I've already taken a couple sporadic days off. While we're still at home, it's nice to really disengage from work.
They've started loosening up restrictions a bit in MD now. If we're able and feel comfortable, we may try to do a weekend trip in a month or two to the beach. I'll use a couple days for that.
Past that - I feel like I'm just adding a bunch of leave to my bank! We can carry over 10 weeks/ 400 hours. If I don't take anymore vacation, I presently have 33 days in my bank! And as we also get a bunch of holidays that are use it or lose it, I may need to use some of the odd holidays instead of vacation.
My maternity leave last year decimated my leave balances so in some ways this is well timed. I'm a leave hoarder and having my balances at zero was not my style so I will use this year to get my balances back up to the maximum carryover amount.
I'll still need to use a few personal days so I think I'll use 1 or 2 as mental health days once I can send the kids SOMEWHERE. And maybe I'll use one or 2 to go visit my parents (4 hour drive) for a long weekend at somepoint.
So...no vacations, but definitely a few mental health days once we can. I refuse to use them to be in my house with my kids though.
I accrue 2 days a month, and we can roll over like 60 days. I have no idea how many I have - but no where close to that. If I go back this summer, I’ll ask to take one day a week off. Right now I’m working from home until at least June 15. I have taken a day off to disconnect while working from home and that was nice.
My husband donated a big chunk of his vacation time to a pool for other people in his company since some of them apparently need the help now and he knows we’re not going anywhere this year.
