I am reading The City We Became by N.K. Jemisin, which is really excellent so far.
QOTW: It has been off and on. I prefer to get up early, so I go to bed relatively early. Sometimes I sleep fine, sometimes my sleep is terrible and I am up ridiculously early. It was worst at the beginning of staying at home but gradually got somewhat better.
We finished the third Little House book, Farmer Boy, and have moved on to the fourth. I’ve read all of about ten additional pages of On Fire - The (Burning) Case for a Green New Deal by Naomi Klein.
QOTW: My sleep hasn’t changed much at all, thankfully. It’s usually decent, sprinkled with an occasional bout of middle of the night insomnia.
I read Reconstructing Amelia earlier in the week. It was my first 2 star rating this year. I finished The Sun Does Shine today - excellent. I can't believe it took me this long to get to it. Next up is Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother's Will to Survive.
QOTW: I've been sleeping OK but definitely going to bed later because it's the only time to enjoy a prolonged break from childcare. Still waking up on time/early though.
I am glad someone created the post! I tried but couldn't type in the message box for some reason. Anyhow, my hold for Where the Crawdads Sing just came in so I am going to start that. I put The Intimate Bond aside for now even though I only have about 100 pages left.
QOTW: My sleep hasn't really been affected, but I am getting more of it at least. Ok, ok, I am staying up later, but not by much; I'm just sleeping IN longer! Ha!
I'm listening to The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes. I'm enjoying it quite a bit! I almost never listen to audio books, but I started this one as something to listen to on my long walks.
QOTW: My sleep schedule is all jacked up and my dreams are hella weird.
Earlier this week I finished Crazy Rich Asians. This book wasn't on my radar at all but I was having issues finding a new book and this seemed like a light fun read. I have a lot of very mixed feelings about it. It definitely fit the light and fun bill but I found myself skimming sections that focused on brands and name dropping. I hate all the male characters, especially the main love interest. And yet, I am somehow really looking forward to reading the next book.
Now I am reading Lock In, which takes place in a post-pandemic world. It reminds me of the movie Surrogates and I think it actually would be better as a movie than a book. It's decent enough that I will finish it but I look forward to moving on to something else. I have a very ridiculous book to read next.
QOTW: We're going to bed at the same time but I can sleep in a bit later since I am working from home and showering midday after I workout. I am having a hard time sleeping through the night because of anxiety but that's not exactly new.
I'm still reading Such a Fun Age and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (with my kids). I should finish reading Such a Fun Age today.
QOTW: No, we maintain the same schedule. My husband still has to report to morning meetings and my kids have online classes stating at normal school time so our routine is normal, just everything takes place at home so my sleep hasn't been affected by Covid-19.

I finished reading “the giver of stars” about a week ago. I really liked it!

- Out in the Open by Jesús Carrasco (audio)- 3- It took a while for me to get into the book. -Dispatches from the Edge by Anderson Cooper (audio)- 3- I wanted to like this more. It was a bit disjointed. Definitely not a feel-good read. -Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology by Leah Remini (audio)- 4 -High Achiever: The Incredible True Story of One Addict's Double Life by Tiffany Jenkins- 4- I had seen this book at the bookstore and was halfway through reading it before I realized who this was- I’ve seen her videos shared a ton of times on facebook. It was good but I wish it dug a bit deeper. -Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill- 3- YA. Trope-y -Most Talkative: Stories from the Front Lines of Pop Culture by Andy Cohen (audio)- 4- this was actually a really fun listen. I have never seen a Real Housewives show and don't watch Bravo but he it didn't matter. He is a very entertaining storyteller. -The Mother-in-Law by Sally Hepworth- I'll save my thoughts for our book club -Open Book by Jessica Simpson (audio)- 5- this book got a lot of hype and I didn't think I would like this as much as I did
QOTW: I've definitely been staying up later since there is not set time I have to get up in the AM. Before I used to have to take the kids to school at 8- now they sleep in til 8 and online school doesn't start until 9:30 (if we do it live)

I finished Children of Virtue and Vengeance by Tomi Adeyemi. It was pretty disappointing compared to the first book. Last week was one of those weeks when a bunch of library holds came through, so I should be busy for awhile.
QOTW: I'm definitely not bouncing out of bed as early as I used to, but I'm usually logged on by 7, which gives me an hour or so to be productive before the kids need help with school.
I finished The Woman in the Window. Super predictable and the prose was a bit too precious, if that makes sense.
I'm having trouble dragging myself out of bed these days. In the before times I would get up at 6:15 and in the shower no later than 6:45. My alarm is set for 6:30 now, but... I have morning check-in meeting at 8:45 everyday, and I like to be showered and dressed before that happens, at least, so I can just roll into the rest of my work. But I've been working until 6:30/7 these days instead of 5/5:30.
