I have to drive into the office tomorrow, so I'm trying to think of what I need to get while I"m out. Trying to do drive through whenever I can. I should call the pharmacy to see if I can pay ahead so they don't have to touch my card.
DH and I also realized that every time we plan (we have to plan over a year in advance because of his job) to go to CA something really bad happens personally or nationally.
On a positive note though we bought Super Mario Party for Switch last night, and it's really fun. We're going to do a family game night this weekend. This game is fun for adults only (we don't have kids).

Sorry if I messed up quoting. I tried to delete the unrelated parts. But when I do drive thru I pull out my card ahead of time, then when I’m at the window I wipe it with a disinfectant wipe, and hold the card with that when I pass it to them. Then when they hand it back I wipe it down again. Then the wipe goes in that days’s discard bag. I think it makes us both feel protected. (I keep a container of wipes on my front seat.)

You can pay ahead with CVS through the app. I did that a few weeks ago.
Leeham Rimes , E has had some sleeping issues too. She's very anxious and has already had a shit year with a broken leg.
She ended up falling asleep in our bed b/c I just couldn't GAF about it anymore. If cuddling with us helps her, then so be it.
Ummmm, C has literally moved into our bed with me. Husband sleeps wherever. At least this way we all sleep through the night. Since this started, if she starts in her own room she wakes me up about 3am and tells me she's scared but doesn't know why.
CVS will also just send you most prescriptions. Getting signed up for it was a debacle but I very much appreciate not having to go into a pharmacy right now.
My friend/coworker got married on FB live last night. They were married outside, and it was just her, her new husband, her parents, and their officiant. It was so nice to be able to celebrate something happy for a change.
I decorated a new name plate sign to cover her old one with her new last name. I had to come into the office today to cut checks, and she'll be in tomorrow. Some days it really is the little things.

I did this through an old insurance. Sadly that was the only way the old insurance would cover three month refills. I agree it was a giant PITA, but made it worth it. Even living within walking distance of a CVS it feels like it's a 45 minute visit no matter the (time of) day, time of year etc. Hoping if I can pay ahead and pick up at the drive through I'm limiting my exposure, as well as the cashiers.
That's awesome that the couple was able to stream their wedding, probably had more people there than they would have otherwise. My co-worker is scheduled to get married in August and they're already going through the pros and cons of cancelling just about everything. Makes me glad my wedding is done, but reminds me why I begged to elope. I'd hate to be in that situation right now and worry about losing all that money if the place won't give you the money back.
I got the Revel powder dip nail kit yesterday, so I did my nails (and dd's nails) this morning. It went better than I thought. They aren't perfect but pretty darn good. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to do home manicures!
I took the kids on a walk yesterday and ran into some neighbors I hadn't talked to in years (we both forget each others names!). The women walked towards me and reached out to shake my hand and I recoiled in horror. LOL! She immediately pulled her hand back and apologized. It's so ingrained. And another reason why social distancing is so important! We think we're being good, but it's hard to be conscious of it all the time.
DH is out in the real world today running errands. It seems so weird. And we found a couple of N95 masks from an old opened multi-pack (last two!) so at least he has a mask on.
I am laughing at how he prioritizes things...pup prescription first, then picking up the key to the office space the company rented so that they have a place for meetings (when clients or the EU counterparts are here), then Total Wine, Whole Foods, and back near the first stop to pick up pet food before coming home.
He was concerned about the frozen dog food defrosting in the car, or he would have gone there second, but we have insulated bags in the car, (and maybe even a cooler) and the food is really well frozen, so it should have been fine. Whatever.
He called and said that Whole Foods is out of everything. Not everything on our list, but the shelves are empty and the produce section was pretty bare. No flour other than gluten free and 1 lb bags. He sounded grumpy, but I'm thinking that it was just trying to listen to me, find things, and put them in his bag at the same time was too much for him. lol
DH came home from work and says he's not feeling well. No fever, but just fatigue and his normal allergy cough, but he says it feels worse.
I told him to go take a nap. I think a combination of anxiety and allergies is not helping. I'm not saying he couldn't be sick, but I'm trying to remain positive.
You know that front line medical workers don’t have enough N95 masks, right? And your husband is wearing one to run errands?
They don't generally take donations of opened packages do they? So unless they personally know a healthcare worker to give it to, I don't think this is a horrific misuse of PPE.

My Facebook feed is full of posts begging for them, but I do know quite a few nurses. I don’t think it would be that hard to find a nurse willing to take an opened package.

