I'm spending way too much time online these days and am finding myself doing some online shopping that I probably wouldn't be if I weren't bored. What kind of things have you bought lately?
I've bought: lounge pants that have polka dots but the dots are sleeping cats, black out curtains for DD's bedroom (my spare bedroom), a new pair of teal glasses and anti-vomit cat dishes I saw advertised on FB.
I’m almost never pleased with stuff I buy online. I’m super picky so I really need to see/touch stuff to know if it’s going to be exactly what I want. I keep reminding myself of this to keep myself from buying shit online. Even still, I bought $500 worth of jewelry from Kendra Scott a few weeks ago. I like all of it enough but likely wouldn’t have bought any of it had I seen it in person first. And no, I won’t return it because I’m just too lazy for that.
I need a desk and desk chair for my office and I’ve shopped online quite a bit but have so far kept myself from ordering anything.
Today I got my H O P E light up letters to put in my front window. Of course clothes that I don't need since I wont be going anywhere anytime soon. Shoes, bathing suitS, jeans, shorts, tops, pjs, etc. Dog food, gloves, masks, Stefan's birthday gifts, twins birthday gifts, and so much more
I am an online shopper always so this is almost my norm.
I want to see the PJ pants! Those sound like something I'd wear the shit out of.
Nail strengthening treatment oil. I had to buy a two-pack, so hopefully it works!
I also bought myself a new pair of earrings, since that's really the only jewelry that shows when I'm at work.
Oh! I bought more Yankee Candle plug ins and car air fresheners, ink for my printer, and two framed state flower prints that represent the two states I've lived in.
I'm online window shopping furniture because I want to completely redo my living room. The wall art is part of that plan. I've identified the armchair I really want, though I'm still trying to decide on fabric (navy twill or oatmeal linen that's softer and does seem to have a bit of a sheen). So now I'm slowly searching for loveseats/settees/chaises.
I’ve been doing every room over in the house 😂 we got a new futon mattress since ours was 16 years old. New curtains and rugs and seat covers for the dining room. Cleaning out a lot of the junk too. I’ve ordered way too many baby clothes.
Way less than I usually do! I'm not feeling super secure about my job (they did layoffs yesterday, not me, but now we're scrambling to figure out how to transition work), so while I have everything possible on subscriptions with online companies, I'm just not doing a ton of "extra". I did buy myself fancy skincare (SkinMedica through my medspa) for my birthday a couple weeks ago, but that's about it. My spending is actually down compared to non-pandemic purchases. I don't feel like there's any point buying clothes or shoes when I'm only hanging out in my workout or barn clothes.
I'll add to that since last night and this morning!
Bath and body works shower gels....my favorite
Bathing suit top
2 masks from Etsy (ear loop masks will not stay on my ears! so I need around the head elastic) We can not go anywhere withouot them here, and ive been trying to improvise but that isn't working.
1 pair of sandals from Nordstrom rack
and a 200$ supermarket visit yesterday...and yes there are only 2 of us! I went last week and did a full shopping as well
I haven't really bought anything for myself. I bought a baby gift for my brother/sister -in law's zoom shower this weekend.
I had some 4x6 pictures printed but they haven't arrived. I just can't seem to get excited about anything. I have a pierced nose and lost my stud. Since everything is closed I currently have a handmade hoop. I hope when things open up I can go to a local shop and buy another stud. I am not a hoop person.

Our grocery bills are insane. We spent $250 at Costco 3 Fridays ago (I guess it's good that it lasted us 2.5 weeks at least?) and I've resumed a subscription meal delivery to make sure we're getting a few fresh veggies on a weekly basis. I mean, our eating out budget is nonexistent, but still. Going through checkout pretty much makes me gasp. We're only 2 people!
Ooff, yeah the amount of my groceries has significantly increased. But I'm also doing way better about meal planning so it's a wash lol. I did my first click n'go shopping and that definitely helped me not grab crap I see on sale!
I've bought lots of leggings that fit, new underwear, and have three trash bags of clothes to donate. So far I'm down about 55 pounds since surgery, which is awesome.
Also have ordered bath and body works stuff, a new couple of of pans for the kitchen (almost everything we have is second hand), and some geeky artwork from etsy. I still need frames for them.
Thanks to endless ads on Facebook/instagram, I now have a subscription for recycled toilet paper. The first box arrives today - those 48 rolls better be decently soft, or it'll be a looooong few months before we get to move on to something else.
While also on my recycling/less waste kick, I found a plastic-free/cruelty-free shampoo and conditioner that I love (Hibar). I keep admiring how shiny my hair is whenever I pass a mirror, which is amazing since I haven't had a dye job since February.
Clearly FB/Insta have figured out exactly how to target ads at me.
3 pairs of yoga pants, 2 yoga tops, new yoga mat, donut pans, 2 bathing suits, jacket, 2 pairs of sandals....ugh im in trouble.. I was so good the 1st few weeks.
I now have stuff! I bought an art print from a local artist this week and a giant glass fish that I hope ships. I've had one for years that holds toilet paper in my powder room and my H broke it on accident I hope it's the right one. I miss my fish.
I finally bought the armchair I've been wanting for 3 1/2 years! It was ~30% off and the biggest discount I'd seen in the past 6 months I've been stalking it was 25% and that wasn't on all fabrics. Now I'm waiting for a sale on the settee I want.
