I would live in these if I could, and I need some new ones. Do you mind linking to the ones you bought?
I don’t have the link handy, but they were just Hanes stretch cotton camisoles with shelf bra. I got them on Amazon, but I’m sure they’re available elsewhere.
I’ve been looking for new shelf bra tanks too. Thanks!
It is making me nostalgic for 2003 era Express where they sold one in every color imaginable.
It’s actually the opposite. The shortage of hospital beds and physicians in rural areas has been a simmering crisis for many years now. People who live in rural areas also tend to be less healthy and have more chronic conditions than their urban counterparts.
It doesn’t even need to hit THAT hard for hospitals to become overwhelmed. Critical access hospitals and freestanding emergency departments are often all that’s available to rural populations, and they often have to drive hours to get there.
Someone shared this here a couple weeks ago, and it's all I can think about. It is a map that shows how many ICU beds are in each county, which lots of counties not even having a hospital, let alone an ICU bed.
It's going to be awful for rural Americans. It is such a tragedy in the making that it kills me to watch.
Yeah if you want to see why TN is absolutely FUCKED, look at the ICU bed map and also note how many counties don't even have a hospital. We didn't expand medicaid and our Republican legislature even refused our previous Republican governor's plan to bridge that gap. And now our current Republican governor thinks Jesus will save us all.
I hate virtually everything about this, but I really do enjoy working from home... Mostly proving that my job, in fact can be done totally at home.
I also enjoy wearing yoga pants every day.
I am looking forward to some of the changes this may bring for people, like more relaxed dress codes and WFH policies.
But I mean, I work in tech, so I could already wear yoga pants to work whenever I wanted to. So maybe that’s another reason this hasn’t resonated — people shouldn’t have to die so the rest of us can wear comfy pants! We could have just, you know, started wearing comfy pants.
I feel about this article like I feel about a lot of what Brene Brown says. Sure, it does a better job at giving a nod to the fact that "some people" (who are definitely Othered in this article, btw,) have it bad, but those of us in the upper middle class just need to do a meditation, pick up a craft, opt for a new Netflix series, snuggle in with a soft blanket, and "choose happiness." Truly, how many of us does this actually apply to?

And, even among those of us who are quite privileged, which of us isn't also worried sick about a family member who works in health care, a potential upcoming layoff, not being able to get one of the 5 foods our kids will eat, a child with a disability for whom e-learning isn't accommodating, an at-risk elderly parent?
Is this the "cozy catastrophe" we wanted? No. Are there bright glimmers for many of us? Sure! But we could have had them (work-life balance, time to take care of our health and fitness, a bit more leisure time to read or think or just be) without a global pandemic. What we wanted was a goddamn break. This isn't it.
This. I'm very privileged. I have a job. My husband has his job. Our jobs pay fairly well. We are two adults living in 1400 square feet of space, which, even being home all the time, feels luxurious. I work out of the office on the second floor (with a door) and he works at our dining room table, which has enough room to seat 8 people, on a different floor. We are able to always buy more than what we need, so we always have a small stock of extra essential items, like toilet paper and soap and canned goods.
So far, the only concession we've had to make was me giving up my 3% raise (temporarily) due to company budget cuts. Although there's a greater than 0% chance my company will fold, I have a job with them as long as they still exist. However, that possibility keeps me up at night. It also keeps me working 10-12 hour days to try to make sure I don't lose more clients and am therefore unemployed. I wake up stressed about what I need to do and what I should have already gotten done. We laid 4 people off last week, and everyone's work load increased.
H and I both worry about our parents, all of whom are high-risk.
I am constantly acknowledging that I'm so much luckier than many people at this time, but my stress levels are still through the roof.

Cue me rolling my eyes and clutching my fucking pearls because these idiots in non-Medicaid expansion states are STILL refusing to expand (which they could do literally instantaneously by state plan amendment) when their state budgets are looking to be hit hard by the impact of the virus and the coming recession. Oh my god, help yourselves! Help your constituents! It obviously won’t solve everything but you have the power to do something.

Meanwhile Polis had given a new enrollment period to people who needed it. It was supposed to expire tomorrow but he extended it again through the end of April. I'm so glad he did because I think a lot of people are still in shock and might not be thinking to enroll *right now.*

Most of the state-based ACA Marketplaces are doing this and it’s awesome! Of course the vast majority of states use the federally facilitated marketplace for marketplace coverage and Trump refuses to designate a new special enrollment period for COVID through the FFM because he is a raging asshole.
Costco has some splendid leggings that next time I go I’m hoping they are still there so I can stock up on some more.I also got some 32 degree capris, they are like $7 and so stupidly comfortable
I have WFH full time since 2014, my H since late 2016 so for us that is pretty normal.
However, I almost had a full on panic attack today at the grocery store because there were too many people and definitely within 6 feet. I've used Kroger pickup for about 2 years but now I can't get a slot so I'm having to strategize how to get food safely and I hate it.
I realize this is a week old, but I recently discovered the secret to Kroger. They release their time slots for a day, 7 days in advance, literally at midnight. So this past Sunday night, I had my cart ready and refreshed at midnight and all the slots for next Monday became available. The good news is you can keep changing your order throughout the week once you have your time slot saved.
