but still feel normal.
I also took a 2-hour nap.
I never thought I would appreciate it so much to hang with the kids and not try to do my full time job at the same time.
sdlaura - we’ve taken 2 trips to the beach over the past few days. We are in winter coats but you’re right - so easy to stay away from people. The kids collected shells and rocks for different projects. My parents live less than 1/2 mile from the beach, so we can park there and walk (that beach has no parking). We wave to them from the driveway and they’re happy to see us without the noise 😊.
The weather looks bad here next week, but I’m still hoping we can go once or twice.
After my parents took care of my 3 kids for 3 hours this morning, my Dad took my car back to his condo and then washed and detailed it.
It wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing if they get stuck on the West coast long-term (though I’m sure they’d like to go home to Maryland eventually, and my sister and her 3 little kids are definitely missing them right now).
