I was listening to a NYC physician who does a lot of intubations the other day. He said something that has stuck with me. “My patients are scared. I tell them not to be scared because we’re putting this on them so we can get it off of them.” His first patient to be intubated for COVID19 was in his 30s and is now recovering at home. I hope the same will be the case for your friend!

I am sending healing thoughts for your friend.
My sister's kid had it in Washington about 10 days ago and luckily just had to weather it at home, but it hurt her lungs. She is 24. Another friend of a friend in CO has it and she too is hanging at home - 40 yrs old. My neighbor thinks he had it - got cold and then within 24 hours instant pneumonia after a visit to Moab about 3 weeks ago and his chest still hurts - he is 55ish. But he is improving now and his doctor diagnosed pneumonia before we had test kits in our state. His doctor called the other day to check-in b/c he is now seeing similar cases that are Covid-19, so doctor post-diagnosed. So I haven't known anyone who had to be hospitalized. How scary for her to struggle so quickly! It's so unpredictable.
I’m so sorry and hope she recovers okay. I hate the people saying NBD. Someone in Raleigh in his 30s died from it. Three children! And the only “medical” concern previously was high blood pressure. This virus is damn scary and not just for “old” people.
