Anyone else dealing with this with their practice? I feel like this might be the norm for a lot of places here soon. We received a communication from the lead OB at my office requesting that all patients get:
Fetal Doppler BP cuff Urine sticks Bathroom scale
Then when our appt comes, we are put into a virtual waiting room until someone calls us, as which point we report our numbers. It will stay this way until I am (19 wks currently) 36 wks. How important are the fundal height measurements? Because they obviously can’t do that. I mean....I GET it. I understand why they are doing it and I know from my first pregnancy that they don’t do much at the appts anyway, but it feels weird to not potentially see anyone again until 4 wks before my due date.
I just got the email with that exact same information. I'm due for my 20 week ultrasound in two days but they have said not to come in. I'm so upset. I've also been hearing rumors of states not letting spouses in the hospital at all or only one support person so I have to either get rid of my doula or my husband. I'm really trying to understand but this is really stressful.

Double check with your hospital about the doula. My hospital considered them part of the medical team, so my doula didn’t count as an additional support person (they had limits in place due to flu restrictions).

Yes, I was going to say this. It was just posted on my practice’s page that doulas do not count as the one support person.
marie3246, I am so sorry your a/s was cancelled. My OB said that’s considered a fetal test and they will still be doing them.
My next midwife appointment, this week, has been rescheduled to a phone consult. I am still going in for my glucose test this week, as well as a cervical length u/s.
I was just reading about some hospital systems banning partners during L&D. I can't even imagine H not being there; that would be so upsetting.

Ours specifically says no Doulas at the hospital. My doctor said she is attempting to fight it but as of right now that is the rule.
I’m not sure what my OB office is going to do. I have my next appointment with my OB tomorrow and am going to talk to him. I want to go to my appointment tomorrow as I need to get my Tdap vaccine. I’d be okay doing telehealth visits for some of the visits as I have a Doppler, scale, and BP cuff at home and am comfortable measuring my fundal height. I’m going to have to ask what he thinks about the growth ultrasound that’s scheduled for 32 weeks (mid April). I’m thinking I’d rather skip that if my OB is okay with it because the ultrasound is done in a unit in the adult hospital and I’d rather avoid contact with the hospital now if possible.

My 24w appt on Monday got turned into a telemedicine meeting via Zoom. My 28w appt is supposed to include my GD test, so I imagine I would need to go in for that.
I will be asking the doctor on Monday about how many of my remaining appointments will be via telemedicine, probably at least a few more.

My midwives are largely going to telemedicine for earlier appointments but didn't mention anything about things I would need at home. Does anyone have a specific doppler that they like?
