I made both of mine switch back to cups with lids only for awhile because I was so sick of them spilling their drinks. They’re now back to normal with only the occasional spill. It’s so annoying.

your kids are 4 and 2 ish, right? my kids had nothing but water bottles at that age bc kids are so messy, lol.
OP, mine are 9 & 7 and if they're careless, they can spill for sure. We've drilled it into them that they need to keep their cup at the top left of their plates when at the kitchen table b/c we noticed if they placed them too close, they'd knock them over. Since we did that, there haven't been too many spills. We only allow drinks at the table, nowhere else in the house. (they can have water bottles in their bedrooms)

So 2 weeks ago our main cc was closed due to fraudulent charges.
This morning DH woke up to a text on his personal card about a login code. Nope, not him, he was asleep. Responds no and they did something to his account to secure it.
Then he got a call that asked if he was trying to make a $10k transfer from his cc to a bank account. NOPE.
Then he looks at his email and he's getting all of these emails that aren't his.
The cc said his phone could be compromised (WTF) or his email or both. I'm currently working on freezing his credit at the 3 bureaus.
I am so over this distance learning. They gave my son an 80 in PE on his progress report?!? He has never gotten below a 98 in the past 3 years at this school. He is an athlete and has been on numerous school sports teams (3 years of XC and basketball). He filled out their stupid log each week that requires 30 mins 2x a week. Plus he actually is very active. He plays basketball 2+ hours every day. I emailed asking WTH? I was nice but inside I am steaming.
Seriously, even if he is missing a log or something, its complete b.s. He obviously is a very active kid and they have know him for 3 years!! Distance Learning shouldn't be this difficult.
I drop and knock things over all the time. Usually not liquids, but it is a rare day when I don't drop my phone or something else. I don't know if there is anything diagnosable about it, but it's annoying AF.
We have an HVAC guy coming today to look at our air filter unit (or whatever it's called). The part where the filter can be replaced is completely tilted, which means it's impossible to get a new filter in. I'm fairly pissed that this was not mentioned on the inspection (it says "filter is hard to replace, should be repaired" but it should have said "filter is impossible to replace, needs repair in order to operate normally). Not that we could have asked the seller to do everything, but this probably would have been on my list. I hope it's not terribly expensive. I think if they just reposition it it should be ok, but I know approximately nothing about HVAC systems so who knows.
Well, my 13 y/o spilled her milk 2 days in a row, but she's just naturally clumsy. She's comes by it naturally, I spill and break stuff all the time.
My husband is currently out picking up a tandem bicycle. We've both become super lazy, but in my defense, my knee is still not healed, so doing anything is still difficult. I'm hoping that this will at least get us out of the house.
I am having mixed success with regrowing my food scraps. The celery seems to be faring better than the romaine. The romaine was supposed to get roots within 2 weeks so that I could plant, but it's now past 3 weeks and still nothing. It's growing, but not like romaine should, it looks like a tree LOL I just might use the leaves that it does have and call it good
My husband's 40th birthday is on Saturday and I'm having a hard time finding a gift for him. My initial plan was for him to meet his family in Chicago to go to a Cubs game, but obviously that got messed up.
He's ridiculously hard to buy for. He loves to read, but only reads books once, so is perfectly happy getting them from the library. He isn't into gadgets or tools (I build everything in our house). He likes video games, but I would rather not bring any more into the house.
He enjoys running, and for Christmas I bought him one of those wearable water packs.
I'm considering an Apple Watch, but he already has a Fitbit, so I'm wondering if that would be superfluous.
what do you get for a person who never seems to want anything?
cjcouple, the PE stuff has been such a cluster. While my DS isn't an athlete, they have made the categories for our district so random and ridiculous. Very little they were doing was qualifying for PE credit. At one point I was like just put whatever and I will "sign" it.
My random is that I don't know what I am teaching next year and it is making me crazy. Already nobody knows how learning and schools will be set up, but I also don't have an assignment yet (special ed, and I am the one special ed teacher in the building who will need an incoming class). They want us to take a lot of stuff home from our classrooms, and I want to know what the plan is before I pack and move stuff!

3 and 5 now, but yeah. They really had been just fine with open cups, but randomly got into a spell where they were spilling milk all the goddamn time. And yes, it made me want to cry. lol

Disney got the green light to open July 11th. So. That’s terrifying. The thought of swarms of tourists bringing their germs everywhere. Ugh. I’m going to be quarantined until 2030 at this point
Today is the last day of school and I’m really fully of anxiety over it and how unfinished this year feels. My anxiety has been awful lately and I don’t know how to manage it. Boo.