USPS delivered a box that doesn’t belong to me. I don’t know this person and the apartment number on the box actually doesn’t exist, but mine is the closest, so I guess that’s why I got it? The apartment complex won’t take the box, nor will they tell me if this person lives here, which I get, but I just want this lady to get her box! USPS says they won’t take the box back because of the virus. I guess I should open it and call the company? I just want to get her the box in the safest way possible.

Depends on the policy of the hospital. Many can only take non expired and unopened.
I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham

I’m not trying to argue or be difficult, but nurses are rewearing masks, making homemade masks... if you have a new N95 mask they will GLADLY take it. They are not listening to hospital rules about this, at least around here (NY state).

I’d also like to point out that a lot of healthcare facilities can’t even purchase ANY N95 masks. If suppliers happen to have any available, they are only selling them to companies that have a history of purchasing them. So if you happen to be a behavioral hospital, you’re basically screwed. It’s to the point where it’s even difficult to purchase gloves and sanitizers that are needed in order to safely operate.
The worst part is that most of these people that you see wearing PPE to run errands aren’t even wearing it correctly. I know it probably doesn’t seem like a big deal, but when you think about how many people are essentially wasting PPE to go purchase wine, it adds up!

The media is now giving such mixed messaging about this. I tend to agree with you, but I also think we're getting a message now that we SHOULD all be wearing masks and that if people have just a couple that they bought a while ago for personal use, I don't think they are necessarily morally obligated to seek out a heathcare worker to give them to. I think donating 2 masks is in many ways like putting a band aid on a bullet wound and from what we're hearing now, we may actually prevent people from becoming patients (and thus creating more problems for healthcare workers) by having individuals wear masks. Not to mention that if every household who had a couple of masks in opened packaging went to donate them right now, there would likely be a lot of exposure from people venturing out of their houses, donating non-sterile equipment that was potentially stored and handled by an infected person, etc.
ETA: But, despite the above, if you have opportunity to purchase PPE right now and you're not a healthcare worker - don't do it. And don't steal them either! I'm strictly talking about things you own in small quantities from before all this started. If you have a whole box of them please do find a better way of sharing them.

When these random people aren’t wearing the PPE correctly or following proper doffing procedures, I’m pretty sure that it negates the purpose of wearing it in the first place.

To the point of mixed messages, the local news had a doctor showing how to make a mask out of a tee shirt, so I think they are creating more panic. I"m 100% donate every single mask you can get your hands on to healthcare workers, but the messages are only going to make it worse. I heard even cheeto recommends wearing a scarf if you don't have a mask, but honestly don't go to him for medical advice.

These are not new. They are not in donatable condition or they would have been donated already.
We had actually worn them briefly when we were working on a project several months ago, but didn't need them for long so we put them back on the shelf for our own use later.
My niece tried to donate some new N95 masks and was told to keep them for her family. This was in the PNW a couple of weeks ago. She was so confused by that response. I think she was going to try somewhere else.

I had a rough morning. I am super stressed right now. I have POA over my dad and manage his finances but he is 5 states away in a nursing home. I could not get a hold of him for two weeks and every time I called his center the line was busy. I finally got through yesterday only to find out they plan to raise his rent in May. (is that even legal?). After he pays his rent, he has less than $400 per month to live on. I supplement his income and this raise in rent is going to impact us both greatly. Mostly because MY lease is up at the end of June and I have to find a new place to live and there is NOTHING in my price range locally. Rents have gone up sky high around here and my raise this year just wan't enough. I'm a single mom, trying to keep my job and keep my shit together and this AM I just lost it. Got in a fight with my boyfriend because we are both stressed to the max. I wish I felt in control of one thing. I did get up and work out. So there is that.

Why do I turn the news on? Why are they telling people to go INTO a bank next week to file for unemployment if the point is to stay home, stay inside? I really hope people are really watching with a clear mind and remember this come election time.
My permanent retainer on my bottom teeth that I've literally had since 1998 decided to come unglued on one side. Just by the TINIEST bit, but its scratching my tongue (not poking or cutting but its not comfortable) and its all I can focus on. Anyone have any suggestions for me, lol. I actually do have an orthodontist again because I did an Invisalign consult but I doubt this qualifies as an emergency unless its actually cutting me. Of course this would happen while everythings shut down.

steph96, I did grab some, haven't tried it yet. I was worried it wouldn't really stay on. But admittedly I've never used it lol. I just want the damn thing off now.

It should stay on pretty well and I have heard orthodontists will cut those for you right now. I don’t know about everyone but you might ask?
