I love $$$ shoes, but I’m dead at $500 sneakers that already look like you’ve owned them for a year, so you don’t mind getting them dirty and wearing them to the playground. OMFG. Buy 5+ pairs of the original Converse or Stan Smiths that these ripped off in the first place.
I love Vejas! My H buys Common Project sneakers. I bought him a pair for his birthday. They were 470. I don’t know why they’re 470 but he loves them.
See, these (Common Projects) are the shoes I really want. But I could literally wear them to everything here — including business meetings and conferences because, you know, it’s Silicon Valley.
I can’t quite pull the trigger on them at that price, but it’s the sort of the thing H would get as a gift (at least in the good ol’ days.)

Yeah no. These fall into the category of "American fashion trends I will never understand" along with those weird ballet flats with bright blue soles and prints on leggings.
In theory, (and other than the cost), these are shoes that should be right up my alley because I hate the way that new white sneakers look (on me). I love the look of Converse but I think they are really uncomfortable, and I like things that look worn/distressed and much loved (like the velveteen rabbit).
In reality, I kind of like the solid colored ones...I saw a photo with someone wearing them and I liked that the whole outfit/look had an ease to it. If they were really really comfortable and I had a lot of money to burn, I might consider them, even though I completely agree that buying shoes that look dirty sounds absurd. Most likely I would put them in my cart online and remove them though... that is just a lot to spend on shoes for me.
I put SS because I do not have a pair but I have been wanting them for a couple of years now. I try to buy designer shoes on sale so I am just waiting for a pair that I want in my size to be discounted.

My Converse kill my pinky toes, but I want to like them so much.
People buy (very expensive) distressed jeans, so I’m not sure why distressed shoes are that surprising.

I still think these are crazy expensive, but at least they’re not ugly. I can see why someone would want these. Not so much with the Golden Goose ones.
