I have a cruise booked for Christmas, but I'm fairly sure it will be canceled. Even if they don't cancel I'm not sure I'm willing to do a cruise at this point.
I was supposed to go see my sister and new nephew next weekend, hopefully I can reschedule that trip in a couple months.
I still have a nearby trip to a spa I haven't canceled yet for late April. I'm calling today. I was just too sad to cancel it. I don't know if I just move it to late July/August and hope for the best or just cancel it outright.
I had been planning on Belize this November but that likely won't happen either. Haven't booked it yet.
Right now we've got my sister's wedding still on the calendar for late June, we would drive down and hotel is fully refundable until 24 hours before so we're leaving it as is and hoping for the best. We also have a week at an AirBnB in a city about 2-3 hours from us in mid-August, again fully refundable until some point in July and we'd be driving so we haven't canceled that yet either.
I wonder how annoying employers will be too? They can't deny you time off later because of this, but will they guilt you in to trying to stay in the office "since you've basically been on vacation at home for x months"?
I think this one depends entirely on what your PTO policy is, and whether or not you are actually working right now. I am not on vacation - I am working every day, as is most of the rest of my department. There are some roles who are out on admin leave right now and are getting paid to sit at home and not work - those people may be frowned upon if they take vacation later, though I would argue that sitting at home doing nothing isn't quite the same as vacation and that those people still have a right to travel, see family, etc since their current time off is through no fault of their own.
But if i was one of those people I probably would feel funny taking much time off later in the year after being paid not to work quite a bit already. IDK.
We hadn't finalized any plans yet but before all this DH really wanted to do a caribbean trip or a cruise at some point, which I was never really into to begin with.
I really feel like we'll want to do SOMETHING to get away, so my expectations now are going to be to hope for a driving distance beach trip in July or August.
I've been wanting to start planning a Disney trip for August of 2021 so that also has me thinking whether I should really get a head start on that to try and get better prices in the next week or two?
We still have a trip to California in late July and a trip to Europe in late August scheduled. We aren’t hugely optimistic but we don’t see a point in cancelling quite yet. We booked everything around Christmas. We still haven’t cancelled our trip to Mexico in May either, but we know we are going to.

We were planning to go to the UK in September for our anniversary, but I haven't booked anything yet and probably won't at this point. I have some travel for work in July that hasn't been moved yet, but we'll see.

We were supposed to be going to see family in Europe in June-ish. That's pretty clearly off the table now. I just looked at flights, and they're not any cheaper now than they were before anyway, so there's no point in booking or even thinking about dates until there's more clarity about when travel will be not only possible but sensible.
Plus even though airlines may be offering low prices and flexible change policies, if those airlines go out of business then you're SOL (yes, I realize that if we all buy tickets now then the airlines will be ok, but since that's unlikely presumably some of them won't make it through this).

We’ve got Vegas in June, southern IL in July, and Chicago in July.
We haven’t canceled, and they were booked far in advance of the collapse of society. We’ll see. Everything appears to be refundable at this time, but it’s likely that if the trips are able to happen, they will be canceled by my son’s currently postponed surgery.

I assume Disney is still closed, but I wonder when they'll re-open. I guess like a cruise that's one of the last places I'd want to be for a while because you can't keep up with the cleaning, and the hoards of people.
Wildrice thanks for the perspective. I'm working FT from home so I hope my employer won't have a hard time with a trip when this is over. I earn my PTO, I'm documenting my work, and I'm certainly not on vacation. That would be tough for people who can't work right now, but I can see letting them have second pick if certain dates are popular. Getting off track here, I've never had WFH before so I've always wondered if you take a personal/vaca day to stay home? Depending on how long this goes on I'd love to use one or two days just to not have to be glued to the computer, but I don't want to waste the days if I can't go anywhere or do something more fun than watch tv and maybe nap.

