QOTW: What kinds of clothes make you feel the best about yourself? Are you most confident when you’re in loungewear, all dressed up, somewhere in between?
I finished Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid, 2*, In Five Years by Rebecca Serle, 2.5*, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. I am currently reading The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern and am reading The Glass Elevator by Roald Dahl with the kids.
I spent the last 10 days or so doing a re-read of the Hunger Games series. Mockingjay was my least favorite of the three but it makes much more sense when you read them all straight through.
I'm currently attempting to read A Woman is No Man. So far I have had zero luck reading anything of actual substance during this quarantine. Maybe this book will change that?
QOTW: It is more for me about making the effort with my hair and make up. Which I'm not right now. Clothes are secondary after that.
Finished: Hope Rides Again (Obama Biden Mysteries #2) by Andrew Shaffer This book is hardly great literature but it was so much fun. It had me laughing at least once per chapter and I kept reading funny parts out loud to MH.
Currently Reading: The Future of Another Timeline by Annalee Newitz I am only a few chapters in but really enjoying it so far. Think feminist time travel with a lot of 90's nostalgia thrown in.
QOTW: I'm not really sure. I don't put much thought into my clothes despite being really picky about how they fit. I am looking forward to summer so I can revert to my uniform of ON swing dresses and cardigans!
I finished Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother's Will to Survive earlier in the week. It was interesting and informative but overall, just OK. Then I read The Distance Between Us. Awesome.
I just started Behold the Dreamers. I'm only 10% in but I like it so far.
QOTW: Previously I would've said jeans and a casual button down top but I've been living in exercise pants and t-shirts for months now. Part of that is due to the pandemic (no one's seeing me anyway so no need to get dressed) and part is due to being unhappy with my weight and not liking how I look in my everyday clothes.

I'm still plugging away at "A Nearly Normal Family", almost 60%. It's a slow burn, but worth it.
QOTW: Sort of depends on where I'm going, but I think jeans and a nicer top, maybe with boots. I never feel comfortable in work clothes, can't find anything that fits, but this seems to give me confidence.
I finished The City We Became, which I loved, and am now reading Red Letter Days by Sarah-Jane Stratford, which is enjoyable but nothing exciting. It’s about blacklisted writers in the 50s.
QOTW: I am happiest in a put-together casual outfit, where I feel like I made an effort but am still comfortable and relaxed.
The Woman Left Behind by Linda Howard, 3/5* Hello Stranger (The Ravenels #3) by Lisa Kleypas - currently reading
QOTW: I love to wear dresses when the weather gets warm. They're so comfortable and versatile. I don't have to think too much about what to wear. Just pull a t-shirt dress or swing dress and go. If I'm dressing up, you can't beat a classic wrap dress. I think they look fantastic on pretty much every body type. When it's cold, I love jeans, cardigans over cute tops, and flats.
I finished Memory Man by David Baldacci and Skipping a Beat by Sarah Pekannen. I’ve got a bunch of audio, paper and ebooks in the works. DH got me a paperwhite for Mother’s Day, so I loaded that up with books on my goodreads that weren’t at our library and were on Amazon unlimited (got a 3 month trial).
QOTW: Dressier clothes, specifically boots/shoes. I found walking into a meeting with boots or shoes that make a snappy sound on hard floors make me feel confident.

I'm almost done with Where the Crawdads Sing. It's really good and I'm kind of savoring it which is why it's taking so long.
QOTW: I definitely prefer to be dressier. I've not been able to be a hoodie/sweats kind of girl since I left college. I prefer to look my best even for mundane errands. At home I'm in yoga pants and sweatshirts/tshirts (not hoodies, though. They pull on my neck) but I miss nice clothes and reasons to wear them.

I didn't update last week so this is 2 weeks. Finished Defy Me and Reveal Me by Tahereh Mafi - I feel like this series is underrated. But I also think that it may be being dragged out too much. Nit a lot has happened in the last 3 books. I'm waiting on the final book of the series from my library now. Number The Stars by Lois Lowry - Read along with DS and his teacher on virtual school. Normal People by Sally Rooney - I should have hated this book! It's everything that I usually hate in books. Nothing really happens and there are no quotation marks when people are talking. And I ended up not liking the last half of the book at all but the first half was so enjoyable that I gave it 3 stars.
Going to start reading Nothing to See Here by Kevin Wilson today.
QOTW: Dress pants and a nice top and cardigan with loafers.
I read Big Summer by Jennifer Weiner (good beach read, if you want something quick) and just started Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd. I am like five pages in and already think the words are so beautiful.
QOTW: I love wearing dresses, and wear them to work at least 4 days a week. Bonus: I only have to match shoes. It's a throw-it-on-and-look-good kind of outfit.
I’m envious of all you dress people. I love them in theory but I don’t find them comfortable in actuality. My legs get too cold and if I wear tights my dress statics itself to my legs or I have to find a slip, adding more layers. Summer dresses are ok, but they never have useful pockets.

I love dresses but chub rub is REAL! I have to wear shorts under them if it's too warm for tights. My legs don't get cold (too many Ohio winters waiting for the bus in my Catholic school uniform), but the thighs need protection from themselves.

Skimmies! Or the Vassarette version, which I actually prefer. Those things were life changing.

I too was an Ohio catholic school uniform wearer, but I wore tights then too — perpetually cold person here. Uniforms didn’t get staticky, if I recall correctly.
