I do not have a tub in my master and I miss it so much. I LOVE baths. We have a tub/shower in the kids' bathroom but it's full of toys and I can't take my baths after they're in bed without risking waking them up (it's a Jack and Jill bath between their rooms).
I hate soaking in water full of my own dead skin cells, so a shower would get used so much more. That said, my husband likes jacuzzi tubs. As long as it works for you, do it! I love the idea of more closet space.

I feel the exact same way. Lol if this were our long term or forever home, I wouldn’t question it, NO TUB. But since we are looking at selling in the next few years, I have to think about the return on investment.
Thanks for the input everyone! I think I’m going to have to figure out how to set a small soaker tub in there. It’s totally possible, as it’s a rather large bathroom. Just didn’t want to run the expense if it wasn’t absolutely necessary
Actually, I revise my vote. Since you're planning to sell in a few years and you already have a large shower and room for a tub, I'd leave the tub. I think you'll appeal to more buyers that way than adding a large closet.
I love my tub and it is the first thing I looked for when house hunting. Of course, some houses did not have one and they were not always off the table but it meant I was calculating repairing that to make it liveable for me and did not want to spend as much money.
My house currently has a too-small shower, but I am happier with that and my large garden tub than I would have been with a large shower. I do not need tons of closet space and kind of like limiting what I do have so that I do not accumulate more clothes than I could wear in a lifetime like some of my older relatives.
I would not do this because it will cost more than you expect it to and if you are moving in 3 years you will probably not get a good return on your investment (quality of life and resale value).
fumbalina, we bought the house as a project house at about half the going rate per square foot for the neighborhood. I guess you can say we’re flipping it, without the stress of a deadline. Lol We’re just updating as we go, DIY-ing a lot of it. We figure once we move, we’ll be able to turn a nice profit.
My arthritic back loves the idea of a jacuzzi tub but then recoils at cleaning it. Like other PPs have said, if there are other tubs in the house the space will be better use with a walk in/fancy shower. That's currently how our apartment is set up and I like it (large shower in the master bathroom and bathtub in the second bathroom).
