We have a family cabin in Maine that is shared among my father and his two brothers and their children, spouses, and grandchildren. We usually all gather in May and October to work putting the dock in the water, remove storm windows, etc. Then we all get our own separate times during the summer.
So...I just said to my mom that there there is no way we can all gather in the spring! It is a tiny cabin with about 15 people crammed in.
Also, we are reworking the summer calendar so that there is a 3-4 day gap between all of us. Generally, someone leaves on a Saturday morning and the next group shows up that afternoon so I don't know how that will work yet, but we will block out time.
My best friend and her family always come in August. I think I'm going to tell her that they might not be able to come, depending on the situation then.
I have a work trip to NYC scheduled for July and I’m 99% sure it will be canceled. There’s a different trip to Orlando in February 2021 and we were going to make it a family trip and take DS to Disney, but now I’m even more apprehensive to put any money on that. We’ve been casually talking about what kind of trip we’d like to take when DH is done with his treatment, but obviously aren’t making any plans yet for several reasons.

We are supposed to go to Boston in June, camping a few times, and to Hawaii in August. We haven’t canceled yet, but I don’t expect any of them (maybe the camping) to actually happen. I don’t like staying in one place, but there’s not much we can do at the moment.
I assume Disney is still closed, but I wonder when they'll re-open. I guess like a cruise that's one of the last places I'd want to be for a while because you can't keep up with the cleaning, and the hoards of people.
Wildrice thanks for the perspective. I'm working FT from home so I hope my employer won't have a hard time with a trip when this is over. I earn my PTO, I'm documenting my work, and I'm certainly not on vacation. That would be tough for people who can't work right now, but I can see letting them have second pick if certain dates are popular. Getting off track here, I've never had WFH before so I've always wondered if you take a personal/vaca day to stay home? Depending on how long this goes on I'd love to use one or two days just to not have to be glued to the computer, but I don't want to waste the days if I can't go anywhere or do something more fun than watch tv and maybe nap.
If you want to take a day off because you need a mental break and want to lay around watching Netflix and not working, you can definitely use vacation!
Honestly I see a remote work day as exactly the same thing as an in-office work day - if you are working, you aren't on vacation, and if you aren't working, you take a vacation day. Obviously working from home gives more flexibility how you frame your day (assuming you have that kind of autonomy) - I might end up screwing around for 2 hours during the afternoon and then spending 2 hours in the evening working instead, for example. But if I just decided not to do any work one day, I really should use a vacation day for that.
I'm with you though, I probably won't use any vacation during this time because I like to use vacation to DO things. It's very rare for me to take a day at home just because. Especially right now when we have nothing going on on the weekends, I'd rather just reserve those days for relaxing and save my PTO for better times.
We have a girls's spa trip in AZ in July (flying from Seattle). I REALLY hope it's not canceled. After all of this, I would love a few days away from my family. But I'm not feeling super hopeful.

We have a cruise in HI scheduled for late June. I doubt it will happen and I'm disappointed, but more so for my MIL (this is her dream family vacation). We have cancellation insurance on everything but I'm still nervous that they (the cruise line and the airline) will not honor it if technically things are up and running but we decide (on our own) to cancel.
Last night I spur-of-the-moment booked us flights to a Caribbean island because tickets from our small airport were $235. The date isn't until late October so I feel pretty confident about it.
But if that has to be pushed back, so be it - the airline isn't doing change or cancellation fees for anything purchased right now, and we are very flexible. And I'm not going to book lodging or anything else until the fall. If we have to wait until January or something like that, the Caribbean will be even nicer!
We have a June Europe trip planned that I'm really bummed to cancel. We haven't done anything yet, everything is paid for and I don't want the hassle of trying to undo it, and I really want to go
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
The more I think about this the more frustrated I get. I understand this wasn't predictable, but the African Safari my friend and I booked for June/July was what I was referring to in my other post and we booked that well over a year ago and it's still a few months away. I just wonder if we'll actually ever be able to go/rebook. 😟
We are hoping for a late September trip for Disneyland and baseball for my DD's 12th birthday. It's booked, but all 3 of us know there's a good likelihood it won't happen.
I don't have a Minnesota trip planned, but my dad continues to fight cancer and as soon as it's safe for us to visit I would like to go.
We are hopeful to, but we have not gotten refunded for the trip we had to cancel for this spring. It’s been about 3-4 weeks since we cancelled and they are telling us up to 90 days for a refund . I’m worried we will never see that money. The company could be out of business by then and it makes no sense why it would take so long for a refund.
Assuming we get it back, we are hoping for a late fall or early winter trip. However if we lose the $9,000 we will not be going anywhere.
We have a trip to England planned and booked for mid September for my SIL’s wedding. I guess she is waiting until June to reschedule it or not. We booked a week at the beach in MA for July, so not sure if that’ll happen. My H is also supposed to go to Denmark in August.
We have airfare booked for Iceland in September (assuming this will be cancelled/moved) We have a dive liveaboard and airfare booked for Thailand booked over Christmas. (This I’ll be most disappointed about if it’s a no go - booked the dive portion in Aug last year) We have deposit down for Bonaire at the end of a June (highly doubt this is will go as planned - probably move to 2021)

