Someone I know on FB (can't even say "friend" after this) just posted saying he's headed to his cabin and would welcome company if anyone else has a few days off.
NOOOOOOO!!! This is just all WTF on so many levels!!!
I have a similar person who is posting stuff like "fired up the grill, just bring beer" and "suns out, come on over". The kicker, he works in health care?!?!?!?!?!??!?!??!
sorry neonpink , my post sounds aggressive and I am not directing that towards you. It is towards the idiots in society who are not taking this seriously. and did I mention we have a shelter in place order? yeah, people are not following it.
I didn't take it as aggressive towards me. I just wish that I had truly understood how this virus can take people down and out permanently. I am lucky that I have had such a mild/moderate case in my house. I haven't left my house except to drop my h off at the hospital and pick up prescriptions in weeks. I lysol wipe my card before I handed it to anyone.
I've seen on social media how many people are ignoring all the distancing and running, hiking and living life. I feel my state will have some horrible repercussions in a few weeks because of it.
Is there anything wrong with being active if you are doing it solo? I have been running - once a week because of time constraints, but I walk the dogs and baby at least 1-2 times a day. We have large neighborhoods and a big park behind our house with trails that almost no one ever uses. If we do see someone on our walk, everyone has been courteous to stay on opposite sides of the road. It really doesn’t happen often, only on really warm days.
I haven’t left home in weeks either - really I haven’t left home much since the baby was born almost 3 months ago. Daily walks and fresh air really help with my sanity and I thought there’s no risk for it?
doglove, I think running outside is fine when your solo or with your household. These are people at playgrounds and gathering in large friend groups on big trails in our city. We have a large hiking area and they posted an image of everyone holding a handrail as they are coming down this trail. It makes me nervous that people are going to get really sick since they aren't taking precautions.
doglove you are doing fine! My city had to remove the hoops from the basketball courts and block off the scenic overviews on trails on Monday, though, because apparently those spots were absolutely packed throughout the weekend, which is NOT the right way to be enjoying the outdoors right now.
Okay whew. A says this is going on in downtown Raleigh. I don’t understand it. They closed our biggest park here because people couldn’t be respectful of the the distancing requirements. I also had friends meeting up purposely to hang out and “social distance” which I don’t understand.
