I want to like joggers, but I'm pear shaped and I feel like they accent that.
I'm an apple, they look horrible on me, but there's no one around to see, so....
Liking not because you think you look horrible but because no one is seeing. Joggers are terrible for my shape too but guess what I’m wearing 24/7 because I’m not leaving the house!
Found out a woman where I work is on a vent. She is in her 50’s. This is just terrible. It’s like every day you worry how many people you know will catch this.
Not exactly COVID-related, but with all the working at home, I bought two pairs of lounge pants from Target yesterday. They're "Stars Above" (one of Target's new brands), and they are the COMFIEST, SOFTEST PANTS EVER. Lightweight, too, which is nice as the weather gets warmer.
3 of my close colleagues (part of a group starting a mental health clinic) are docs at a local VA that is working on surge planning for Covid. We haven't heard much from them since the start of this, which has felt unsettling, but understandable. I chatted with one last week and could tell things were rough, and just got a text from another who described it as a "sobering experience as we've been told we may be repurposed to other areas of the hospital depending on the need." She noted she doesn't have much brain space lately and is wiped out at the end of the day.
Also, I just found out a friend got a test yesterday and is waiting for results. They are relatively young but have a lot of chronic health issues, so I'm worried about them. They were in the ER as recently as a couple of weeks ago for chronic pain issues.
A small pub chain near me is doing this. You can place an order, the day before pick up, for things like 1 roll of toilet paper, bananas, applesauce, milk, eggs, lettuce, tomatoes, even uncooked burgers and chicken that they package with cheese and a bun. And I think steak? Anyway, I plan to grab some tomatoes and lettuce on Friday when I get pizza and beer from them.
For those of you still going to grocery store or medical appointments, do you see people wearing masks out in public? I’m going for bloodwork in the morning, and trying to decide if I should. I want to, but I don’t want to be judged LOL

I saw many people in masks when I went grocery shopping last week. A lot of people wearing gloves too.

Yes, I saw some people in masks and gloves. One woman in gloves kept touching her face, with the gloves. I’m not sure she understood the point...
I forget it you have a medical background. If not, and you do wear them, make sure you know how to properly don/doff and what to do/not to do when you wear them.

Nope. No medical training. Just a lots of learning by experience and watching (I’m damn good at stopping an IV pump beep LOL). Lots of patient time. Don’t touch the outside, don’t play with it. On the plus note, I do have my appointment in the old people/immunecompromised hours.
Eta: my music friend circle has a lot of MDs, they call me their oncology fellow LOL

I saw SO MANY PEOPLE take things off shelves and then put them back and get something different. AAAHHHHHHH

This is not the time for judging! Eff anyone who judges. There was an article in WaPo about effective DIY masks that I may try to make (involves using old t-shirts) since we don’t have masks and don’t feel justified in otherwise purchasing them since we don’t have to leave for work.

Yeah, and then there have been rumors the CDC may change their recommendations. Saw this hinted about on twitter, but now a real source

I'd say about 25% of the people at the store the other day were wearing masks. I didn't really notice the glove situation. I would not judge anyone wearing either.
I've been going back and forth on whether to wear a mask tomorrow to dh's appointment. I'm not high risk but he is very high risk, so I'm thinking I should wear one just to try to reduce the risk of getting it and giving it to him. He will be wearing a mask. I have gloves in my bag too, not totally sure I'll wear them.
It is really confusing that they keep going back and forth on whether everyone should wear masks or not.

I’ve been wearing a mask to any place I have to go out to (I.e. really only the grocery store). I do not care if people give me weird looks.
rubytue , if you would ever consider selling your masks, please let me know. They look great!
Awww thanks! Not selling for two reasons. I only have enough elastic to make 2 more, which H will need if he keeps his job. Also, for real job reasons, it’s a pain in the ass for me to do anything else for income. Requires approvals from our general counsels office. Nope. I just sew for fun!
