1. 26w, 3d
2. I'm still working on registry/baby items we need lists/spreadsheets. I had a come-to-Jesus talk with H last night that I need his help, he has been saying that he doesn't know anything about babies - well, neither do I! It will be nice to split some of the research stuff. Thank you to the poster last week who suggested I check out Lucie's List - it's helping! We've had a few people ask us about where we're registered, and a couple of people have semi-brought up virtual baby showers. So I might get a baby shower - a virtual one, but at least there might be a little something to celebrate our baby boy.
3. What baby/registry items have you found unhelpful or something you didn't end up using?
4. We really haven't bought or received much yet. Right now, I'm most looking forward to figuring out baby's coming home outfit(s), it's superficial but it's a fun planning distraction.
5. Our baby will be the first grandchild for my parents and my ILs.
And I wish I could say there was a lot of excitement, but there isn't. My mom probably would have been thrilled, but she passed away in 2017 and won't be able to meet her grandson. My dad was kinda excited, and became a little more so when he found out we're having a boy - but he was never really into being a father, so I'm not sure what to expect from him. Since my dad has a strong boy/gender bias, my child's sex may persuade him to be more involved than he was with me or if I was having a girl. My ILs were excited at first, but then they found out we're having a boy, and their excitement has dwindled since then (they have strong girl/gender bias with their children, and apparently their grandchild). They live on the other side of the country, but I hope they realize how amazing their grandchild is and that their gender doesn't matter, and have a relationship with him one day.
Sorry for the buzzkill answer - sex/gender biases suck and I judge those who use them to rank kids/grandkids/etc. I often joke with H that, between the two of us, we both got the crap end of the gender bias-stick.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I know I have a ways to go yet, but I am honestly OVER being pregnant. I felt pretty good up until the very end of my pregnancy with my son but this time, I am already feeling so uncomfortable and things are difficult even with 9+ weeks to go. I don't know if it's because I'm a few years older, if it's because it's a second pregnancy, or because I've been on activity restriction so much of this pregnancy, but I just feel so sore and slow and incapable. UGH. I want my body back to myself ASAP, so much so that I am considering cutting back early on BF this time around.
3. Questions for the group? None as of now.
4. What has been the cutest baby item or piece of clothing you have bought or received so far? Or something you are excited to get if you haven’t quite started shopping yet? I haven't bought much yet. We don't need a ton of gear since we have most of it still from DS, but since this baby is a girl, we have very little clothing. I am having a hard time motivating myself to shop for girls clothes online...I wish I could go to the store. But I did start ordering things for her nursery, which is llama themed. I got the cutest little llama statute/stuffed animal/riding toy from Crate & Kids. I'm ordering the rest of the wall decor today.
5. Changing up the extra question - What number grandchild will this be on your and your husbands side? Are the grandparents excited? This will be the 2nd grandchild on both sides - the first on both sides being our son. H is an only child and my siblings don't have any near-term plans for kids. My MIL is thrilled; my FIL has been quietly happy I guess. My parents are super excited, and my mom, who I'm close with, is really excited for us to have a girl. I think she's excited for me to have a similar bond with my daughter as she and I do.
madDawg228, I registered for, but ended up returning, a Bumbo seat. My son really hated it, and I took classes with some experts who were very opposed to it from a developmental perspective.
2. I had a man ask if I was due this month today, so I must be looking bigger than I feel. My sleep has unfortunately been crummy this week and I'm exhausted. I may have to take Melatonin or a sleeping pill tonight.
3. Not that I can think of
4. I'm excited for one of the newborn outfits with a headband I bought her. I was debating using it as her coming home outfit, but I'm not sure if it will be warm enough.
5. This is grandchild number 3 on both sides (all our kids). Both sets of parents are very excited.

1. How far along are you this week? 22w 2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? My feet have started swelling. I don’t normally wear shoes inside and since I’m home all the time it’s taking a toll. I’ve cleaned a pair of crocs flats to wear inside hoping it helps 3. Questions for the group?
4. What has been the cutest baby item or piece of clothing you have bought or received so far? Or something you are excited to get if you haven’t quite started shopping yet?
I think I’ve picked out her lovey- the flamingo corduroy jelly cat. Dd1 has the fox and it’s so cute. I’m also excited to be able to have her wear DDs hand me downs.
5. Changing up the extra question - What number grandchild will this be on your and your husbands side? Are the grandparents excited?
This is #4 (3rd girl) on my side and #5 (3rd girl) on Dh side. Both sets are local and excited. It will be hard for them to stay away for a bit if things are still unstable with the pandemic.
2. Baby is head down as per my OB yesterday. Have an ultrasound in 2 weeks, hopefully she stays head down.
3. Nope
4. I bought a kyte sleeper which I think I am going to use as her coming home outfit. Also a couple cute swaddles, I might use one for her "birth announcement photo"
5. 6th on my husband's side, 5th granddaughter. DS is the only grandson. Second on my side, DS being the first. The in laws are meh, they have only visited I think 2 or 3 times since DS was born and hes almost 2. They live about 1.5 hours away.
My parents, mostly my dad, are insane. I know they come from a good place but my dad is very overbearing and basically thinks of DS as his own, which grates my nerves. They want to facetime everyday, which is fine, which when DS acts out and I tell him he shouldnt do that my dad has to butt in and tell me that I need to stop "scolding DS". They also expect us to visit every weekend and get annoyed when we dont. When we do go there my parenting is always questioned. Last time we were there DS threw something at me, on purpose, and DH spoke to him about it and my dad told us that "hes just a baby and that we shouldnt always be disciplining him". HUGE eyeroll, considering my dad was the worst parent ever and yelled at us for everything EVERYTHING. He also recently complained that it wasnt fair that we got to see DS all day everyday because of COVID-19 and he should "get him more" and made a comment about how once DD is born he expects to "get" DS more, like we share custody of him or something.

