Dear weather, It's April 1st, why are you snowing? Signed, Thankful it's not sticking
Dear DS, I'm happy that you're working on worksheets without a fight today. But when I try to help you with math because you had the wrong answer, please don't argue with me. Signed, Not a teacher
Dear XH, For the love of god, SHUT UP. I am well aware that it is hard to work from home and manage two kids. Not sure if you're aware of this, but I ALSO have a job. A much more important, demanding job actually. In healthcare. So... Yes. I am busy. And I don't have an unemployed fiancee hanging around my house who could step up and help like you do. So you know what I'm doing? Adjusting my life to get up earlier, work longer days when I don't have them, and figure it out. I am NOT texting you whenever I have the kids to complain about everything and blame you for my struggles. I am not making it your problem to organize their time and schedules. And I am actually setting boundaries and expectations with our children instead of letting them run feral with YouTube and video games. Also, when I tell you the approximate time that the lunch bus shows up, leaving your apartment to walk to the end of the street at that exact time means you will miss the bus. Again, NOT my fault. Don't tell me I "didn't communicate" well when I didn't explicitly tell you to walk to the bus stop in advance of the approximate drop off time. You are a grown man. Figure out how to manage time. Again, telling me how busy you are working all day does not garner any sympathy. Your computer and your phone both have clocks. Signed, Good thing we're already divorced
I am.. not sure what kind of tyrant you are, but I started using you as a reason why we have to do something. "We have to trace our letters because Miss R says to." "We have to do quiet resting now because Miss R said to." "If you don't do XYZ, Miss R is going to be mad."
I am not sure the last time DS took a nap at home, but the last two days have been great. I wish I could get DD to nap too.
k3am - I am totally using my kids’ teachers to get them to do their work. “Oooh, you said you’re not doing your math? Ok. I will let Ms. B know... what’s that you say?? More math?? Okey dokey!!”
Dear DH - thank you for giving me 90 uninterrupted minutes to work yesterday. It was a blessing. I accomplished a lot. It would be great if I could do that every day, but I know it’s hard. I will take what I can get.
Also, I’m glad you finally logged into the LMS yesterday, and now you understand why I’m spending hours organizing the kids and chasing them down. DD2 is too young to figure it out, and DD1’s brain just doesn’t work that way, so I have to do her stuff in parallel. It’s a lot, and it takes a ton of time. Thank you for finally getting that.
Love, Wifey
Dear WPs,
If you haven’t already, I totally recommend making your kids do GoNoodle videos when the weather is crummy. We’ve been doing them this week, and the kids get some activity and have fun. Searching for ways to keep our sanity...

Dear DH, I am aware of the real possibility of you having to stay at work during this global shitstorm. Staying there is the safest thing for our family, but next time you want to bring it up, don't do it AS SOON AS YOU WALK IN THE DOOR. We are on day 4 of your 5 day rotation, bringing it up after lunch sometime would have been better than while you were still taking your shoes off. Love, your wife who doesn't want this to actually happen
Dear Career: It is certainly April Fools I have had interviews for 4 companies via conference or video call in last 7 days. It will be April fools if I am not provided an offer. Im really grateful though. Signed, Joke on me
Dear Family: Love you all but all this chatter is driving me crazy..sooo glad i started reading hour..i need a moment if piece and to be in my own thoughts! Signed Mindfulness momma
Please stop sending out random emails during this shitshow. If it is not COVID related that needs my immediate attention, DONT SEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Signed, too many emails
Dear staff,
If we have a phone triage, but you have to ask me about every @$%@!!! call you get, that doesn't help me does it?
Dear WP, What is my life?! The girls want to play Animal Crossing with their friends. They have this game at their dad's house. ExH's fiancee does not want the girls to play Animal Crossing with their friends, because it's technically her account and she doesn't want them to mess up her island. I don't even know what that means, but I feel like an "adult" should not be telling the children they can't use her video game... This is why you don't marry teenagers, folks. Signed I say WTF way too often

Can't they get their own account? I've never played so not sure.
People are weird about video games. No matter what their age but in general marrying a teenager is a bad idea. Even when you are a teen yourself.
Thank you for the tip on kids facebook messenger. DD1 is smiling ear to ear tonight from seeing her friends and sending them messages. She just told me she was sad last night because she misses seeing her friends so this is perfect.

It's the little things
Messenger Kids has been amazing for us too. We recently got accounts for both kids. It's nice that they have the option to video chat or message.
xctsclrx, I don't know. I have to figure it out. ExH said something about how I can buy another version of the game for them to use? They really wanted to play with beau's son since they can't do playdates right now.
twinmomma, I won't buy video games especially online games because it seems like it is way to easy to start spending $$$ and not realize it. Do the girls play video games at your house? If this is only a problem at Xh's house then it is his problem not yours. Is there a free game the girls could play with beau's son and their friends. Maybe the kids messenger app which I'm still leery on using?
Dear Chiro You are the best person in the world. Thank you for not only making my headache not turn into a migraine and taking all the symptoms away but for fixing it so I could sleep like a baby last night because no pain. Thank you Me Ps thanks for helping DD stretch out her back
186momx, No, I have no video games beyond simple tablet games at my house. They have a Switch at XH's house that this game is on. As I look more into it, it seems like I'd have to also buy some kind of subscription or something. Probably going to give up on that plan.
They do have Kids Messenger now. I got them set up with that this week to talk to friends from school. It's been a lifesaver.

We're doing kid messenger too. The first couple of days I had the app on my phone as well as a tablet at home and my phone was ringing nonstop at work, it was pretty funny.
mustardseed2007, Same! My phone has been blowing up with all the emojis they send back and forth. I swear, they haven't sent a real message yet. Just emojis and stickers. But whatever makes them happy, right?