My hair has had a waxy layer on it for at least two weeks. I swear I've spent almost $100 on treatments. My old hairdresser has recommended an expensive hard water removal kit...which is weird(ish) since we have city water. Anyway I got it, now have to find time to use the packet as I think it has to soak on your head.
The thought of Disney reopening terrifies me! My state is just opening hair salons, they won't even allow outdoor dining. I'm afraid to see anyone other than DH, but know once my dad's place allows visitors I'll have to start slow with him and hope we can sit outside.
People are still bitching on Facebook about our local high school's plan for graduation, which is a drive-in type ceremony. My H is the principal there so my blood boils anytime I read things complaining about him or things that are untrue. They are whining about why we can't do it in the football stadium instead. Well A) we're not even in the yellow phase yet in PA (supposed to be on Friday) which I believe limits gathering to 25 people or less and B) you're morons. There is no way, with the amount of people that would come to something like that, that you could effectively social distance anyway. It's time to just say this year sucked and we're sorry and just end it, already. I so badly want to make snarky comments on these posts but I doubt my H would appreciate it, lol.
Leeham Rimes , at least Disney won't be opening for a month after other parks, sp they can see what works and what doesn't. Also, you will have to have reservations to get in, (not exactly sure how that is going to work), and the number of people will be capped at a lower percentage than normal. And they have rules (masks!) and will kick out guests who don't comply.
I haven't left my property since early March and the idea of going out in public is anxiety inducing for sure, but I was going to be comfortable somewhere, it might be Disney. Might, but that's just a lot of talk since I haven't even gone out to the mailbox in two months. ;p

I’m just worried about the people coming in from other states, bringing their germs, and then going to other places in addition to Disney. They often go to stores, pharmacies, beaches, downtown, etc. Disney is requiring masks and given the status of the moron-itude of Americans, I’m wondering how that’s going to work. Combine all that with poor florida leadership and lying about errythang, I definitely don’t feel safe. I’m in the minority though since most of my friends are acting like there’s no covid at all.

Stupid kids got a beyblade stuck in my hair and I had to cut a thumb sized piece off hair off just an inch from the roots it’s at the crown of my head too.

Beerlover I'm mad for you! They should be happy they get anything. The school where I work did a virtual graduation as we know we won't be able to host 1000 people in the same space by Aug. Pretty much every high school in my state isn't having graduation, maybe just a drive by parade if the parents organize it. Do people really not believe this is a thing? I'm so sick of the "if you don't like it, or you're worried just stay home" attitude, it's going to back fire when every employer forces you to go back because it's "safe", and/or you have to use the gym or lose your membership since they're open etc.

My in-laws live in Orlando, and are older and high-risk (diabetes, COPD, etc), and I’m terrified for them.

Ok I’m super curious what she recommended because I feel like my hair has the same thing!
I’ve been trying to buy a small rack for my weights since the beginning of April. I placed my first order and after a few weeks, I began to wonder where it was. They apparently canceled it. I placed another order. It took weeks to ship. Turns out it was coming from China. It got held up in customs for a week. They released it to the mail carrier. A few days later, they refunded me for it being undeliverable. I just want a pretty place to store my dumbbells 😫

Watching the prelaunch footage on You Tube NASA channel. I wish my kids were into this because it is beautiful and truly inspiring. There is plenty that is problematic with Elon musk and space X, but it is truly humbling what the human mind is capable of. We wanted to drive up and get a little closer but the weather here has not been great.

They're on to us and won't let me open the link in a private window. It's through a company called Malibuc Hard Water Wellness Collection. It comes in a teal package. It has 4 small pouches of powder that I guess you mix with water, then a shampoo and conditioner. It was cheaper on Amazon than the site by almost $15 by the time I paid shipping.
We moved in Nov. and my H was in charge of gathering and moving all our important documents. Well, guess what? All of them are missing!!! Birth certificates, marriage license, SS cards, AND the Bonds my father gave my kids. Im so pissed at the moment. The only thing I have is our passports.
litskispeciality, what kind of shampoo do you use? I had this problem with living proof. Everyone always rave about the brand, but it seriously gave my hair this whole waxy weird feeling.
You've already bought it, but i wonder if just some white vinegar would do the same thing? People have even used dawn to strip hair.

My district is doing a recorded ceremony with each kid getting acknowledged at a drive in movie theater (everything social distanced - even the cars in every other space) and people are losing their f-ing minds. I think it sounds nice and we're only in phase 1 allowing groups of 10 if absolutely necessary and only curbside pickup for stores. One kid wrote in to the Board of Ed during open comments saying that the district was making graduating feel like going to the drive thru at McDonalds.

I just don't get it.
I remember very little about my HS or College graduations. In fact, for my HS one I definitely remember the school making a big deal to all of us about how it wouldn’t seem like a big deal to us, but was really more important to our parents.
And now, it seems like parents are the ones making the biggest stink about how “it’s not fair to kids” to not have a traditional ceremony, whereas most kids don’t really seem to care about the ceremony as much (they care more about missing proms, parties, etc with their friends). It bugs me how so many parents are trying to pass their entitlement off as unfairness to their kids, instead of saying “This ceremony is important to me as a parent, for all the sacrifices I’ve made to help my student be successful.”