1. How far along are you this week? 13+3
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Had my NT scan this morning. Everything was perfect. I sobbed so hard I threw up.
3. Questions for the group? Not this week.
4. What has been the cutest baby item or piece of clothing you have bought or received so far? Or something you are excited to get if you haven’t quite started shopping yet? I’m so excited to start the nursery. We did buy the PB dresser we love when it was 50% off and it’s being delivered in June. It’s a space theme and it’s going to be super cute.
5. Changing up the extra question - What number grandchild will this be on your and your husbands side? Are the grandparents excited? I’ll answer for both me and my wife since I have no husband. 😉 This will be the second grandchild on both sides. Our parents are absolutely thrilled. My wife’s nephew is 12 so it’s been some time on that side and while my younger sister has a 1 year old I secretly think my parents are even more excited to see us finally have this baby after trying for so long. They are going to be awesome grandparents and baby is so loved.

1. How far along are you this week? -19w3d
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? -I'm happy about being close to the halfway mark. Anatomy scan is next week! Feeling a little anxious to see if they will allow my husband to come with me. I'm fine either way, it's just the uncertainty that's killing me.
3. Questions for the group? -Has anyone bought that magnesium lotion that's supposed to help you sleep? Was it worth it?
4. What has been the cutest baby item or piece of clothing you have bought or received so far? -My sister bought this for us. I love it.
5. Changing up the extra question - What number grandchild will this be on your and your partners side? Are the grandparents excited? -This will be my parents 9th grandchild, 1st on my husbands side. My parents are obviously happy for us, but my in-laws are over the moon. I'm excited for them, they'll be awesome grandparents.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Had my first telemedicine appt today and it went surprisingly well. I’ll go in for my next one to do the glucose test and then we’ll continue on for telemedicine as long as is needed, or until 36 wks.
Dd (3) was sitting next to me on the couch this morning. She picked up my shirt to “say hi to baby brother”, then she blew raspberries on my stomach....and he kicked her. LOL We both had a good laugh together.
3. Questions for the group? None
4. What has been the cutest baby item or piece of clothing you have bought or received so far? Or something you are excited to get if you haven’t quite started shopping yet? It’s tough, because we basically have everything we need for him. Most of the stuff we are buying is for dd, it convert her room to a big girl room, so we can change her toddler bed back into the crib. I’ve bought a few cute outfits that I am excited to get this week.
5. Changing up the extra question - What number grandchild will this be on your and your partners side? Are the grandparents excited? This will be #6 on my side (both my sister and stepbrother each have two girls, then there’s dd), but this is the first boy! This is number 4 for DH’s side, and the third boy. Everyone is really excited, especially after our loss last year.

4. What has been the cutest baby item or piece of clothing you have bought or received so far? Or something you are excited to get if you haven’t quite started shopping yet? I am excited about the Superbowl onesie we bought, but that just might be because our team won the Superbowl.
5. Changing up the extra question - What number grandchild will this be on your and your partners side? Are the grandparents excited? Number 2 on my side, 1st on his. His parents definitely seem more excited. ha!

madDawg228,I've found one person's "Must have list" is another's "what a waste list"
I found I was definitely a minimalist with first baby. And the more I could get used, the better!
After my shower, I had three totes of stuff that I didn't want. I took it all first to BabiesRUS, then target, then walmart. I ended up having several hundred dollars of gift cards. My husband was like "are you sure we shouldn't hang on to that stuff in case we need it". I said "if we need it, we can go back to the store and buy it with the gift card". I never regretted a single return. One thing I remember was TONS of baby wash/lotion/shampoo...I had no care to store that stuff until we needed it.
Lucie's list was helpful as was the baby bargains book

I'm 22 weeks
I'm absolutely peeing myself every time I cough, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot.
I haven't bought or recieved anything. But I need to, it would definitely spark some joy.
My side, my daughter is the only grandchild. My husbands side has three granddaughters. So he/she will be one of few. Everyone is happy, contained excitement.
