I hope you're all holding up ok and hopefully getting a few minutes a day to read. I'm in a bit of a lull so I'm starting the thread looking for new ideas. What did you read this week and/or what are you reading now?
QOTW: What (if you have one) is your favorite re-read, that you have read several times or could pick up again and again in the future?

I'm still chipping away at "Daisy Jones and the Six" however I hope to pick something else up too.
QOTW: Stargirl, in fact I want to re-read before we get Disney Plus as they've made a movie (that I don't think will do it justice). I would add "A Walk to Remember" as well, but I feel weird reading Nicholas Sparks now.
Just finished Winter Garden by Kristen Hannah, really enjoyed it, but it is sad. Also nearly done listening to The Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo. Excellent but dark. Narrator is good.
QOTW: the outlander series. It’s like visiting an old friend.

I finished the latest Black Dagger Brotherhood book, The Sinner, last night. I'm jumping back into Frankly In Love. Still working through HP#1 with my kids. We are struggling because there is literally no routine anymore.
QOTW: I really like to reread Pride and Prejudice every so often.
I'm currently reading/listening to a silly historical romance An Inconvenient Duke by Anna Harrington. This week I finished reading:
The Glass Hotel by Emily St. John (same author of Station Eleven which is a great book but don't read that right now because it's about a pandemic haha) - 4.5 stars! It's a character study/character driven plot, so if you like that kind of book (which I obviously do) then you should check it out.
Eight Perfect Murders by Peter Swanson - 2.5 stars. I'm still pissed about this book because it purposely spoils SEVERAL books, including one I really wanted to read, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Christie Agatha. Definitely not a book worth reading considering that.
Smoke Bitten by Patricia Briggs - 4 stars. This is the newest Mercy Thompson book. It has it's usual 'too many things going wrong at once' plot line but also has a focus on Mercy/Adam which was different. I liked it even though it was maybe filler for the series as an overall plot arc.
QOTW: I have been into re-reading more than usual this year because it's somehow comforting. I've been sticking to the romance-ish books because I don't want anything deep or emotionally upsetting. Some of my re-reads:
Tempt Me at Twilight by Lisa Kleypas (historical romance) Love in the Afternoon by Lisa Kleypas (historical romance) Rules of Redemption by T.A. White (sci-fi-ish fantasy/romance) re-read due to new series release Sweep in Peace by Ilona Andrews (urban fantasy) re-read now that I have read the author's Edge series so now I know the backstory of some crossover characters! The Winter King by C.L. Wilson (fantasy romance) Kyland by Mia Sheridan (contemporary romance) Dream a Little Dream by Susan Elizabeth Phillips (contemporary romance)
I just started The Glass Hotel — glad to hear you liked it, ufcasey! I’m missing my library. There are so many books just out or coming out and I was near the top of the wait list for most of the ones I was excited about. But I have no shortage of reading material, so I’m not really complaining.
Qotw: I like to reread the Harry Potter series. The Poisonwood Bible is one I revisit every few years, but it’s not a comforting book.
I read The Night Watchman this week. It took me a bit to get into it but overall it was a good reading experience. I’m starting The Yellow House today.
QOTW: I always have the intention of re-reading my favorite books but I never have. If I ever get motivated I’d like to reread:
To Kill a Mockingbird The Count of Monte Cristo Middlesex She’s Come Undone Jane Eyre The Awakening The Power and the Glory
(A lot are classics because I read them in school and remember loving them but would like to experience them as an adult.)
I've realized I have to read easy to read stuff b/c I need the escape. I'm currently reading "You Are Not Alone," but not sure if I should put it back into the queue. So far hasn't grabbed me.
Read: Panty Dropper (Southern Comfort #1), by Melanie Shawn - not good, no plot, weird cliff hanger Romancing the Duke (Castles Ever After, #1) by Dare, Tessa - no clue how it was on my TBR, but it was fun, cute story. Roomies by Lauren, Christina - it was ok, not as good as some of their other books. No Judgments (Little Bridge Island #1) by Meg Cabot - ok, sort of an odd book overall with the relationship
I'm still reading through The Last Wish. I go through phases--some days I read a lot and some days I mope and do next to nothing and watch a lot of tv.
QOTW: Like mrspez07, I will reread Outlander in a heartbeat. Technically I am in the middle of a reread-through, but I keep having other books come in from the library and I still have some books that DH gave me for Christmas so I'm partway through Fiery Cross for the third (fourth?) time. I also love rereading HP. I used to reread Interview with the Vampire but I've kind of outgrown it now.
I finished This Tender Land by William Krueger, 3.5*. I didn't care for this book at first because it started very similar to The Nickel Boys, which I didn't care for. However, once the kids start their adventure I really started to enjoy the book. I started The Mother-in-Law by Sally Hepworth last night.
Earlier this week I finished A Quiet Life in the Country by T.E. Kinsey. I wanted something light and easy so I thought a cozy mystery would work. This was fine but not particularly good. I don't feel the desire to continue the series.
Now I am reading Deathless Divide, the sequel to Dread Nation. I was actually supposed to pick this up from the library a few weeks ago but they shut down about 15 minutes before I got there. Finally gave in and bought it.
QOTW: I don't really re-read books. Just the occasional Christopher Pike paperback.
I’m finding it hard to get more than a few minutes at a time to pick up a book. This week I made a tiny bit of progress on Who Do You Love by Jennifer Weiner (a coronavirus lend from a neighbor) and Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder with the kids.
I hardly ever reread anything, though some of these kid books are repeats for me from 30 years ago.
I finished the Honey-Don't List last night. It started as a kind of meandering mess but by 50% in I was hooked and ripped through the rest. Easy read for sure. On to the American Royals now.
QOTW: I do re-read's of Harry Potter every so often. Right now DD and I are reading the series together. We are on book 2. I could be down for some re-reads of Christopher Pike books though!
I’m reading Open Book by Jessica Simpson. The first part (of 4) was pretty boring but the next 2 parts have been great. I’m almost done, I should finish by today or tomorrow.
I’m having such a hard time reading. I can’t focus on anything.
QOTW: I really dislike rereading most books. I’ve been picking up books from childhood and high school since it’s been long enough I barely remember them: The Giver, The Lion, The Witch and Wardrobe, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, Charlottes Web, etc. I’ve been reading them with my kids which helps because it’s totally new for them.