We have not yet cancelled our trip to Canada for July, we will cancel at the time that we have to for the various reservations, and are kind of waiting for the airline to modify their policy, since they likely will not be keeping the flights. I am sad, but in the scheme of things lost by people from this, a vacation, even a spring and summer, is nothing.
We have a trip to NYC planned for June to see a show, and a trip to northern California booked for July. We haven't cancelled either one yet. DH has talked about it, but I want to wait at least another month or so before we do it.
I'm going to have a really hard time letting go of the NYC trip, even though I know I will probably have to. DH got me the tickets to see Wicked as part of my Christmas gift, and I've been so excited about it.
Family cabin at end of May, a 10 hour trip but within our province. The situation here is cautious and measured but things seem to be working. Since we don't have money involved in the trip we'll just wait to see what makes sense in 6 weeks.
We also have camping trips up island booked for the summer so we'll just wait to see what BC Parks announce. They'll issue refunds if park services are still closed.
We booked a trip to the mountains, about 3 hours from home in a private AirBnb at the end of May.
I’m very conservative about all of this, and have not left home in 20 days. But I’m strangely still considering going to this? It’s just our immediate family, the 4 of us who have been quarantined together. We would likely stop for gas once on the round trip, but other than that just hang out at the Airbnb and hike. We’ve cancelled all other fun outings we planned to do while there, but still thought a change of scenery might be nice.
We cancelled a longer trip that was supposed to happen this week (driving, but 12 hours) and we are anticipating cancelling a trip (flight) to Maine in July. So it’s not that I’m opposed to cancelling.
I’m not saying I will feel the same way in a month, which is when we can cancel. But based on the above, am I insane to even consider this? No hard feelings if the answer is yes. I’m not sure I’m thinking clearly.
I have a flight back to Canada for my BFFs wedding in October. My mom rescheduled her flight for end of August. We’re hoping we can reschedule Malta for sometime between Sept and December. My H’s friends wedding is rescheduled for November.
But who knows if any of this will happen.
As soon as we can, we are booking big vacations. Longer time in Malta. Australia. 2+ weeks in Baltics.

My husband is running the Marine Corps Marathon in October, which is in DC. I booked a Priceline hotel deal months ago, and got insurance. We're driving distance, and if things settle down we may still go even if the race is cancelled. We'll see.
We are flying from Oregon to Arkansas for a wedding in October. We bought the trip insurance just in case my BIL and his FI had to move the wedding, but definitely hopeful that everything will be fine by then. It will also be our DD's first flight. She'll be 8 months old.

I’m in NY, my sister is in CO, pg and due in Sept. it’s going to break my heart if I cannot get out to see her soon after baby comes! We have other short trips planned but those don’t matter as much. I have no flights booked as I don’t know if I’m staying to help for a bit or making it a quick trip.
BIL’s wedding was scheduled for May 9 in Cincinnati. They rescheduled for August 15th. Hoping there’s no issues with that date.
I am leaning more and more towards booking a balls out Disney vaca for our kids once it is all over. Balls out is a totally appropriate way to describe a Disney vacation.
Although I may just say let’s fly to Europe once we can finally do it.
We haven't cancelled Costa Rica. We have till June to decide. (travel in July) I have my doubts that Costa Rica is just going to let people from America visit this year. We have only put a deposit on the rental and we think that we will be getting credits from AA for the flights. We will likely just rebook for next year.
We are considering a trip to Lake Tahoe or somewhere remote in its place. I have SO many hours of PTO. By then it will be 300 hours. I will have to take 100 of those hours or they will disappear. That is if we I don't get sick and need to take a leave.
