Argh! I wrote a big ol’ post and it was eaten. Pulling up a zombie thread to share my experience in case it helps any one.
Short version - I booked a place for July (back in February). Flights were canceled, host said I’d get a full refund. Confirmation page from AirBNB said the same - refund of $480, but confirmation email said $0.
I went through their resolution center and it only let me request up to $380 refund for extenuating circumstances. Host said she didn’t know why but assumes it’s AirBNB’s fee that’s not being refunded. Now going to try to track down AirBNB customer service to ask for the other $100 back.

Keep escalating with Airbnb. Their customer service is so insanely slow but they just extended their full cancellation policy thru July but since the host has cancelled, the fees should be refunded. Good luck!
I had a check-in of June 11 and Airbnb just extended their cancellation policy through June 15. However, I was only able to get an Airbnb credit for the deposit, rather than a full refund. The credit can be used at ANY Airbnb through 2021, not just the specific place I rented.

Thanks! I was the one who canceled after the flights were canceled (full $$ refund from Southwest Airlines after I called - instead of vouchers for future flights). I’ll keep trying, AirBNB’s site still said end of May for full refunds as of today....

Why weren’t you able to get a full refund? They’re allowing full refunds through 6/15 per their policy so this doesn’t make sense.
Just curious because we have a check in of 6/27 and we’re hoping they extend to 6/30 eventually as we’d like a full refund.

I was just looking at this and I swear their website says you are entitled to a "full cash refund". We just got an email from the place were meant to stay in Paris starting June 14 asking if we're coming (obvs, don't know yet), and that we could move it to 12 months from now (which we will do if we can't go this year) but if we cancel, no refund. So I looked it up and she's wrong, according to AirBNB's website.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

Mine only gave me the option of a partial refund or the full credit. I didn’t escalate it because we use Airbnb regularly so we will have no problems using the credit by December 2021. (Also I had only paid the deposit - maybe policy is different if you’ve fully paid?)
FWIW the rental was in Chicago and we were driving, so no canceled flights.
Those getting full refunds, are you getting the money back or a credit for future travel?
Our trip was Memorial Day weekend and the county (Oregon Coast) has banned ST rentals through 5/31 so even if I wanted to go, I couldn't. I made the reservation in January and the second half payment was taken this week. They are only offering me 50% refund or 100% travel credit. I'd consider the credit if I had already paid if full and didn't have to immediately pay my credit card.
I got a refund from the host. Airbnb has offered to “try” to request a partial travel credit for the AirBNB fee (another $110!) That was what I got thru their chat, I haven’t tried calling yet.

The website only offered a 50% refund or 100% travel credit, but when I contacted AirBnB they were able to give me a 100% refund.