We were planning a 2 week beach vacation with family in July. We were planning to drive but my siblings and mom were flying. My mom has suggested we cancel, which I’m fine with. I don’t want them getting on a plane. And our condo can be fully refunded until 30 days before.
The second week of that vacation is with DH’s family and we haven’t cancelled yet. We will all drive, if it happens. ILs will for sure hold out until the last possible moment hoping that we all can go.
We were planning Disney World in November. I’ve cancelled that. Even if the parks are open, I anticipate it being very busy because of everyone who has rescheduled. We will (hopefully) revisit that in 2021.
I have a trip booked for the end of June/beginning of July. It's a trip on my bucket list so I'm just kind of trying to ignore the possibility of cancelling it or it being cancelled. If that were to be the case I think we'd try to reschedule for June/July 2021.
We have a hotel booked for mid July. Its driving distance and we can cancel up to 3 days before. From my understanding, experts are saying this may be gone in the summer and come back in the fall. IDK if thats true or not but we have time to cancel. Hopeful optimism. lol
litskispeciality, I took off next Thurs/Fri to get some house projects done/hang out with my kid during "spring break."
I have over 140 hours of use or lose leave. There's no way I'm leaving it on the table. Just because we're WFH doesn't mean we don't need to make sure we're staying healthy. That might be some time off.
My only hope is a week in the woods/mountains in July or August. Otherwise, I think we're going to invest in a patio. It'll help extend our living area so we can be outside more and we'll be contributing to the local economy.
I said this in the other thread but we have a townhouse in Ocean City MD in July for my H's parent's 40th anniversary. They wanted a trip with the grandkids. I was already kind of stressed about staying in tight quarters and sleeping in the same room as my kid, so if we end up not being able to go it's OK. It's booked by my SIL through AirBNB- not sure of the refund policy?
My brothers wedding was rescheduled for October 30th, and now I'm already worried that won't work because they're predicting a fall resurgence. Is there ever NOT something to be anxious about right now?!
We are supposed to go to Hawaii in June. I'm expecting to need to cancel. We booked through Costco so I know we will get refunds from hotels and credits back on flights.
I was going to Colorado next month for a reunion (for my daughter). I was going to Myanmar for 3 weeks in June for work (senior trip at my school for global scholars). I was going to Spain, France, and Italy with my mom in July for 18 days.
ALL CANCELLED.
We'll go to Europe in the summer of 2021, hopefully. Colorado can be redone whenever. But Myanmar won't happen again.
At the moment we have a cruise booked for August 30 (we booked it in November), but remains to be seen if this will happen. So far we've only paid the deposit. the rest is due Jun1 so we'll reassess then, although it's refundable up to 48 hrs before, and fully refundable if they cancel.
One of my cousins is getting married at the end of June, and another in mid-August. I would like to be able to attend both of these weddings, but who knows. The August wedding is about an 8-hour drive away, so I'm hopeful we could still make that one. The June wedding is about 1000 miles away; we hadn't made any solid plans yet and were actually thinking of making a long road trip out of it, anyway; maybe that would still be possible. I don't really know though. I'm not in a hot spot and so don't feel like I have a good sense of what it's "really" like - I wouldn't want to make a big road trip if none of the places we'd like to stop at would be open.

I have a work trip planned in May that I am sure I am going to have to cancel. I'm not planning any more work or personal travel this year but I am getting geared up to use points if the opportunity presents itself. I'm using my travel credit cards exclusively to get as many points as possible during this time so once we are free to roam, I'm going to book something.
I just booked our camping site for Acadia in mid-August, we drive there so I'm thinking it will be fine. We were suppose to fly to San Diego in July which I doubt we'll be doing, especially since so many of the things we wanted to do include big groups (legoland, disneyland)- but, I'm not ruling anything out. So much has changed in just two weeks there's nothing to say that so much won't change 4 months from now.
If we can't go to July then we'll probably book a week at our friend's beach house in Sandbridge- it's pretty isolated, so we'd be nice and spaced out on the beaches and be hanging at the pool. I can't imagine still being this locked down in July. Every chart and graph I've seen says we should be able to loosen up a bit in the summer, so I'm clinging to that.
